We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Being open source lets us customize it for our monitoring needs, saving us money.""Nagios Fusion version 12.8 excels in user-friendly GUI design, cost-effectiveness, and ease of deployment.""It's very easy to manage and monitor it.""It is easier for client installation, and the configurations are doable even for a newcomer in the field."

More Nagios Fusion Pros →

"Has a user-friendly UI with a centralized console.""Aside from ease of use, scalability is one of the key points of this solution.""The HTML5 interface is very robust.""There are so many valuable features but Nutanix Flow for microsegmentation of the network, and the Life Cycle Manager for dating hardware and software are among the most important for us.""Prism Central is a single point to manage every cluster. Everything can be managed in one panel. Everything is there on the main page of the dashboard.""Nutanix Prism offers web scaling, which facilitates easy scaling.""The Clone and Snapshot features are two of the most valuable aspects of the solution for our organization. Rather than simply one-click automation the Snapshot and reverse Snapshot are great.""You can go directly to the Prism dashboard and it gives you all the information. It's easy to use. I have worked on other platforms but the single pane of glass that Prism has is very helpful for seeing what's going on in your environment: usage, storage, capacity, and behavior."

Cons
"There are some bugs, although not that many. There are some situations where the solution is not stable but the number of problems is not very high.""Nagios Fusion should include a 'remember me' option when logging in, so we don't need to enter a username and password every time.""In future iterations of this solution, there is a desire for more seamless integration with other monitoring software.""Adding application performance monitoring to the product alongside infrastructure monitoring would make it a more complete and useful solution."

More Nagios Fusion Cons →

"The initial setup is extremely complex. I am Nutanix Certified, so I had the ability, but there were still things that we weren't trained in. They mandate—not recommend, but mandate—having an approved installer do it, and it was a very painful process. The installer that we took from CDW was not good, in the extreme. I had to go back to Nutanix directly and get all the problems fixed.""Nutanix Prism could improve by having more features or configurations in the web interface. We should not have to use the command-line interface(CLI). For some clients using the CLI can be difficult.""The process of converting and importing virtual machines to the Nutanix environment is quite complicated.""I wish the main landing page, the dashboard, could be organized in a way where, when there is an alert because something is wrong, I would not have to click three or four times to get to what actually happened. I wish it were quicker to get to the bottom of the problem.""When we get a request from a user for a file-level recovery, there are self-recovery options, but they only work if the replication is available to that cluster locally... In VMware, we could restore a VM and attach the hard drive to any other server and copy the file easily. But that kind of facility is not available in AHV.""I would like more insights about virtual machines. It would be helpful to have more detailed information about resource allocation and usage, so we can distribute resources and reassign them more efficiently.""One problem I faced when creating a VM and adding a hard disk to is that Nutanix Prism did not allow me to reduce that VM's hard disk.""It doesn't integrate very well with any backup solution."

  • "A lot of my customers complain about the price of renewals, so I think that this can be improved."
  • "Compared to VMware, the price of this solution is great."
  • "Nutanix Prism is priced better than some of the competing solutions."
  • "This product is cheaper than using VMware."
  • "The license we bought for Nutanix Prism is perpetual, so once you have it, you can keep on using it. It's a three-year license that's paid one time. The license we have covers the three-node cluster."
  • "The license for Prism is costlier than other VMs."
  • "We have spent a lot of money on the Nutanix solution with Prism. Yet, for this amount of money we could be buying high-end storage with a lot of IOPS and bandwidth, even more than with Nutanix."
  • "Nutanix have bundles for pricing. On a single bundle, we get everything including vSAN or VMware and there are no additional costs. It is just a single license that is needed."
