Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is that you can manage users from one central location.""The most valuable feature is the performance.""Google is always on its own. Google Cloud Identity is pretty good on every point.""I think the first thing that is great is that it gives you a lot of features, like login, and then vaulted passwords and secure LDAP. It becomes easier for the end customer to leverage all those features without going to a higher SKU of G Suite.""One of the most useful features was the single sign-on. You can use it as an identity provider or service provider. And you can use their organization unit feature to enable or disable some of the features for a specific group of users.""It's easy to set up.""Cloud Identity is scalable enough for our needs. It's serving more than 3,000 users in our organization."

"The most valuable feature is policy-driven control of the devices.""The feature with the highest rating for me is its employee management. I can also praise how versatile it is in terms of operating systems. It has good support for multiple operating systems and can easily manage them all. Not just that, but it can also support any kind of tool that can be run on all these operating systems.""You can put all your applications on a mobile device, be it a phone or tablet. It is secure and easy to use. Because it is centrally managed, you don't have to do any configuration on the phone. I just got the phone and connected to the central applications. I just downloaded one thing and everything got rolled out. Email, calendar, and other things were deployed centrally. If you don't have AirWatch, you have to configure your phone manually. For example, you need to deploy and configure your email manually and then synchronize everything. It is much simpler when a mobile device is centrally managed.""The remote management and location capabilities are good.""The location and remote management services are the most valuable.""The solution has very good documentation.""The performance is good, and it is easy to configure.""VMware Workspace ONE has been stable so far."

Cons
"In the next release, I would like to see integration with different systems, mainly wireless SIEMS and other analytical systems that we want to introduce.""They are going ahead and adding a few more things to the Google Cloud premium edition. Their stock management and remote computer management can be improved.""If you want to set up some alerts, you don't have much control over the configuration. You have to use their default alerts. And they only provide alerts for certain activities, so you cannot customize those. Monitoring isn't very helpful either.""The one place it could be improved is the password vaulting. The password vaulting does not prevent the admins from reading users' passwords, and that's a debate.""The pricing for this solution is a little bit higher than AWS and others, which is something that should be improved.""Technical support is slow.""The interface could be more user-friendly."

"I would like to see some integration with native Microsoft products such as Anti-value.""There are other solutions that might be better for certain use cases. This is not an all-purpose solution.""There are some bugs that our team needs to work around. It required some API integration required because visitor integration was not there. For example, we are currently working on a tunnel issue, and VMware doesn't have this solution.""The initial setup should be simplified.""I prefer to work with Jamf Pro because it is more specific to working with the iPad features.""I'd like to see expanded device support, particularly for IoT things like SCADA devices.""There is no Apple zero-day support for updates.""The SaaS environment is not very responsive at times, so the performance can be improved in that regard."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The fees are paid monthly and there are no additional costs other than the licensing fees."
  • "When I worked on Cloud Identity, they offered a free or enterprise version. You can synchronize and create up to 100 user identities in the free version. After that, you have to purchase a business or enterprise license. In that model, you'll be charged based on the number of users."

  • "There is a separate cost for technical support and extra premium features. The pricing should be simplified."
  • "The cost is a little bit high."
  • "VMware Workspace ONE is not cheap; it's quite expensive. However, in the end, they gave us a reasonable price."
  • "If you have a host of custom requirements (including licensing), make sure to set aside enough time for the initial setup because it can take up to a few weeks depending on how complex your environment is."
  • "I think that the price is reasonable."
  • "Pricing is an area that could be improved."
