Provides solid functionality and allows room for enhancing content management and support services
They can improve their CDR content profile and some anti-spam features. They don't have any direct script to run to add personalization, and we have to do it manually one by one. There are many tasks which we have to complete individually. We can't import files into the Fortinet FortiMail Cloud sensors. That's a drawback, as they need to provide a feature to import files. We can make the format, but we cannot import the file into Fortinet FortiMail Cloud. Additionally, in Fortinet FortiMail Cloud, not in FortiSandbox, they need to improve the block and allow list functionality to block URLs and allow specific types of URLs or regex.

Good for digital marketing purposes, such as creating and managing email campaigns
Mailchimp could be more user-friendly for setting up WordPress websites. Some of the complex settings can be time-consuming to configure. So, setting up Mailchimp for WordPress websites can be time-consuming for an average user but not necessarily difficult. It's time-consuming, especially when adding custom code to email campaigns. It requires some experience and knowledge to do it effectively.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"If there is a problem somewhere Fortinet can act on it immediately. That is very important."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the ability to check to see if the email is real."
"From my experience, this tool is able to protect the network."
"The scanners with FortiMail are valuable."
"Fortinet is good at providing security beyond our email solution assets."
"The implementation was very professional. There are a lot of features I can get through Fortinet and FortiMail, such as security. FortiGuard is the most reliable and professional mitigation center to handle incidents and risk that I have to face."
"This solution is stable; this is a cloud-based solution with a data center, so if site one goes down then site two will continue, and it is always available."
"I am happy with the stability."
"MailChimp is solid and easy to use for clients, but has all the power we need to build great campaigns, A/B test them, get them delivered, tracked, and report."
"I like the ease of configuration and the templated emails."
"Running email campaigns is easy and straightforward."
"We have been happily using MailChimp for all our email marketing needs."
"Seeing the click rates, i.e., what people are clicking on to gauge what the subscribers to our emails are interested in is the most valuable feature."
"With RSS campaigns, nobody has to login every morning to send the daily news email to 19K readers."
"It’s very easy, and you can start using it without being an expert in e-marketing."
"I use Mailchimp for digital marketing purposes, such as creating and managing email campaigns, collecting data, and integrating with WordPress websites."

Cons

"We can't import files into the Fortinet FortiMail Cloud sensors. That's a drawback, as they need to provide a feature to import files."
"They could look at strengthening anti-spam with the newly observed domains."
"This solution is slow and it should be made faster."
"The improvement in Fortinet FortiMail Cloud can be made regarding the classification process itself because it has some false positives."
"Fortinet FortiMail Cloud doesn't have AI features, making it an outdated tool for me."
"The throwback with Sophos is that it had a huge problem with spam."
"Fortimail Cloud should include more advanced AI features that can analyze every traffic type."
"I've not been able to use more than two domains in the back end. I like to view logs for the different domains. If I add any other domain I'm not able to get a proper cPanel for that domain. I am talking about the login factors. I'm not able to see logs for different domains in a different Window. Basically, it's an issue in the login process."
"MailChimp’s reports on audience engagement are not the most robust."
"The WYSIWYG editor doesn't work in the email client that IBM uses, so I've had to completely code out the email."
"Sadly now Mailchimp has started charging for the use of the auto-responder (automation) emails, so it's lost it's edge for the free services."
"It gives me errors every time I try to send a newsletter to more than 400 people at a time."
"It needs more formatting flexibility, such as the ability to wrap text around photos."
"They have poor inbox visibility, and many of the emails went to the spam folder."
"The solution should improve its reporting feature. There should be more transparency around API development. At the moment, the clients are pushing custom API into the mail, so we don't have too much visibility regarding what endpoints they're pushing the data into."
"Automation workflows have limited trigger options."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"A license for our company using FortiMail and FortiCare (filtering and support) was $4000."
"You only have to purchase one license for multiple participants."
"It's on a subscribed basis."
"The licensing is for three years. In the beginning, we did not pay monthly, it was paid once for three years."
"The product's price is reasonable."
"The price of this solution could be more competitive."
"I rate the price of Fortinet FortiMail Cloud a five on a one to ten scale, where one is the low price, and ten is the high price. It is an averagely priced product."
"It should cost around $60,000. We bought it as a bundle, so everything comes together in the license. That is standard."
"MailChimp is affordable."
"I primarily use the free version, but sometimes, for specific client needs, we may have to purchase different versions or packages."
