Centralized identity governance has automated lifecycle management and simplifies compliance
One Identity Manager could be improved by making the initial setup and configuration simpler, especially for complex workflows and integrations. The user interface and reporting dashboards could also be more modern and intuitive with better out-of-the-box analytics. Additionally, clearer documentation and faster implementation guidance would help organizations get value more quickly. One specific challenge my team encountered was the complexity during initial configuration, especially when setting up custom workflows and role models which required more time and expertise. We also felt that out-of-the-box reports and dashboards are limited, and more customizable real-time analytics would be helpful. Better documentation and guided setup wizards would make adoption easier, particularly for teams new to identity governance tools. One improvement I think One Identity Manager needs is the enhanced self-service experience. The end-user self-service portal could be more intuitive with clearer guidance for access requests and password resets. Additionally, while integrations are solid, deeper cloud-native connectors and API-driven automation would help in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. A more responsive mobile interface or dedicated app for approvals and tasks would help managers who are often on the go. One more improvement is the built-in predictive insights or trend dashboards around access patterns and risk could improve proactive governance. More descriptive error messages and in-tool troubleshooting tips during setup configuration would reduce dependency on external documentation or support.

Configuration based tool that requires less coding compared to other IAM products.
* The Access Provisioning process needs to be improved. Compared to other IAM tool the architecture of provisioning process is not up to the mark. * Tutorial and solution examples are lacking in RSA community center. * Customization flexibility is also minimal due to this sometimes not able to fulfill the organization's complex requirements.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution offers good integration with other environments such as SAP and Active Directory, et cetera."
"Provisioning users and permissions has been automated."
"One Identity Manager connects SAP accounts to employee identities under governance. The connector from One Identity for SAP is the most powerful one in the market. This connector can touch all the levels of the objects in SAP. It can not only be connected to SAP ERP but also to SAP HANA, GRC, etc. One of the strengths of One Identity Manager is the SAP connector. You can touch a lot of the SAP environment and also have deep granularity."
"The tool is one of the best tools, out-of-the-box."
"The most valuable feature of One Identity Manager is it simplifies user-account provisioning and administration. One Identity offers a comprehensive range of solutions that cater to almost every aspect of the identity and access management domain."
"One Identity Manager provides a wide range of features that enable connection to numerous target systems."
"From what I heard, everyone said that before One Identity Manager, they had many workflows and loopholes, and after starting to use it, those issues were addressed, creating a very positive experience for the customer."
"The best features in One Identity Manager include the new Angular portal, which is the best improvement they made by removing the old portal; this feature gives you access to customize and create endpoints, APIs, and now it makes sense because you can expose and create endpoints from your tables and other target systems can use them and add or remove from your database and trigger processes with APIs."
"After IMG most of the tasks happen automatically, but also offer manual provisioning from a single GUI for all applications."
"After implementing RSA Aveksa, all the above mentioned issues have been resolved."
"I am still amazed what this tool can do."
"Violations are highlighted almost real-time and can be managed much more effectively -and this reduces risk exposure of sensitive applications"

Cons

"Quest Software should provide notes and documents to customers before they buy the product and license."
"Support often lacks experienced technical personnel, resulting in long wait times and unhelpful solutions."
"The solution can be improved from a front-end point of view. It slows the portal down."
"It would be nice to have more functionality in terms of connecting SAP systems, provisioning user accounts through SAP systems, and provisioning additional attributes."
"They could make the product more user-friendly. The solution is more complex than you think to use."
"When we try to read a huge number of records, such as from SuccessFactors HR with the Starling connector, the sync project sometimes lags."
"The newest web front end should enhance user experience for individuals who infrequently use the interface, as it currently isn't very intuitive."
"Reporting customization and troubleshooting complex workflows can sometimes be time-consuming, so better visibility and simpler administration tools would be helpful."
"The Access Provisioning process needs to be improved. Compared to other IAM tool the architecture of provisioning process is not up to the mark."
"There are some crucial adapters missing for SAP CUA and for some Legacy applications."
"In the older versions, there were sometimes instances where memory would get used up and the application would need a restart."
"When running big collections/connections for the first time, we encountered some performance issues."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We are paying for premium support, which is expensive. However, we do receive very good, fast support."
"Prices in Turkey are high due to inflation, a challenge we've heard about from our customers."
"It needs flexibility in the licensing or packaging, because you buy the entire package at once, and sometimes the customers are a bit overwhelmed with whatever they get. I would like if they could cut the licensing or packaging into somewhat smaller things."
"The licensing for One Identity Manager is per user, per carbon life, specifically, it's per people, and not a per-identity licensing model. For example, if I have two hundred people, or if I have someone with several identities, I'm only paying for it once. I don't remember the exact cost of One Identity Manager because I wasn't the one who paid for the license."
"It was okay for us. It was not too much for us. It was nearly the same as other products. It was not expensive."
"We have the premium support and are very satisfied. They are always answer our questions very quickly. For the moment, we are very satisfied, but I think it's because we are paying for the premium support."
"There is a one-time licensing cost, and there is also a yearly subscription fee."
"The licensing cost is per user."
