Developers have benefited from flexibility and performance but pricing has needed further attention
I am only familiar with databases and applications. I am from the development team and I am a user of database and cloud but I don't know the infrastructure. As a user, I deal with the Oracle Database. I know the organization has a license with the product. We don't utilize real-time analytics with MongoDB Atlas. I don't use MongoDB Atlas directly, so I don't know how it can be improved. I would place MongoDB Atlas at a medium level. I would rate it at a six or seven. I believe MongoDB Atlas can improve a little. My overall review rating for this product is six out of ten.

Search performance has transformed customer document access and continues to improve satisfaction
Customer satisfaction has significantly improved since switching to Pulse Elasticsearch and OpenSearch from old legacy services, as many insights from customers indicate that latency has changed dramatically and the speed is significantly better now. For others looking into using Pulse Elasticsearch and OpenSearch, it is definitely recommended to give it a try, especially if old legacy systems that are slow are currently being used. Lately, OpenSearch has come up with a new version that greatly enhances speed, so trying it is encouraged and it will be loved. A review rating of 9 reflects the overall satisfaction with Pulse Elasticsearch and OpenSearch.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is a great product."
"The most valuable feature is the schemaless architecture."
"I would recommend MongoDB Atlas to potential users."
"It has a flexible integration with our easy API."
"The stability and performance are great. The high availability feature is great. Moreover, I am happy with the automated backup and restore functionality."
"MongoDB Atlas is a database that is quite fast, stable, and reliable."
"The initial setup is straightforward."
"In my previous company, the product allowed us to build a database in a highly regulated environment with the ability to get distributed storage, and we used MongoDB as a distributed storage to set up this environment for a critical business application with millions of dollars."
"It is quite easy, and I think it was really great the way they offered the services."
"Customer satisfaction has significantly improved since switching to Pulse Elasticsearch and OpenSearch from old legacy services, as many insights from customers indicate that latency has changed dramatically and the speed is significantly better now."

Cons

"It would be better if there were more integration capabilities with other products."
"They could explore ways to facilitate deploying MongoDB containers within the platform."
"From the scalability point of view, when we shard the database it creates a replica set of each shard and that will increase the cost."
"The cost needs improvement."
"It would be great if it were easier to integrate MongoDB Atlas with AWS services. Technical support for MongoDB Atlas could be better."
"The product's data aggregation feature needs to work faster."
"Based on its own habitat, it's not ACID compliant. If it had an ACID compliant option, it would be more useful for database administration."
"In the past, MongoDB offered more features for free, but now it's quite limited. The free version is limited, and you need to pay extra to fully utilize it. The pricing could be improved."
"I think the way they support the ingesting service for Pulse Elasticsearch and OpenSearch is not really great."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is too expensive. They need to work on this."
"The pricing is acceptable for enterprise tier."
"MongoDB Atlas is more cost-effective than Amazon DocumentDB. It also has a pay-as-you-go pricing model. Apart from the standard licensing cost, you must also pay to get MongoDB Atlas technical support, which is expensive."
"Comparing the price between the MongoDB and Microsoft SQL Server, we are using the enterprise edition of Microsoft SQL Server, which is more expensive than MongoDB."
"We pay for the license on a monthly basis. It's not cheap or expensive. For smaller companies, it's definitely expensive."
"For our service, it was around 300 to 600 euros per month, which was acceptable for our customers."
"The pricing is not that expensive, but it can be, especially when we have deployed it across multiple zones."
"I am using the free version of the solution."
