Speedy and easy setup but it needs to mature
One way this solution could be improved is if they could come up with better options to migrate. As for what could be included in the next release, we have shared a couple of points with them. First, the account should be more in balance and coordinated with us. They already communicated to our project management team that they are going to implement some of these features. I would definitely recommend this solution. But as time goes on and new features are getting added the product will be more comprehensive.

Offers reliable recovery and backup but needs better ransomware protection
With ransomware protection and cyber protection, more improvement is possible. IBM provides these through a third party, so enhancement is needed. There's significant room for improvement. They are not yet where I want them to be. It does not offer horizontal and vertical scaling. These are areas IBM can improve.

"There is protection against disasters with good, fast, reliable recovery options."
"The most valuable feature is how we can easily power speed up the VM even though the VM resides in remote storage."
"This solution is very stable and has good support available online."
"The most valuable features of the solution stem from the fact that the product works and helps with restoration areas whenever there is a need to restore something."
"The support from IBM is very good."
"Pricing is good; it is reasonable and more reasonable than any other vendors."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the integration with Oracle."

Cons

"The product has to be more mature, like to be another six to eight months on the market. A lot of maturity needs to be incorporated."
"The interface and documentation need to improve."
"The solution only supports HyperV and VMware but doesn't support Nutanix."
"You end up needing to do a lot of troubleshooting to get things to work effectively."
"The replication feature is not available."
"IBM Spectrum Protect Plus could be made more lightweight and user-friendly in terms of GUI features to make it closer to a perfect score."
"The solution should allow for backup of iOS snapshots."
"I would like integration into where the VMware guys can do their own restores."
"I cannot determine what benefit IBM Spectrum Protect Plus brings to the organization because we deployed this solution with one customer, and that customer changed the product after one or two years because the product is not stable and it changes with every version."
"Instead of using the command prompt for troubleshooting and administering the backup, there should be an easy-to-use graphical user interface."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The licensing model of Spectrum Protect Plus is more efficient and cheaper compared to the original."
"There is an annual license required to use IBM Spectrum Protect Plus. The cost of the license could improve, it is expensive."
"IBM Spectrum Protect Plus is a little expensive."
"The solution is too expensive."
"The price is perpetual, but the maintenance cost is annual. That is, we pay once for the product and pay annually for the maintenance and support. The price was much cheaper than what we would have had to pay for EMC or Veritas. The pricing is competitive, and I would rate it at four out of five."
"Unlike some other solutions, such as Veritas NetBackup where you have to pay for different licenses to use different features, there is a single license that allows you to use all of the features."
"The initial cost of the product is perpetual but the support fees are billed annually."
"There are a few options available for purchasing the solutions. Overall, the price of the is high."
