Integrates job architecture and skills data to support strategic workforce planning
What I find valuable about Eightfold Talent Intelligence Platform is that you integrate your data from skills and job architecture into one platform, and the power of their algorithms are the strongest that I have seen, with no other competitor enabling you to do things in a single platform. It also provides the ability to API connect into your HR information system, whether it be Workday, Oracle, or SuccessFactors, giving you much more AI enablement and more connection with external data, showing you how things are trending that better inform your internal decisions. The predictive analytics of Eightfold is strong. The reason for that is because of the way in which their algorithms are built on the basis of data that is looking at how you generate, in essence, career mobility, which makes them stronger than others. Because they work on a quarterly product development life cycle, what I have heard indicates that Eightfold is always going to be three years ahead of your HR information systems that are trying to add this capability into their platform.

Suitable for larger-scale companies aiming to streamline and automate their processes digitally
The deployment of the solution took between six to eight months. When we introduced BrassRing at my company, we encountered several challenges. First, moving data from our old system to BrassRing was tough because it needed reformatting. Second, connecting BrassRing with our HR data was tricky due to manual processes for roles and departments. Third, setting up the workflow in BrassRing was complex. Fourth, configuring user access and approval levels was a detailed task. We also had to manage the change process, including running both old and new systems in parallel, communicating changes, and training users. Lastly, monitoring and reporting were needed to ensure data accuracy and proper system usage once everything was in place. We had a team of six to eight people managing the project from our side during the BrassRing deployment. I'm not sure about the size of the BrassRing team, and we also had our own technical team, which had three to four members. The solution required maintenance, particularly from my side as the administrator. Maintenance responsibilities were divided into two parts: some tasks we, as end-users, could control, while others were the responsibility of the BrassRing team. Payment-related tasks were a regular part of our responsibilities. I wasn't the only person maintaining the solution. There were three power users from Infosys, each responsible for a specific geography. My counterpart managed it in the US, and I, along with my colleague in India, managed it for other geographies.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The CRM is a useful feature to create user communities that we can actively engage in on an ongoing basis."
"This solution has made our team more collaborative. The recruiting team is easily able to see what the other team members are working on, what candidates are in process and how they can share candidates amongst themselves. They are now able to prevent work duplication due to increased visibility. Eightfold is candidate centric."
"The most valuable aspect of this solution is the insight we receive on current employees."
"I really like the ability to run campaigns with pipelines and events. Matching prospects based on skills and the calibration process has been most valuable."
"This solution has allowed our team to focus on higher value activities and to make sure that they are optimizing time to identify talent and match it to opportunities. They can then focus on the layers where humans are necessary."
"Stability is fantastic. In the two years we've used it, I've only experienced one outage."
"What I find valuable about Eightfold Talent Intelligence Platform is that you integrate your data from skills and job architecture into one platform, and the power of their algorithms are the strongest that I have seen, with no other competitor enabling you to do things in a single platform."
"From my perspective, one of the most valuable aspects of Eightfold Talent Intelligence Platform was the talent matching and employee game planning of future roles."
"The most valuable features are that we can upload documents and download them on demand."
"It is extremely user friendly. It is very flexible in managing recruitment, especially when you have thousands of applicants as we did. We easily had over 20,000 applicants within a year for some of our positions, so it made it very easy to manage a large application pool. It was very easy to customize by recruiter preference. When you open up someone's profile to see their experience, education, or other things, you can customize that for yourself. It was flexible in that, and each recruiter could set up their preferences. It didn't have to be set up so that everyone had to have the same landing platform, which was very helpful. As someone who trained other HR people on how to use the system, it was very easy to pick up and learn."
"IBM Kenexa is fairly stable. We don't have any downtime."
"The ease of scaling is one of BrassRing's biggest strengths, making it a trusted choice for large companies."

Cons

"It would be interesting to enable Eightfold to have a user experience that is seamless in terms of single sign on to and from core systems of record. That is, the ability for a user or hiring manager/recruiter to go in and out of Eightfold back into their core system, whether that be Oracle, Workday, SuccessFactors, Cornerstone, etc. It would great to be able to go back and forth with a single sign on capability so that you don't have to log in and out of applications, where it's a bidirectional single sign on."
"From my perspective, I think the usability could use some attention. Eightfold.ai offers modules for talent acquisition, talent management, and other areas like projects. They try to use a common UI for all of them, but it really needs to be more persona-based. That's the thing that I struggle with the most."
"We're doing user testing now, and on the calibration page, there's no publish button. I have to go to overview to publish it. It could be user error, but it would be nice to be able to easily figure out where buttons are and what they do."
"The sales representatives that I reached out to on LinkedIn weren't very helpful because once they realized that it was for a smaller company, they weren't as interested."
"The challenge I had was that they were outsourcing their implementation to third parties before you then re-engaged with them, which created a disconnect in terms of the implementation and integration into your overall IT architecture."
"Eightfold could be improved by focusing on the employee experience. It is important that Eightfold understands how it forms part of the entire experience, especially as they continue to scale. Eightfold should make sure they understand how it connects with other solutions in our technology ecosystem to drive the full user experience."
"There are some small product features that could be enhanced. Ease of use and the recruiter user experience could be improved. Moving through certain stages involves many clicks which can be time consuming."
"We have had a couple of challenges with some of the things that we're currently trying to build out in our HCM application, and other things within the portfolio, but those aren't customer-facing issues."
"I would not recommend IBM Kenexa to others."
"It needs to update its reporting and analytics tools."
"The reporting tool is helpful, but it is not the easiest to train on or is not as understandable for other HR pros. Their Workbench site, which is the administrator site that you use to update your website, is not user-friendly. When updates are required, it is not that easy to manage because Workbench is not user friendly. It required more work from the admins. They have Workbench training, which actually was very unhelpful. It took eight hours to complete, and it was not very helpful. Their customer service when it comes specifically to their Workbench site is not helpful."
"I would like to have a better and more user-friendly interface."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is fairly competitive. The licensing is fairly flexible to have all employees take advantage of it in any given capacity."
"I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten, with one being cheap and ten being expensive."
"This is a fairly expensive solution compared to others on the market. However, the solution offers functionality of a number of other different solutions combined. From that perspective, it is competitively priced."
"The pricing is fair compared to the market."
"Kenexa was fairly priced. However, in 2019, before I left my previous organization, they significantly increased their pricing. It can be affordable, but their pricing is going up. It is not just licensing; it is how many applicants you have in your system on the database side."
