Has a straightforward setup process, but the functionality for replying to conversations needs enhancement
One major area for improvement is the need for repeated authentication when running a meeting. This requirement for users to sign in and authenticate their mail each time they access the service is complicated, as employees need to be able to access their accounts anytime, anywhere. Additionally, the functionality for replying to conversations using a link has deteriorated in the newer version of Outlook, an issue that needed to be present in previous iterations.

Effectively reduces spam and malicious emails with reliable detection capabilities
It would be helpful to make it easier for end users to filter and see items in the quarantine within the Proofpoint Intelligent Compliance Platform. As an admin, I believe it would be sensible if end users could also see the quarantine folder in the Proofpoint Intelligent Compliance Platform so they can create their own rules. The reports are all predefined, and I cannot create custom reports, so I am not fully satisfied with their visibility. I would appreciate the ability to generate my own reports.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I find Exchange's basic mail features to be highly valuable."
"The backup and archiving features are valuable, it is user friendly too."
"Communication is the most valuable feature of the solution."
"I like the logistics and the Microsoft protocol of reaching Outlook anywhere."
"All features are useful; they meet the purpose of an email server."
"Exchange's interface is good. All of our engineers like it and are accustomed to using it."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Exchange is its ease of use."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Exchange is the collaboration tools."
"Our experience with the platform has been positive as it has maintained consistent control over spam and malware threats."

Cons

"The biggest issue with Microsoft Exchange is its high cost, especially in pricing for license upgrades and expansion to more users."
"The default storage capacity is too small."
"I think it could be more scalable."
"Microsoft Exchange needs to improve how it handles and assigns policy and security."
"Deployment should become a bit easier, the process is a bit complicated. You have to have done it one or two times before you get it right. The first time you do it, it won't be perfect. There are a lot of complications compared to Gmail For Business, which is a bit easier when it comes to configuration."
"One major area for improvement is the need for repeated authentication when running a meeting."
"The security features could be improved. There should be a better policy management system."
"Its search functionality can be better. It is currently not really easy. It has the capability to search your mailbox, but it has some restrictions in terms of the number of results that you can retrieve. You can only get around 250 results. If you want to do a deeper search, you need to use different functionalities of the product. The policy that we have for handling emails is that we do not delete emails at all. If I insert the text that I am searching for in the Search field, it only retrieves a limited number of emails. To search for an email from 2010, I need to use different search functions to find what I am looking for. Microsoft can also improve its licensing for its products. Microsoft's licensing is not very easy to understand. It can sometimes be really complex to understand what you need to have in order to comply with Microsoft licensing."
"The Proofpoint Intelligent Compliance Platform does not provide features that help reduce manual efforts, so additional human resources are still required to manage security."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Microsoft Exchange is an inexpensive application."
"Compared to the other options in the market, the licensing costs attached to Microsoft Exchange seem reasonable."
"There are different prices depending on the customer's use cases and amount of users. The price of the solution could improve."
"Licensing costs for Microsoft Exchange have increased, but are still fair. For some users, the cost is high considering the number of functions and features they will use."
"I have Outlook 365 Professional, and Exchange comes in the bundle with other solutions, such as Word and OneDrive. I pay for the use of the bundle monthly and I can imagine if you are a company with many licenses the pricing model would be a lot different."
"The solution is expensive to maintain because it requires frequent updates and ongoing server maintenance."
"It would be nice if it used less resources to run on-premise."
"I rate Microsoft Exchange's pricing a six out of ten."
