Centralized identity governance has automated lifecycle management and simplifies compliance
One Identity Manager could be improved by making the initial setup and configuration simpler, especially for complex workflows and integrations. The user interface and reporting dashboards could also be more modern and intuitive with better out-of-the-box analytics. Additionally, clearer documentation and faster implementation guidance would help organizations get value more quickly. One specific challenge my team encountered was the complexity during initial configuration, especially when setting up custom workflows and role models which required more time and expertise. We also felt that out-of-the-box reports and dashboards are limited, and more customizable real-time analytics would be helpful. Better documentation and guided setup wizards would make adoption easier, particularly for teams new to identity governance tools. One improvement I think One Identity Manager needs is the enhanced self-service experience. The end-user self-service portal could be more intuitive with clearer guidance for access requests and password resets. Additionally, while integrations are solid, deeper cloud-native connectors and API-driven automation would help in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. A more responsive mobile interface or dedicated app for approvals and tasks would help managers who are often on the go. One more improvement is the built-in predictive insights or trend dashboards around access patterns and risk could improve proactive governance. More descriptive error messages and in-tool troubleshooting tips during setup configuration would reduce dependency on external documentation or support.

One of the challenges regarding Saviynt is the lack of material available on the web, as searching on Google or YouTube often yields little information. Advertising Saviynt is necessary because I was not aware of it a couple of months ago, and it is a very helpful product for many organizations. In India, IGA solutions are not widely recognized, and Saviynt can utilize this point by promoting itself in the cybersecurity field. A significant challenge is the lack of people discussing Saviynt in the open market, as the forums provide slower responses compared to platforms like Reddit. Advancements related to AI would be very helpful. Saviynt should provide pricing for their university certifications, which is currently not publicly available. Information about enrolling requires an ID that is not easily obtained, as it can only be acquired through an organization. Some small wishlist features are related to APIs. As I work on projects, I find certain features to be much needed, but at a glance, they may not seem necessary. As I continue working with Saviynt, these small API-related features become apparent and would greatly enhance the experience.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"My favorite feature is the visualization, because when you open an identity, you can see what is linked to it, such as rules or departments, and I really appreciate how you can see things that are connected rather than just viewing them in a list from a database."
"While our journey to find a solution was tiring and we invested a lot of work and knowledge, our expectations have been reached and even exceeded."
"We were able to clear up some audit actions by providing evidence we have a proper, controlled approval process."
"One Identity Manager was the right decision in comparison to other market products."
"Great product, which I would recommend."
"In terms of the most valuable feature of One Identity Manager, it's not like one feature is useful without the other features. It's not a tool, but it's more an overall integrated solution that is helpful and not specifically one solution on its own. The best points of One Identity Manager would be its process orchestration and synchronization manager."
"One Identity Manager offers identity-centric security, acting as a single source of truth by centralizing identity data for users, devices, and applications."
"It is very powerful and flexible. It works at a very high level, but it can also be tailored as per needs."
"It's a highly functional system and a very well rounded solution."
"Some of the self-service capabilities are quite powerful."
"The most valuable feature is the ease of implementation."
"Saviynt has positively impacted my organization by significantly reducing the time for a project where we previously used a spreadsheet for manual work to keep the data, reducing that time from around two weeks to two to three days or even less and decreasing the joiner-leaver lifecycle time to a couple of days, benefiting them significantly."
"Based on my experience working with Saviynt, they deserve a rating of nine because they are very responsive to support."
"This product works well out of the box and if you don’t want to do a lot of configuration then this is the best tool."
"The product's initial setup phase is simple."
"Considering the initial cost and the basic features, this is a good solution that provides integration with both on-premise and cloud applications."

Cons

"A room for improvement in One Identity Manager is its analytics."
"The migration from one version to another requires a huge amount of effort. The user interface could be modernized. The old one is outdated and will be completely deprecated next year."
"It can have a clearer navigation map of the user interface and user provisioning. The documentation lacks step-by-step details on common tasks like creating roles, running action reviews, and version control."
"The initial setup was complex. It is an extremely complicated thing to replace an entire self-built solution."
"The user experience is good, but it can be improved. There are a lot of features in the administration part, and they need better documentation. For example, they need to explain the main reason for a feature, and what the tables are in the database. It needs better documentation about all the features that are in the solution."
"One key area for improvement is implementing continuous integration and deployment."
"What is missing is a mobile user interface for the end-users so that they can do simple things on their mobile phones on the go."
"We take screenshots with the time stamp and give them to the auditors. That's cumbersome to do, even if we're only audited once or twice yearly. I take a screenshot and then show them the time to prove that the configuration is consistent. We have built-in processes to take regular screenshots and store them in a secure place for the auditors. It would be helpful if One Identity store the configuration details as a snapshot. It would also help with any rollbacks or change reviews that the organization might want to do."
"The solution is hosted on AWS cloud, and there is some dependency that affects our bottom line."
"The company needs to do more to establish standard practices within the product itself that are common in the industry."
"According to feedback I've received, some users prefer SailPoint over Saviynt in real complex environments. SailPoint has its provisioning platform. Complex integrations may pose challenges in scenarios like a large bank with thousands of users, making SailPoint a preferred choice for some."
"The technical support team's response time could be improved."
"Over the past year, my company faced some difficulties with Saviynt. For example, some of the onboarding projects have been blocked due to responses from Saviynt."
"The customer support and implementation services need to be improved."
"The scalability is a question mark because they have not been successful in the places where you have 200,000 to 300,000 identities."
"We sometimes experience performance issues when the solution fails to process the data between two different applications."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It needs flexibility in the licensing or packaging, because you buy the entire package at once, and sometimes the customers are a bit overwhelmed with whatever they get. I would like if they could cut the licensing or packaging into somewhat smaller things."
"It's costlier that some other products, and there is nothing that fits every solution."
"One Identity isn't cheap for small or medium-sized businesses, but I don't think it's necessary for a small company to use. The price is fair for large enterprises with thousands of employees that want to adopt a zero-trust model."
"My clients have been using it for a long time now. They have looked at other products as well, so it seems worth the price."
"One Identity Manager's pricing is reasonable."
"It is fairly priced because they provide all the features by default. That is why they charge a bit more than other vendors. I am not sure about the exact cost part, but One Identity is a little bit more expensive than IBM and other tools."
"One Identity Manager's pricing is competitive and in line with what other companies offer."
"One Identity Manager is priced in the middle range but offers good value due to lower implementation time compared to competitors. Total cost of ownership is crucial where the main expense is in implementation, not licensing."
"The product is less expensive than one of the competitors."
"The price of the license for this product is quite expensive."
"The solution has a pay-as-you-go licensing model, and you can subscribe monthly or yearly."
"Saviynt's pricing is acceptable and licensing costs are yearly."
"If you are investing in securing your data and avoiding any non-compliance issues, then yes, it is certainly recommended. To put it plainly, if you're willing to pay fines and aren't concerned about the misuse of data, then there might not be a problem. However, if you intend to safeguard the data of your employees, vendors, and customers, it becomes crucial. In this context, managing data security requires preventive and detective measures, such as enforcing segregation of duties and regularly reviewing permissions. Throughout an individual's life cycle within an organization or customer life cycle, various access permissions are granted. Without taking action on these permissions, there is a risk of exposure later on. If individuals retain access after leaving the organization, it poses a serious security threat. Implementing solutions like Saviynt can address these challenges, ensuring continuous access review, generating reports, alerts, and identifying potential risks."
"The pricing is comparable to Azure Entra ID. Kind of the same"
"If you need to make any changes then there are additional fees."
"Saviynt has a competitive price."
