Effortless upgrades with one-click feature while new server deployment needs a smoother process
I have a data center, and all the servers are connected to HPE Alletra dHCI. I use it for data management with VMware running on the servers The most valuable feature of HPE Alletra dHCI is the one-click upgrade function, which allows all drivers and services to be downloaded to all servers…

Has integrated solutions and rapid recovery made management smoother and more reliable
There is the latest update from HPE regarding HPE SimpliVity. For virtualization, HPE has to depend on other manufacturers, OEMs such as VMware or Hyper-V. Recently, HPE declared the VM essential virtualization solution. In the future, if HPE integrates HPE SimpliVity with VM essential, that will be a great combination. Functionality-wise, I am totally satisfied with HPE SimpliVity, but for improvement, if HPE integrates its own virtualization solution, this combination and integration will be beneficial because this integration can be configured with the cloud-based system. A VM can be uploaded to the cloud from this, which will be advantageous for backup to other sites.

Pros

"The most valuable feature of HPE Alletra dHCI is the one-click upgrade function, which allows all drivers and services to be downloaded to all servers easily."
"It's helpful as you stand on high-end storage. Alletra offers up to 99% availability, providing excellent stability. You also get the benefits of an HCI solution with a template and upgradability at any time."
"The latency is very low."
"The product has cut down a lot of service tickets. Earlier, people complained about slowness."
"Very good in-line compression."
"The technical support services are good."
"Artificial intelligence is built into the product. If there's a failure, HP support will proactively call the client about the issue."
"HPE Nimble Storage dHCI has the most valuable features for performance, resilience, and scalability."
"Improves backup time and DR solution."
"The initial setup was straightforward."
"The compression and deduplication features are most valuable because they allow us to have a small footprint for storage. It is a very stable product, and we are also able to get all that we need in terms of reporting."
"The globally federated architecture means that the backup across sites does not consume precious MPLS bandwidth, which is cool."
"Stability is pretty good. We have no complaints as it has been running seamlessly with no downtime."
"The solution is very stable."
"The most valuable features of this solution are the backup rate and the backup transfer."
"Its ease of use is valuable. It is being used in a mining company. They wanted their working nodes to be seamless, and they wanted ease of use. That's why they opted for SimpliVity. They are running VMware virtual machines on it."

Cons

"The solution could improve by providing better file-level restoration and DVX system options."
"The product's active controller feature needs improvement."
"HPE Nimble Storage dHCI's website does not open properly or work consistently."
"HPE Nimble Storage dHCI currently is promoting only VMware as a hypervisor, whereas if they can look into other OSs, such as KVM or Red Hat, it would be an improvement."
"The deployment of a new server could be improved."
"They could expand product support to Microsoft Hyper-V and Red Hat Linux platforms."
"Sometimes the technical support would get back to us in two hours, but other times it would take them two or even three days to respond."
"HPE Nimble Storage dHCI only works with a hypervisor like VMware. There are plenty of other hypervisors that HP doesn't support. This is an area for improvement."
"HPE SimpliVity should cost less."
"SimpliVity needs to add support for Hyper-V and KVM."
"We definitely want to see more of the CLI commands come up to the GUI, and it is a legitimate question, if we are going to be happy with the integration in the vsphere web client, which is awfully slow."
"Not being able to apply ESXi patches as needed has always been a concern, but it has not become a big issue."
"The greatest disadvantage is the update process. Every patch or release update must be checked and deployed with the HPE solution, which sometimes is a little bit difficult. It is not difficult in terms of installation, but it is difficult to get the patches in time."
"I would like them to add more connection capability, a hub and spoke model, to improve the number of connections that it can handle."
"Integration with external solutions outside the HPE posed challenges."
"The way that it handles the memory could be better."
