Has helped me create clean and structured process maps with a simple setup experience
I have not explored ways Bizagi can be improved beyond creating maps. If I explore automation and integration with other processes, then I may be able to identify potential areas for improvement. I would appreciate additional features for the free version. Currently, the elements in a process map are limited to activities, decisions, flows, and start/end points. The decision map could be improved to allow more than three options at a decision point.

Visual collaboration has improved remote workflows and supports faster shared decisions
The best features Lucidchart offers are that it diagrams processes very well. It allows for project management to help with client timelines. It is also easy to use and create diagrams, especially mermaid diagrams. Collaborating is easy. Out of all those features, collaboration stands out to me the most because it is easy to share with team members to do joint design work. Lucidchart has positively impacted my organization by improving productivity and collaboration. In terms of specifics, collaboration helps us come to conclusions. I notice better throughput as it is easy to use. Improved productivity allows us to express ourselves more quickly.

Created detailed rack and network diagrams that streamline documentation and collaboration
For creating diagrams, I definitely use Visio for HLD, LLD, and traffic flow diagrams. Apart from Visio, I use Jira only if the customer specifically requests it; otherwise, I do not use an in-house version of Jira in my organization. One of the good features of using the Microsoft umbrella product is that if I create a big diagram and then work on the HLD or LLD in Word, I can select everything from Visio and paste it as an image without needing to resize it, which streamlines the process of creating documentation for customers. The main benefits Visio provides me include simplifying processes, saving time on manual work with diagram creation, and delivering a clean architecture, whether it is network architecture or application flow. I have created diagrams for AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premises data centers, including rack elevation diagrams and organization charts. Modifications can be made easily and reflected immediately, and I can create PNG images to share with the executive team.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like all of the features. I like that you can simulate the processes and add the time standard."
"The user logic is very easy to understand, even for people who are not engineers nor developers."
"Bizagi is really great for beginners because it's user-friendly and you can learn in it quickly, whereas other similar software are harder."
"In Bizagi, all of the features are valuable."
"This solution is easy to use and it is a good tool for process modeling."
"If your approach is for manual task automation is a really good option."
"I like the business process management engine. It's very detailed, and you can probably map any of the corporate workflow processes you come across in it compared to some of the other solutions out there. I can probably say that it has very good support to work in tandem with other RP solutions in the market. The software is still very user-friendly and integral, and they have pretty good online resources. The automation feature is pretty good, so is the integration feature."
"The basic mapping feature is key for me; it's fantastic, it's easy to use and it's free."
"Lucidchart's capabilities for visualizing and understanding process flows are very good."
"The best features Lucidchart offers are that it is easy to use, the diagrams created are of good quality, and there are a lot of elements available."
"In general, the usability is great. You have a ton of customization options with different colors, different borders, different thicknesses of lines, different types of arrows, et cetera. There's so much variety. You can really make a chart with all sorts of color-coding, and color charts in different colors, link them together, for example, or use different types of arrows for different types of links between the chart elements. That variety, while not a specific feature, is really useful. If you want to make a chart, you can basically do anything."
"Lucidchart has positively impacted our organization by improving our collaboration across the company."
"We are using Lucidchart a lot for documenting things, such as processes, systems, new teams, etc. Its ability to document processes is great. Some of the major pluses are the sheer number of templates and the flexibility in the types of things that you can document. This is a benefit because we are able to structure it in whatever format we want. So, we can take a template that maybe was designed for something different and not have to create it from scratch. We just modify it for our purposes."
"The real-time collaboration among users, where we're working on the same version of the document or chart, sped up our project development process."
"Ever since I have discovered Lucidchart, I've been kind of an evangelist for it because I've been doing a lot of work in it, and I really enjoy working in it."
"The ability for Lucidchart to create database schemas or modify existing data structures is strong. That's what I initially introduced it for in our organization. The script that Lucidchart provides works with other systems like Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgres that I can copy-paste, and get a quick dump of metadata and import into has saved me a ton of steps that I didn't have to manually create these tables. I had a lot of things where I still had to put in the linkages between tables, but I didn't have to type in every field name, every data type, and everything else that came in. That saved me tons of time."
"Without this product, I would struggle to do my work."
"It is easy to learn and implement."
"The fact that you could program in VBA is most valuable."
"If you just want to draw basic models and create systems diagrams, and not do anything too clever and link it together, then it will work well because it's quite flexible and easy to use."
"Just the fact that a majority of the industry uses it, and you've got third-party templates that were created."
"The application makes plotting and flowcharting very easy and very user-friendly."
"A good designation feature."
"The solution is very user-friendly."

