Centralized protection has simplified K-12 security management and reduced after-hours workload
One of the things I appreciate most about Huntress Managed EDR is the single pane of glass within the Huntress platform, which is excellent for managing both Macs and PCs. When we use Huntress Managed EDR, I get visibility of all of our assets and their protection, regardless of the platform, which makes it easier for me to manage security from one spot. Huntress Managed EDR has helped reduce the need for expensive security tools, as this platform replaced another solution that was more costly. With 24/7 monitoring, we don't need to staff after-hours support, which has significantly reduced costs for our medium-sized organization with about 180 staff. We do use the auto-remediation feature within Huntress Managed EDR to automatically remediate medium and high severity threats. It has not encountered something requiring active remediation yet, but it did quarantine a file and worked well during our test scenario. The fact that Huntress Managed EDR solution is fully managed by Huntress 24/7 significantly eases my workload when it comes to triaging and managing alerts, as it helps me sleep better at night knowing I don't need to monitor alerts around the clock. I can confidently wait to receive updates without worry about our environment's safety.

The main use case is usually related to security. It deals with attacks that come day-to-day such as zero-day attacks and APT attacks. Our main task is to secure the network infrastructure in the hospital where I work It facilitates the departments of IT and other departments to procure and…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten...I rate the technical support a ten out of ten."
"Huntress Managed EDR provides that human in the loop, which means someone is always watching your back, and that's the main difference."
"After deployment, it takes some time to scan and process everything. Huntress has effectively flagged issues such as password files on desktops, which it identifies as low-level alerts. It also handles more significant threats effectively."
"Their SOC is super responsive and does a great job of catching incidences and being on top of any issues that arise."
"Huntress helps by highlighting potential issues, allowing us to take proactive measures."
"Huntress Managed EDR fits our needs in the SMB market perfectly, especially targeting the cultural sector within the Netherlands, as it provides a cost-effective SOC SIEM solution with a clear product line and transparent pricing that allows us to maintain decent margins while keeping costs low for our end customers."
"It catches things that no one else catches. We occasionally have things slip through antivirus and other things, but Huntress catches them. It is awesome as an additional layer of defense on top of other things."
"Using Huntress Managed EDR has helped reduce the need for expensive security tools or to hire expensive security analysts, which is very important as we can use the money that we saved on those in improving equipment."
"The tool's AI feature is helpful in endpoint security."
"The real-time monitoring feature of Sangfor Endpoint Secure is truly real-time, with no delay compared to other solutions."
"The product's initial setup phase was straightforward."
"I like the tool's honeypot feature. Some features include having a honeypot to detect attacks in a certain area. Additionally, there is RDP protection, which means that when we remote into our server or any endpoint, we must enter a password as a second layer of security. It can also integrate with next-generation firewalls."
"Sangfor Endpoint Secure has some good policy certificates."
"The user-friendliness of Sangfor Endpoint Secure is particularly impressive. Even with basic technical knowledge, users can easily navigate the system, make changes, and implement updates."
"The most valuable feature I have found in the system is its comprehensive end-to-end protection."
"It has a quick response time, threat intelligence, cybersecurity features, quick report generation, behavior analysis, dynamic detection, and quarantine features."

Cons

"One area where Huntress Managed EDR can improve is in alerting."
"Huntress has a cyber education platform, but it lacks all the languages we need."
"I'd like Huntress to implement a component that can analyze network traffic for specific sites."
"I would request that they make it an agent for Linux because we need it on Linux."
"It would be nice if Huntress Managed EDR started adding additional features that some of the other competitors have, but obviously, to keep it lightweight, they cannot pack too much into it."
"One thing they could improve is evolving from an EDR to an MDR, like Blackpoint. This transition would enable automatic remediation of anything that looks dangerous, including within Microsoft 365."
"I would like to see an easier way to whitelist sites or to monitor some of the reporting that Huntress Managed EDR does."
"The ITDR product is coming along great, however, we are still getting many false positives."
"I believe Sangfor Endpoint Secure could improve in terms of its user interface and management capabilities."
"It is complicated to establish a tunnel due to technical issues in the VPN system."
"It would be much more convenient if the migration tool could be installed directly on the customer's VMs, enabling a smoother migration process to the new infrastructure, with potential restrictions addressed accordingly."
"There are a few areas for improvement. We have encountered licensing issues on occasion, and sometimes updates don't apply properly."
"When an issue occurs, the response time for first-level support and the time taken for meetings could be improved."
"Currently, the tool lacks reporting functionalities."
"The interface has too many buttons, making it cluttered."
"Sangfor Endpoint Secure should include healing capabilities."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We haven't had any problems with Huntress' pricing. We're at 250 workstations, and we've grown considerably this year. They've been able to handle everything that we've thrown at them within that time frame. They're also reducing the price based on how many endpoints we add."
"It is very fair. I started at $2.50 and now I am at $3.50. When I signed up, I thought it was too cheap. It now reflects the price. It is very fair. I do not think you can find anything better."
"I believe Huntress Managed EDR is fairly priced. The value I get from it in terms of peace of mind justifies the expense. You can justify it as a business expense."
"Huntress is priced fairly for the services and value it provides."
"The pricing is competitive, in line with Huntress's offerings, and aligns well with our business model."
"Huntress is an easy sell to clients because it does all the heavy lifting. Sometimes, they will buck a little at the price because they want a free antivirus or EDR. We tell them that we use Huntress on all our machines. That is our standard process for all the machines we roll out. When we give that advice, people are pretty willing to say okay."
"The Huntress pricing is an excellent value for what the product provides."
"I believe Huntress offers competitive pricing overall."
"Price-wise, Sangfor Endpoint Secure can be considered a competitively priced product in the market as it offers quite low prices compared to other solutions."
"Sangfor Endpoint Secure is not a cheap solution."
"Its "pay as you grow" model offers cost-effectiveness compared to major cloud providers."
"The product is expensive compared to other vendors."
"The solution is cheap. It is cheaper than other products by 15-20 percent."
"Sangfor Endpoint Secure's pricing is cheap. I rate it seven out of ten."
"We were using Hyper-V. So, we switched to Sangfor because of the pricing."
