Easy to setup, good support and stable product
When we started, we used Acronis for both cloud and on-premises backups. Protege was a reliable solution, and the cloud-focused approach is well-suited for our current needs. If you require both cloud and on-premises backup capabilities, Acronis is a more comprehensive solution. For solely cloud-based backups, Protege is a solid option.

Ease of deployment and excellent support ensures seamless data security
I am working with Veritas Backup Exec, and that is the one I use. The value of using Veritas Backup Exec across physical and virtual environments is significant. I had a chance to use Veritas Backup Exec on physical and virtual environments, but not on the cloud. The benefits from the platform support of Veritas Backup Exec are that it works very nicely for physical and virtual environments. Veritas Backup Exec is affordable for my customers. My customers use the solution on-premises and in virtualization. Securing the data for customers is obviously a significant benefit of Veritas Backup Exec. I highly recommend using Veritas Backup Exec for backup as it is very easy to use, easy to deploy, and the support is also very nice. On a scale of 1-10, I rate Veritas Backup Exec a 9.5.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Since it is on the cloud, it is a very stable solution."
"It is a good backup tool."
"The dashboard was good. I loved to see the maintenance dashboard every time I logged on. That was my first screen because it always gave me a reminder of how many days before my next renewal."
"The price is one of the best."
"The most important feature is the variety of backup applications it supports, including ERP systems and most other programs, such as Microsoft."
"The most valuable features of Veritas Backup Exec are the graphical interface, ease of management, and overall ease of use."
"It is very useful to be able to backup files and folders, for both Windows and Linux (physical and virtual servers), and put them into whatever kind of storage that you desire."
"It makes our backup process so stable and robust."
"We've used the solution for ten years, and everything has worked very well."

Cons

"One area for improvement would be expanding its capabilities beyond Azure-specific backups."
"The one thing which could be improved, which we have informed Veritas about, is the ability to plug in to the cloud."
"There still a lot of room for improvement in synthetic technologies, especially when targeted to deduplication media."
"Veritas Backup Exec's dashboard feature could be enhanced."
"Something within the software itself isn't quite right. There may be a bug or glitch. It will work fine for weeks and then all of a sudden it just tanks."
"They could include backup functionality for enterprise environments."
"We have to struggle with license deployment every time, so I think they can improve that aspect."
"Some improvements are needed to enhance flexibility."
"They can improve the reporting component. The reports aren't user-friendly at all. You have to download them to Excel to get statistics."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"There is an evaluation license available to test this solution."
"I think it's sold at the right price. It's not expensive. The license is usually for a year."
"Regarding expense, Backup Exec is generally suitable for small and medium businesses. However, we can customize them based on the workload."
"If your company can afford it, go for it."
"It is affordable, but I hope that the price will come down a lot because of other competitors. It is a good price for the customer, but sometimes, the competition provides a much lower price. There are two ways to license it. You can license it per instance or per terabytes of data that we are mocking up. It is enough because it is not so complex. It is good when you're working with customers."
"The solution costs $700 per agent and is expensive compared to other products that offer better stability."
"It has a good price-value ratio. Its price-value ratio is better than Veeam."
"It's a good price for the product."