Cons

"I would like to see simulation as a free feature again. In version 3.3 it was free, but in 4.0 it isn't."
"Bizagi allows for automation, but it's very complicated."
"The performance could use improvement. We couldn't connect the processes to on one file."
"For the small business, this is very bad because it is still fragmented. The licensing policy should be more flexible and small company oriented. In micro-small companies, there should only be one or two. That's not the problem. Maybe it is too flexible, there are so many pieces that you need to put together. When you have a small business, it can be a little complicated, not so easy."
"There is lots of instability with V 11.1. We are suspecting configuration management problems on the Bizagi side."
"The tool is expensive and it should improve its pricing."
"There could be more documentation."
"It would be helpful if they added some extra features in the next update."
"When I download a flowchart as a PDF file, it breaks it up. I would like to see the continuous display of flow charts, even if they are larger than one page."
"I just felt that I am wasting time with those questions and just wanted them to stop asking me these questions and get into charting."
"One of the things that I find frustrating is that all of our Tableau information is on a server, so when I send that out people can't open it and use it."
"I've had a lot of frustrations with that because I've lost a lot of diagrams. I can't get them back and I'm getting pop-ups that are showing me that our data will be loading and I can't run four or five years of my engineering diagrams."
"This might already be a feature, but I remember sometimes when we're just all viewing, if you accidentally click, then there's an arrow that pops up, and you have to go back and delete it. A lot of times there are accidental arrows being drawn when really we're just trying to present to each other."
"I would like to have access to more colorful and more vibrant icons."
"In terms of improvement, there can be more templates. There are good templates but there could still be more."
"It would be helpful if there were different options available for organizing the folders, such as having a high-level display with pictures."
"To be able to extract a report for business project management notations would be ideal."
"Its support team could be well-equipped with the required information."
"Some of the improvements that have been made in Visio have not been beneficial, at least to me, personally. Too many things have been added to it, and it makes it kind of clunky sometimes. There is an overwhelming desire or competition to continue to improve it when the product is and has been pretty good, and some of what is done tends to clutter it. In some cases, the updates make it more difficult to use. It is already pretty feature-heavy and continuing to add stuff is not productive from my perspective."
"Visio differs from a real modeling tool, an expensive one such as, say... erwin Data Modeler, in that the latter has its own repository for storing models, which another person can access and use for modifying the relevant model."
"The only downside to Visio is the learning curve."
"It's not easy to share and modify by colleagues."
"It thinks that it knows what you want to do, but it doesn't; it has a way of behaving that can be very frustrating from time to time."
"The solution could include better modeling and an interface with workflow capability, better integration would make the Visio to Power Automate connection a lot better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If they can freeze the pricing in a contract, I advise them to do so."
"Make sure that your requirements are explicitly defined from the outset. This will help you choose the right setup and licensing for your needs."
"Its price is reasonable."
"The modeling part of the software is free. Most of the time, it is used for this purpose."
"My company uses the free version of the product."
"The product must improve its cost."
"I used to be very pleased with the pricing. Now, it's a bit more complicated. I don't remember exactly, however, it might be $10 a month per user."
"The price could be lower."
"There is a nominal charge for the paid version of the product. They have a free version available and from what I could see, there was not much difference between it and the pro version."
"Pricing comes in at about $100 for a year's subscription, which is very reasonable if this is a tool that you will use more than once."
"I'm happy with the pricing of Lucidchart but I can't say I'm completely happy with it. It could be cheaper for what it offers, about $5 cheaper, or Lucid could charge $5 more and add more features, like automation. Right now, it's $15 per user per month... On the other hand, they have made their billing super-easy for users, such as for people who have to do expense reports. It is probably the easiest platform I'm using when it comes to billing for software as a service."
"Pricing-wise, it is pretty fair. I don't really know what group pricing looks like, but right now, I pay $10 a month for my Lucid subscription. One thing I would say is that I do worry about my bosses being okay with paying $10 a month for every single employee because we would have around 20 people. It makes me a little nervous about whether they are going to pay $200 a month for people to be able to use this software. At the same time, from where I'm sitting, it's totally worth it. We save a thousand dollars from using this software. It's still a no-brainer."
"At €167 per user per year, the pricing is slightly higher than Visio, but it's worth it."
"The licensing is pretty cost-effective but I haven't considered it on an enterprise level."
"I had a quick glimpse of it. It was about 100 Canadian Dollars a year for just me. I don't know if there are any additional costs."
"I pay $95 a year for it. It seems like a reasonable price."
"It's not the cheapest product, but it's extremely valuable."
"I know you can pick it up in retail for under a thousand per person. You can also pick it up for cheaper than that. Microsoft has about 7,000 licensing models, and you get certain percentages off specific licensing. If you're a partner, you get specific numbers of licenses with the partnership price."
"While I don't recall the exact price I do recall that it was quite high."
"I haven't looked at the prices lately. We have an older copy, and it was a couple of hundred dollars for this software. That's a huge expense."
"Visio is included with our Microsoft enterprise license."
"We're in a Visio plan that is like $15 a month per user. At the moment, it is just the standard licensing fees that I'm aware of."
"I rate the price of Visio a six out of ten."
"It has a lower price point than the competition."
