A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"CyberArk probably has probably the best vault on the market because of the multiple layered security and each password getting its own encryption."
"CyberArk's GUI is user friendly."
"The auditing and recording functionality along with stringent password-change policies and one-time password use has made compliance with customer requirements a much clearer and easily managed process."
"The most valuable feature is Special Monitoring."
"It is one of the best solutions in the market, and ever since I started using this solution, there has not been any compromise when it comes to our lab."
"From the pure usability and administrative perspective, I can't imagine doing what we do without it."
"The solution helps our developers access internal systems. It also helps us in Privilege Access Management."
"It has helped us with our adoption with other teams, and it has also helped us to integrate it at the ground level."
"For v8.4, you can work easily if you stick to OOTB, however, should you require customization, then the tool is very flexible using SQL/VB knowledge to extend."
"The self-service functionality for password/access management reduced our need for manual intervention."

Cons

"Some of the additional features that we are looking at are in the Conjur product."
"The initial setup is complex."
"There were a lot of manual steps in the initial setup which could have been automated."
"The initial setup could be simplified. Right now, in comparison to its nearest competitors, it's quite complex."
"There is a lot of room for improvement in the report section."
"CyberArk's license is too expensive. I rate it seven out of 10 for affordability."
"It is very expensive. They charge for every single thing they offer."
"My impression of their technical support team is that it is very bad. The support team's response time is quick, however, the resolution process takes too long."
"Moving from v7.x to v8.x is not easy. You need Courion expertise and skills to upgrade and migrate the data."
"Stability was a constant concern. The application was plagued with memory leak issues from initial installation and through multiple major/minor version upgrades."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Network and security licenses are currently being managed by other outsource vendors, so they are facing some type of problems in the digital aspect."
"I would rate the cost of CyberArk Privileged Access Manager seven out of ten with ten being the most expensive."
"If you want a Ferrari, it will cost you. The solution is really nice, so it costs the client, but in the long run, it is very good. If you buy a solution that costs a lot to maintain because it is not stable, and you are frequently asking for consultant support, it costs more."
"The solution is cost-effective for the features."
"I rate the tool's pricing an eight out of ten."
"I have heard from my leaders that CyberArk is costlier in terms of licensing. The support and maintenance are also costly. We use their premium support, but for the price we pay, we do not get the value."
"The price of this solution is quite reasonable."
"The license CyberArk Privileged Access Manager is on an annual basis."
