Visual collaboration has improved remote workflows and supports faster shared decisions
The best features Lucidchart offers are that it diagrams processes very well. It allows for project management to help with client timelines. It is also easy to use and create diagrams, especially mermaid diagrams. Collaborating is easy. Out of all those features, collaboration stands out to me the most because it is easy to share with team members to do joint design work. Lucidchart has positively impacted my organization by improving productivity and collaboration. In terms of specifics, collaboration helps us come to conclusions. I notice better throughput as it is easy to use. Improved productivity allows us to express ourselves more quickly.

Innovation in diagramming has streamlined complex UML tasks
Visual Paradigm allowed me to create UML diagrams efficiently. The tool was smarter than other tools in terms of remembering the connections between components on the screen. For example, in other drawing programs, if I moved a box, I had to move the arrow, but Visual Paradigm handled those tasks automatically. This made it much quicker than using other tools like Visio or MagicDoor.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The interface is very good and easy to use. We don't need documentation on how to use it. It is self-explanatory, which is very convenient for a new user."
"This ability to collaborate efficiently and in parallel has saved us time because it makes the job easier for our colleagues and teammates."
"In general, this product has improved our organization because it makes accessing up-to-date processes and planning a lot easier."
"If you are looking for a solution that replaces Visio, Lucidchart is indeed the alternative."
"Lucidchart's capabilities for understanding workflows is high. I use a couple of different programs, like MindManager, and what I like about using Lucidchart is that it is all web-based. So, I can quickly go into a web browser, drag and drop a bunch of files, pictures, or notes, draw some flow lines, and rapidly be able to create a visual representation of what I am trying to do. As a product manager, I can quickly organize thoughts that way and show people what we are working on."
"Lucidchart's ability to create a visualization that people prefer to look at, over reading written documents, has definitely saved me a lot of time, and it has helped to make my code bug-free because I no longer have broken endpoints."
"Out of all the choices that I saw come across my desk, Lucidchart was the best and easiest choice."
"It's very easy to use. I didn't go through any tutorials or any documentation. It was very easy for me to start. It is intuitive. Right after logging in, I was able to quickly just drag and drop and do the things I wanted to do, without any prior knowledge of the solution."
"I like the fact that this solution is complete."
"Visual Paradigm is the best product I've used."
"I love Visual Paradigm because it has many different types of diagrams. For any field of engineering, we can find a diagram."
"Visual Paradigm allowed me to create UML diagrams efficiently."
"The most valuable feature of the Visual Paradigm that I use is process modeling. Additionally, the solution has a complete set of features."
"I love Visual Paradigm because it has many different types of diagrams, and for any field of engineering, we can find a diagram."
"The application is easy to use and provides informative diagrams."
"Stable design software with multiple functions and features. It's simple to install and easy to use."

Cons

"They could provide more documentation or tutorials of ERDs or DDD on the Lucidchart site."
"It can have more colors or graphics. Currently, it is a little boring."
"I choose seven because of those things I mentioned where adjusting different things and drawing the lines is basically not very intuitive at all."
"One of the things that I find frustrating is that all of our Tableau information is on a server, so when I send that out people can't open it and use it."
"In terms of improvement, they should make it very clear, whether it's a single A4 page or two A4 pages, it should be mapped out."
"They could provide more documentation or tutorials of ERDs or DDD on the Lucidchart site. That could be better."
"If you're trying to expand a comments box that is sitting on top of the chart, it automatically defaults to assuming you're trying to connect it to the next step in the process, when all you're trying to do is make the box bigger."
"It would be nice to be able to import not just contacts from Salesforce but also leads."
"In terms of room for improvement in Visual Paradigm, I tried looking for one. I'm pleased with the tool, but it would be great if you could integrate Visual Paradigm with more tools. For example, when moving from Visual Paradigm to another tool, such as Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect, the process could be improved a bit. Still, I wonder if it's not limited by the standards Visual Paradigm follows, such as XMI files. It could be connected to limitations related to the standards rather than a tool limitation. When you move projects from Visual Paradigm into Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect via XMI files, you lose all your notes from the elements, so this is an area for improvement in Visual Paradigm. TOGAF support is an additional feature I'd like to see in the next release of Visual Paradigm. I'd also like the tool to have ArchiMate support. If both TOGAF and ArchiMate could be supported in Visual Paradigm and made part of a lower level of licensing or cheaper licensing models, that would be best for me."
"Visual Paradigm's initial deployment was difficult since we did it for the first time. It is challenging to learn to use the product."
"The speed of redrawing elements and links in complex models - when you need to move part or all of the diagram across the diagram, the tool has a slow response when redrawing objects."
"There was one particular bug that caused some instability issues; Visual Paradigm was having trouble with Microsoft SQL Server system versioning tables and would just lock up in that one particular instance."
"For me, what needs improvement in Visual Paradigm is the limited features included in the $99 license, which is the cheapest option. If more features could be included in the cheapest licensing package, Visual Paradigm would be better, especially for businesses that have a limited budget for buying software."
"The product can always get better as the industry changes."
"Takes up a lot of resources."
"The solution is not user-friendly. It uses a lot of memory and CPU."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We signed up for the month-to-month and it charged us all at once for the whole year. I believe we signed up for the $7.99 one. I think that was the price."
"Pricing-wise, it is pretty fair. I don't really know what group pricing looks like, but right now, I pay $10 a month for my Lucid subscription. One thing I would say is that I do worry about my bosses being okay with paying $10 a month for every single employee because we would have around 20 people. It makes me a little nervous about whether they are going to pay $200 a month for people to be able to use this software. At the same time, from where I'm sitting, it's totally worth it. We save a thousand dollars from using this software. It's still a no-brainer."
"At €167 per user per year, the pricing is slightly higher than Visio, but it's worth it."
"I was using the free version of Lucidchart, which was very helpful."
"The licensing is pretty cost-effective but I haven't considered it on an enterprise level."
"There is a nominal charge for the paid version of the product. They have a free version available and from what I could see, there was not much difference between it and the pro version."
"The price was low enough to make me think that it was fine, I'll go for it. I think it's $80 or so. It's not too expensive."
"I'm happy with the pricing of Lucidchart but I can't say I'm completely happy with it. It could be cheaper for what it offers, about $5 cheaper, or Lucid could charge $5 more and add more features, like automation. Right now, it's $15 per user per month... On the other hand, they have made their billing super-easy for users, such as for people who have to do expense reports. It is probably the easiest platform I'm using when it comes to billing for software as a service."
"I rate the pricing a three on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"Visual Paradigm's pricing is not expensive."
"In terms of pricing, I find Visual Paradigm's subscription services reasonable, especially for the modern and standard editions. However, the premium products can be a bit pricey, especially considering our location in the Middle East. Currently, paying around a hundred dollars per user translates to almost six hundred Egyptian pounds, which can add up. For enterprise licensing, I think the perpetual license option could be more affordable. If it were cheaper, say around five hundred dollars, I would have invested in multiple perpetual licenses long ago. Sometimes, to manage costs, we share accounts among team members or switch access on and off for certain members who aren't actively working on projects. As for additional costs, there are charges for cloud services, which I'm considering because I've already exceeded the free capacity."
"This product is fairly cheap, but if you want more complex features, e.g. integration with other products, it does require an additional cost."
"The pricing of Visual Paradigm is very appropriate and affordable. There are no hidden costs involved."
"You can use Paradigm on a subscription basis and you can choose from different tiers of subscription."
"This is an open-sourced solution, it is free to use."
"You can move between the tiers from month to month so you are not restricted to one pricing model."
