Modular structure and AI features stream new reporting processes
One of my clients has a requirement; they want to integrate metadata into the process, which means, for example, if I just want to implement a new field into my database, that field needs to be reflected throughout, let's say, 200 mappings. This highlights the need for a data-driven approach. My experience with technical support from Informatica is quite interesting; I would rate it as nine out of ten for Informatica PowerCenter kind of products or the Informatica integration products, because my team can do some hands-on using their free licenses or one-month kind of products. However, for products Master Data Management or related to MDM or Data Governance, there is no way by which we can directly practice, and my team struggles at that point.

Business glossary is good, workflows are good but installation was difficult
I believe the relationship between business and technical terms could be improved, as well as the focus on data discovery. If we leverage the power of AI, we could provide more user-friendly outputs with relational insights between data. This is a core area for success. Any tool that focuses on data insights will add value. It's not just about linking clear data with clear business terms, but gaining insights is power and the key to success. So, I would like to improve the business and technical relations within OneTrust Data Governance. Customers mainly use OneTrust for compliance. For example, in Saudi Arabia, which is the top-selling country in 2023, there is a boom in data management investments due to digital transformation and government initiatives. They are heavily investing in data enrichment and data management. To succeed in this market, OneTrust needs to invest more and check the requirements from Saudi Arabian regulations. There are around 200 specifications to comply with. Once OneTrust meets those specifications, it will be able to sell more products. If OneTrust adapts well, OneTrust will see significant sales growth until 2030 in Saudi Arabia. An important thing to consider is to offer both on-premises and cloud deployment options. Currently, cloud-only solutions, especially on Azure, are not widely accepted. So, I would like to have an on-premises version as well. On-premises is crucial. If OneTrust can offer Google Cloud within Saudi Arabia, that would be good, but outside the country, Azure is acceptable for HIPAA compliance. So, in future, there should be both on-premises and Google Cloud options for cloud deployment.

"REST API: Excellent for scripting control and reporting mechanisms"
"The program is stable and scalable."
"It is a scalable solution. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten."
"It is very useful for testing purposes and designing mappings for small projects. If you go for IDQ in the mapping itself, you can see the data. You can then correct it, and test it so easily. It is working fine. It is also stable, scalable, and easy to deploy."
"It has flexibility in extending the data model."
"This allows anyone in the enterprise to easily find information about specific products or data elements."
"One valuable aspect of the solution is its cloud-based nature. Users can just pay the fees and get started instantly."
"The platform enhances the collaboration between data governance teams and other business units."
"This product makes it easy to manage personal data."
"The tool gives us the ability to trace the path of an incident."
"OneTrust allows seamless management of multiple geolocations at one time and offers workflow automation based on location-specific parameters."
"The product is easy to use, with excellent integration capabilities that, although they could be improved, are still better than other options."

Cons

"Informatica MDM can improve the data catalog and data marketplace."
"It is not easy to set up and configure the tool."
"It is more complicated to extract data using the product compared to Visio. The system could display the details on the screen."
"The on-prem solution is harder to learn than the cloud-based versions."
"In terms of cost effectiveness, Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) is more than 20% costly compared to the industry."

"There may be some types of limitations with the performance."

"The platform could benefit from more competitive AI features, more user-friendly dashboards, and better automatic recognition or advanced templates."
"The integration with third-party products could be better."
"In OneTrust DataGovernance, there is room for improvement in creating customized email notifications in plain language and enhancing text editor features for form creation."

"The process management capability could be improved. It would be beneficial to have an authorization mechanism for users to process certain actions."
"Deployment is a big issue."
"To succeed in this market, OneTrust needs to invest more and check the requirements from Saudi Arabian regulations."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's a very expensive solution"
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing nine and a half out of ten."
"The licensing price of the product depends on the organization's requirements."
"We switched to Informatica PIM because it was cheaper than the Oracle solution. It is cheaper initially, but they will bundle it later. This is what happens in the industry."
"There is no doubt that it is very expensive, but the brand value comes at a cost. Other MDM solutions in the market that haven't proven themselves like Informatica are also pretty expensive. We need to understand that MDM itself is very expensive to implement. So, Informatica is also pretty expensive. I would rate it a two out of five for being pretty expensive."
"it's expensive, but if you're looking for a stable solution, Informatica MDM is a good one to choose."
"The price of Informatica Cloud Data Integration could be reduced."
"Pricing is determined by the number of licensed users as well as the number of Core CPUs."
"The product is worth every penny."
"There is a licensing fee that we pay regularly."
"The solution is a low-cost option."
"The product cost was reasonable due to a discount for NGOs."
