Good for digital marketing purposes, such as creating and managing email campaigns
Mailchimp could be more user-friendly for setting up WordPress websites. Some of the complex settings can be time-consuming to configure. So, setting up Mailchimp for WordPress websites can be time-consuming for an average user but not necessarily difficult. It's time-consuming, especially when adding custom code to email campaigns. It requires some experience and knowledge to do it effectively.

The editor itself needs improvements, but we can communicate in a more engaging way.
Customer Service: It's very high. Technical Support: It's very high. A good example is that they're always keen on helping - I had some problems with the system and they were there with me all the time until the problem was solved. So I can say their customer service is top level.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I can have a really good looking newsletter with minimum effort."
"Customer service of this product is excellent."
"This is a great way for DigiEnable to keep in touch with its clients, users, subscribers, and charities and groups it supports, and it's a vital tool in the online communications strategy for any business, meaning you can build better relationships with your clients, keep in touch more, and you'll build better projects for years to come."
"I only use the free version of MailChimp and I find it to be perfect for my needs."
"This is the cheapest, simplest and easiest white-listed provider to use."
"It’s very easy, and you can start using it without being an expert in e-marketing."
"MailChimp is solid and easy to use for clients, but has all the power we need to build great campaigns, A/B test them, get them delivered, tracked, and report."
"MailChimp has allowed us to easily integrate it with our CRM which has reduced the amount of effort needed to setup up and track any marketing newsletter."
"We were able to send, to our potential clients, a mail proposal and follow who is clicking and reading what in order to prepare additional customized and adjusted offers according to their interest."
"Customer Service: It's very high. Technical Support: It's very high. A good example is that they're always keen on helping - I had some problems with the system and they were there with me all the time until the problem was solved."

Cons

"Automation workflows have limited trigger options."
"The training materials need work."
"MailChimp’s reports on audience engagement are not the most robust."
"I don't have any issues with the service."
"A standalone system for private servers would be ideal."
"It needs more formatting flexibility, such as the ability to wrap text around photos."
"The solution should improve its reporting feature. There should be more transparency around API development. At the moment, the clients are pushing custom API into the mail, so we don't have too much visibility regarding what endpoints they're pushing the data into."
"Sadly now Mailchimp has started charging for the use of the auto-responder (automation) emails, so it's lost it's edge for the free services."
"We tried using IT as a survey tool, but at that time the feature was new and did not offer as much functionality as for example Google spreadsheets."
"The editor itself, as it is sometimes a bit complicated to find the features you need."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"MailChimp is affordable."
"I primarily use the free version, but sometimes, for specific client needs, we may have to purchase different versions or packages."
