We performed a comparison between Camunda and Visio based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Business Process Design solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Camunda's most valuable feature is its ability to integrate with different products."
"The flexibility is great."
"The number of client implementations and cross-language capabilities to support multiple frameworks is very pluggable compared to Pega. It's also more portable."
"The BPMN diagram is valuable. For our use case of transferring money from one account to another, the connections have to be done in the traditional financial ways. There are a lot of unexpected errors and a lot of instability with this kind of system, and we are using Camunda in order to have clear flows. With BPMN, I can show a flow to my business partner, and the business team can easily understand what's going on. The technical team can understand what the implementation is, and we can model different errors and the process for recovering from these errors."
"The solution is good for data models."
"The most valuable feature is that, with a visual system, you can try to have a process client before beginning the programming for the application."
"Easy to use and easy to integrate into the products and applications we provide for our customers."
"The solution is useful for small projects."
"Visio has improved our organization through an essential collaboration with the other Microsoft applications like SharePoint and Excel. So basically in the earlier days, what used to happen, a majority of the organization captured all the as-is process, the time and motion data in the form of Excel and then they used to create process diagrams using other freeware applications. Collaboration allows easy and convenient sharing with other stakeholders, that is really helpful with Visio."
"The scalability is good. We can reuse it as a model. It can be modified."
"The usability in general is good. The integration of uploading custom stencils is also very nice."
"A good designation feature."
"The solution is user-friendly."
"The most valuable feature of Visio is diagram creation. If you have a presentation, you can create your data model using Visio."
"I haven't needed to reach out to technical support the entire time I've used the product. It's very basic and very simple, and therefore I've never run into any issues I haven't been able to deal with personally."
"Visio has improved my workflow by making it easy to create charts, diagrams, and basic illustrations that I can use in my client reports and proposals. It has saved me a lot of time I would otherwise spend creating visuals for clients by hand."
"The initial setup can be complex for business users."
"We're trying to put the people from the business to do it. We are using APIs, and we have open APIs to define our APIs and the request-response that each call requires and sends. So, to base the mapping on that, there was nothing to help. I know that with some tools, such as Oracle tools, you can see the input and expected output. With drag and drop, you can take one property from the left and drag it to the right, and it does all the mapping itself, but that's not the case with Camunda. So, for me, this is something that can be improved."
"While it's very scalable, it would be great if auto-scaling capabilities were added to it... one area that really could help out would be to have dynamic resizing of the cluster. Right now, you have to do capacity planning."
"I would also like a very easy to use form builder."
"The support offered by the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"Camunda Platform's customer support could be improved because their response is quite slow."
"The cockpit features of the Camunda Platform can be improved to make it a bit more user-friendly, in terms of providing a bit more user experience for non-technical users. There could be some additional documentation added."
"The product's initial setup phase is difficult for beginners."
"I would like to see included in the next release is the implementation of web publishing."
"We need the place and route capability for the lines when we have a database. I use it for architectures, and between the boxes, there are lines or interfaces from one tool to another. I wish those lines could be easily drawn without having to place them mechanically. I wish that there was some kind of place and route capability, so I just press a button, and all the lines get drawn."
"I think that it feels a bit outside with respect to the icons that are available."
"One thing that I always felt was missing was the ability to integrate with other Microsoft products, particularly with things like SharePoint or other Excel Office tools. It may be available, but it is not as good as it could be."
"The solution's flexibility can be perceived as both a strength and a weakness."
"To be able to extract a report for business project management notations would be ideal."
"The price could be lower because it is too expensive in South America when paying in dollars or euros."
"Lacks the ability to analyze the different relations between activities, positions and roles."
