We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the ability to assign a package to a user on a system If you have your software packages set up via SCCM. It automates the process, which is very convenient, especially since most of our people are remote. Additionally, the overall functionality is good.""Matrix42 Enterprise Mobility Management offers on-premises deployment."

"The security-related tools are excellent; these features allow us to secure devices, lock them down, and ensure compliance.""The most valuable feature of Intune is the central dashboard for compliance and policy management.""For the price, the features included with Microsoft are appealing.""It is a very helpful solution.""The Microsoft Windows Autopilot and Defender policies are the most valuable features of this solution.""The device profiling which uses the official Outlook email enabled us to control the screenshot feature and prevent copying outside of the organization's application.""It is helpful for managing devices anytime and any place without requiring dependency on the local networks.""Conditional access has helped us tailor and enforce our security policies in the mobile space."

Cons
"Matrix42 Enterprise Mobility Management could improve the user interface, it is not very intuitive.""In terms of integration, there is still room for improvement in Matrix42."

More Matrix42 Enterprise Mobility Management Cons →

"Intune's reporting and logging could be improved. When troubleshooting, it's difficult to collect the logs and determine what's happening. If I want to filter out the compliant devices, I can see it from the logs, but I would like the option to drill down further.""The difficulty of the the roll out is surprisingly difficult considering this product is supposed to be an integrated part of the 365 suite.""Intune's third-party patch management could be better. It should be easier for the average system admin to keep non-Microsoft applications updated.""There's quite a lot of development that they can do within their Intune dashboard. I think there are too many lines hyperlinked to move you around. Others, in contrast, give you a simple dashboard and an intuitive administrative walkthrough.""In the next release, I would like a feature to be able to properly lock down the device. For example, if an attacker or somebody steals the phone, you can be sure that the pin cannot be broken.""The reports that are generated aren't so great. They don't give a lot of meaning so far, but that could be down to user knowledge than the actual reporting side of things. I'm not a big user of it, but I was a bigger user of MaaS360, and we used to be able to run weekly and monthly reports. In the case of any deviations. we'd get a warning immediately. That's not so easy to do or to get in place for Intune. This could be just a user issue, but when I compare both, that's the only thing that's lacking for me.""There should be more support for macOS. Even though macOS is supported by Intune and Microsoft is working very hard to get more features into Intune to manage macOS, that's one thing they can give a lot more attention to.""The product needs to upgrade itself when the server is overloaded."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."
