Has plug-and-play capability once configured and good reporting system
The tool's most valuable features have been its plug-and-play capability once configured and its reporting system is good. The most improved feature of asset auditing is its physical logging of all software. This allows us to understand what software and applications are installed on endpoints. We can easily check which software applications are installed in the network infrastructure during client processing or audits.

Patch management process becomes more efficient and cost-effective while significantly improving vulnerability remediation rates
Regarding improvements in Qualys Patch Management, I did not quite understand the downsides they were expecting. Initially, I was confused about where to find and how to use the available features. It was challenging to identify the options we could employ and why we were using them. However, once I gained hands-on experience, I was able to identify the tool's particular features, making it easier for us to use it. The initial phase had some difficulty with the user interface. I would them to improve user training. They have used many colors, which can be confusing, so they should use specific colors for specific options. For critical options, they could make them red, green for medium, and blue for less significant options. This would make it easier for a beginner to recognize which buttons are dangerous to click. Such adjustments can help new users learn the solution faster.

Pros

"The tool's most valuable features have been its plug-and-play capability once configured and its reporting system is good. The most improved feature of asset auditing is its physical logging of all software. This allows us to understand what software and applications are installed on endpoints. We can easily check which software applications are installed in the network infrastructure during client processing or audits."
"Qualys Patch Management has significantly reduced our organizational risks."
"The integration of Qualys Gateway Scanner is my favorite feature."
"Qualys Patch Management's most valuable feature is its responsiveness."
"Automated features streamline patch deployment and ensure compliance, effectively mitigating risks and bolstering organizational security."
"The most valuable features of Qualys Patch Management include its ability to automate patch deployment for hundreds or thousands of assets, reducing our reliance on the IT team to perform these tasks manually."
"Qualys Patch Management is one of the best solutions because the patch success rate is very high, it always reduces the remediation time significantly, works very fast in this sector, and is excellent at third-party patching where it performs better than most in this area."
"Qualys' best feature is its reporting. At first, it may seem a little complicated to a beginning user, but it's helpful once you get used to it. Most of these scans run automatically. We set the scans up for the client to run at daily, weekly, or monthly intervals, depending on how critical the server or other hardware is."
"Our patch rate was 85 percent before implementing Qualys Patch Management, and now it is 98 percent."

Cons

"The tool needs to be more user-friendly."
"The patch status and patch completion information should be improved. If a patch fails due to some reason, such as a Windows error, the error code that gets published should be more detailed."
"Since we do not have that solution criteria, we end up calling multiple teams and asking them what version needs to be deployed."
"While I've recently seen many problems with stability and reliability in Qualys, it was initially stable; however, current issues include modules being offline for extended periods."
"There is room for improvement in the inclusion of more patches. Not all patches are available on Qualys, so they need to get licenses for other patches as well."
"Currently, there are limitations in downloading patch jobs to view all associated assets and patch statuses."
"It works with Windows and Linux, but Mac patch support is not yet available."
"The pricing of the solution is slightly high compared to other tools in our field."
"There is not really anything I dislike about Qualys Patch Management for obvious reasons, but there are no rollback capabilities."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the solution's pricing a five out of ten."
"Qualys Patch Management offers a moderate price point, neither cheap nor expensive, considering its comprehensive functionality."
"It is affordable, but they should provide features as per the rate they are charging. We have a big infrastructure with about 80,000 licenses. We expect better support from the Qualys team. So, it is affordable, but more features should be there, and the support should be better."
"Pricing for Qualys Patch Management is moderate."
"From what I have heard, Qualys Patch Management is pricey, which is a main barrier to entry. Another aspect that I do not like about Qualys is that they do not add new patch management functionalities to the existing package. It is a separate SKU, so you have to pay more money."
"The pricing is reasonable and competitive. We get many more features at the same price compared to other solutions such as Microsoft SCCM. It is worth the money considering the services and features it has. Their support team is also awesome."
"Qualys Patch Management's pricing could be more competitive, as it presents a significant obstacle for many companies who find it unaffordable."
"Qualys is fairly priced."
"Its price is competitive in the market. Compared to other solutions like Rapid7, Qualys offers a favorable price point and robust features."
