Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Dell PowerVault is cheap.""The most valuable features are stability and response time.""It is an inexpensive storage solution.""For us, the initial setup was easy.""The most valuable feature of Dell PowerVault is its performance.""The stability is quite good. Once you deploy all the equipment, it's very stable.""The Dell warranty is the most valuable feature.""Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."

"The most valuable features of ExaGrid EX are the Veeam features and Landing Zone.""Both the pricing and the performance are excellent."

More ExaGrid EX Pros →

"From a centralized system, I can manage the interface, the backup policies, and the status of the database.""The hardware is strong and all the equipment has a good infrastructure. Personally, I think it's the best storage product in HPE for small to medium-sized businesses.""The initial setup is simple.""We also really benefit from the GUI capabilities.""The initial setup process is simple.""HPE StoreOnce works well, it is stable.""The scalability is very good.""The solution's most valuable feature is its catalyst mode, along with better performance, backup, and recovery."

Cons
"PowerVault doesn't integrate with Active Directory. Other storage solutions offer SAN and NAS unified storage in a single appliance, but PowerVault is only SAN.""The price of the solution could be lower.""I would like Dell to improve on the configuration of the disk groups. Only one group is expandable. Once you configure the other disk group types, you cannot expand them. It limits scalability. If you want maybe to grow a disk group, you lose information, and then you need to build it up again, which is not a good use case for customers.""In most instances, clients are using Dell PowerVault with tape drives, but we want to transition them away from tape drives due to the risk of data loss.""We need higher performance and more reliable storage.""Dell PowerVault could improve by having a higher cache and file protocol support added.""We could set up the installation through a web server, but it's not very reactive on the web server. For example, when you launch a task, and you don't know exactly if the task has begun or if the task is in progress, or if it's finished. You have to wait for three to five to ten minutes to be sure that the task is running or in progress or finished. So at that point, it's not very good.""The product is generally stable, but there have been instances, to my knowledge, where we faced issues in the controller during software upgrades. The availability is not at the desired level during these upgrade processes, as we sometimes need to shut down both controllers. This could be an area for improvement."

"The solution’s web access should be improved.""I would like to see free disk space."

More ExaGrid EX Cons →

"It is difficult to solve issues with this solution remotely. I prefer to use the knowledge base platforms. The response time could improve.""The solution must provide backup options for smaller capacities.""The user interface of HPE StoreOnce is an area of concern where improvements are required.""This product would be improved with the inclusion of more features to security or WORM.""The solution's pricing could be improved.""We're outsourced with a partner who recalls a larger amount of problems with the stability of the product.""They could provide more options for storage capacity.""HPE StoreOnce should come with a detailed installation guide."

  • "The price puts me off. It's definitely on the high side."

You can offload the data to the HPE Cloud. It is a licensed product. We have got around 10 TB of cloud bank storage with a one-time payment. We specifically took 10 TB for very critical offsite backups. We can also increase it in blocks if needed."
  • "The licensing schemes could improve in HPE StoreOnce and the price is high. They should reduce the price."
  • "I think the product is competitive in terms of pricing. Other products like the one from Dell are costlier compared to the tool."

    Overview
PowerVault MD3 storage arrays help you cost-effectively address the challenges of data growth with versatile solutions that are optimized for smaller-scale storage consolidation, flexible virtualization projects and high business continuity.

ExaGrid's disk backup with deduplication system is purpose-built for backup that leverages an architecture optimized for scalability, performance, and price. The system scales as needed by adding ExaGrid appliances, which virtualize into a GRID architecture automatically, adding capacity and processing power while acting and being managed as one unified system.

ExaGrid disk-based backup appliances include GRID computing software, which virtualizes them into a single pool of long-term capacity. Capacity load balancing of all data across servers is automatic, and multiple GRID systems can be combined for a total logical backup capacity of 16PB.

HP StoreOnce Backup is a data backup solution that provides a consistent, high-performance, scale-out architecture for your entire enterprise. Reduce the amount of backup data capacity by 95 percent, and choose between powerful dedicated appliances for data centers, or flexible virtual appliances for smaller and remote offices.
