A stable solution with excellent features and a helpful technical support team
We use the solution for cyber fusion centers The product has a lot of strong points compared to other tools. The prices must be reduced. I have been using the solution for one year. I am using the latest version of the solution. I rate the tool’s stability a nine out of ten. In my company,…

Helps analysts with investigations by automating repetitive tasks and presenting them with scripts that include user lookups, and other information
The banks have recently bought Splunk Enterprise Security. We haven't implemented it yet. It is being built. The new version coming out is going to incorporate Mission Control and SOAR. It looks like we will need to move Splunk again and do our triage in Enterprise Security. The reason we took the step to SOAR was for the functionality available for the triage which is now being incorporated into Mission Control. We can easily migrate the data over to Mission Control. For us, the next steps will be to use it as a backend server where we can run playbooks and triage in there. It would be ideal for us if Splunk SOAR could integrate with Teams.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The product is stable."
"The technical support team is helpful."
"Very flexible integration with other tools"
"The most valuable features are the Splunk SOAR apps and playbooks."
"It has definitely saved a decent amount of time for our analysts so they can focus on other tasks."
"The automation part of the product is great."
"I like the way Splunk interacts with various systems via the API. The ability to integrate Splunk with our ticketing system has been an immense help because we can maintain our workflow while blending Splunk with our support desk and other ways that we track work."
"SOAR allows custom code to be written and integrates with various technologies through pre-built apps like Windows Remote Management or custom apps we can build ourselves like a secret retrieval app from our vault."
"Workflow management is most valuable. It is easily customizable"
"It helps increase efficiency and productivity."

Cons

"The tool doesn't integrate well with ServiceNow."
"The prices must be reduced."
"Unfortunately, not all of our analysts are iPhone users or iOS users. The mobile app is only supported on iOS. Our analysts who have Android do not have that benefit. That would be a nice thing to have so that we can have it across the board and not just for iOS."
"We have playbooks written to extract these events and put them into the workflow since it wasn't structured as expected. It was a miss for us. We couldn't figure out why it broke or what actually happened there. It was something in this feed with legitimate and security events, so we tried to understand the names and what we would call them."
"The solution must provide more AIOps to improve predictability."
"The cost of Splunk SOAR has room for improvement."
"The technical support for the Splunk SIEM solution was average."
"Splunk's support for integration is subpar and has room for improvement."
"The tool's response is slower because it has to search through a huge dataset, which can be improved for latency."
"Creating playbooks using the solution’s playbook editor, for me, is very cumbersome. There have been instances where I have said to myself that I just don't want to use this editor. I might just use a code block and write my own code within it... The functionality in the playbook editor is 80 percent there, but that 20 percent is still lacking. They could make it more efficient."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"It's very overpriced because it is based on the number of users. There is no bulk licensing."
"We renewed it this year. This year was the first time there was a dramatic increase in the price. It was kind of non-negotiable. It was just a high increase. We had internal communications, and it was definitely a surprise to us. In a short time frame, we renewed it this year. Prices are going up everywhere, but they are not always justifiable, at least not to our eyes. The pricing this year was definitely a big shock."
"While I can't confirm the exact pricing, some colleagues have mentioned that Splunk SOAR may be on the costlier side."
"The tool is not cheap."
"I found the price of Splunk SOAR to be good."
"When we first purchased our Splunk SOAR license, it was based on an event-count model. It was based on the number of events. I had strong opinions at the time that automation should not be stifled by the amount of automation you can accomplish, so the previous structure was not as beneficial for us. Later that year, we got told or saw at a conference that they announced user-based pricing. We are now in a renewal period, so we migrated to a user-based license model, which is more appropriate for us so that we no longer have to worry about stifling our automation based on the quantity."
"Splunk SOAR is an expensive solution for an organization of our size."
"The licensing cost is reasonable."
