We have created customized alerts to help prevent unauthorized access, specifically for one of the banks, collaborating with the team to set it up on the core banking database. Organizations considering Oracle Audit Vault should recognize that its integration to Oracle database is seamless, allowing for detailed reporting, alerts, and high security. We have worked with customizable alerts regarding Oracle Audit Vault. We have created one alert based on the categories available in Oracle Audit Vault. Oracle Audit Vault uses an agent that is pushed from the appliance, which I downloaded the JAR file from. We are now considering creating a replication and patching process with planned downtime, but we have not yet experienced scaling out or patching. I would rate this review with an overall rating of nine.

A tool that offers a proper view and division of all databases while also allowing users to do continuous monitoring
I have seen that the tool's installation phase has some problems regarding the versions, specifically the version of SQL. Trustwave DbProtect doesn't accept some versions of SQL. Some credentials when you are installing give some problems, but all of them did pass through the installation phase but gave a certain amount of hard work to be done during the installation phase. The aforementioned area needs to be considered for improvement. The pain points with Trustwave DbProtect were about the installation and problems with the different versions not being accepted. A more compatible version of the product with other databases and operating systems should be possible.

Cons

"Improvements can be made in data enrichment and enhancing the GUI (Graphical User Interface) for a better user experience."
"Agent on z/OS does not have a limit for CPU usage like on other platforms. If you specify filter too wide, the agent would consume too much CPU so that could cause more cost for your mainframe."
"SecureSphere activity log can be used with Imperva CounterBreach in an effort to protect enterprise data from theft and loss caused. Since such is core to its function, I would like to see future versions to integrate such options."
"The stability and the ease of use of this product can be improved."
"The only challenge I see is that SecureSphere is deployed on servers or databases which are held on physical infrastructure. However, there are databases which are hosted on cloud platforms and Imperva has a separate tool altogether for that, not SecureSphere."
"It is very expensive. Its price can be better."

"Some of our customers were asking about the latency when the application wants to get to the database."
"The underlying mechanism for collecting SQL statements (REDO collector) is still based on Oracle Streams technology."

"The support could improve."
"The level of technical support was very low. They sent us an inexperienced technician."

"Regarding stability, I would give it a rating of 3.5/5."
"We have not been able to integrate this product with a lot of standard incident response solutions, so an open API would help in this regard."
"The system that is running scans can become slow to respond. Thus, you should be able to say, don't consume more than a particular amount of resources when scanning."
"The other main disadvantage is that the product does not have encryption or data masking, unlike other companies' versions."
"We encountered issues with stability, especially during database upgrades and migration."
"I have seen that the tool's installation phase has some problems regarding the versions, specifically the version of SQL."
"We have not been able to integrate this product with a lot of standard incident response solutions, so an open API would help in this regard."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing over-all depends on the entry level. For example, if support and maintenance are about $20,000 - $25,000, the initial cost can be five times more. It is less expensive for the company to maintain the client than to make the deployment."
"There is an annual licensing fee for upgrading the device."
"Imperva is too expensive for small and medium-sized enterprises. They're missing out on technology that helps them manage their data security better. Data security is essential because even the strongest network may be attacked from the inside without it."
"This is an expensive solution and the price should be reduced."
"Imperva SecureSphere Database Security was quite expensive several years ago, but now they provide a subscription plan for licensing. It is available now for smaller and medium-sized companies, not only large enterprises."
"Licensing fees are on a yearly basis, and it is a good value for the money."
"The pricing is reasonable and competitive."
"Pricing is low and scalable to add features and volume."
"For the bank, the license was $48,000 last time. That was the licensing for the bank on just one license."
"This solution is definitely not expensive, and it is a small fraction of the overall database licensing costs."
"The licensing cost is about $360,000, annually."
"Oracle can be an expensive solution depending on the options and user needs."
"I rate the pricing a five on a scale from one to ten, where one is the lowest and ten is the highest."
"The licensing fees, including support, are approximately $5,000 USD per database, per year."
