Room For Improvement

JAMS users seek an intuitive UI, enhanced search, better documentation, integrations, monitoring, performance, and clearer deletion dependencies.
BMC AMI Ops needs improved UX, automation, AI features, dashboard customization, and better data management for enhanced efficiency.
n8n should enhance onboarding, documentation, scalability, workflow management, and UI, while increasing native integrations and AI assistance.
Another area for improvement would be the addition of source control for jobs internally, as this feature would solve several problems for me.
Manager of Reliability Engineering and Security Operations at a computer software company with 501-1,000 employees
A major improvement would be the integration of AI to help us accomplish various tasks.

ETL Data Engineer at a tech vendor with 10,001+ employees
The jobs should be arranged sequentially by default; this could be improved.
System Engineer at a tech services company with 10,001+ employees
Sometimes false alerts pop up, so if there is any automation that checks before putting up an alert on our consoles to determine whether it is a genuine alert or a false alert, that would be really helpful.

I would like to see more AI in BMC AMI Ops, such as an AI feature that lets you keep track of storage in some way, perhaps some kind of automatic disk cleanup.
System Engineer at a tech vendor with 10,001+ employees

I would appreciate having more AI integrated into n8n, specifically an AI agent to help me better understand how to build workflows and assist when I encounter errors.
Ai And Automation at PeerSpot

Automation has replaced nightly monitoring and delivers reliable, unified job scheduling
We have really enjoyed working with JAMS in terms of notifications, alerts, and streamlining. There used to be a process with Automate, which is another product from Fortra, but even before that, the other division of the company that we were merging with had a tool that was built in-house called a file handler or file distributor. It was an in-house developed tool, but it was not as streamlined or as efficient as JAMS is. We literally had to have a dedicated nighttime person monitoring. Although we are 24/7, the divisions of the company that we were using JAMS for have been small scale. While we have automated it, we have streamlined it in such a way that notifications go out and alerts go out, but if there is anything, then we get paged and alerted, and if anything needs to happen at midnight, we can wake up. On the other hand, with the tool I mentioned, the file handler and distributor, we used to have a dedicated nighttime person that had to be sitting and monitoring it to see when a file arrived, whether it met the conditions, and then execute the next particular job. By using JAMS, we have gained a lot more efficiencies in terms of all of those to streamline it, and there is no necessary need for having an overnight engineer just keeping an eye on all of this.

Unified monitoring has reduced downtime and improves early detection of critical CPU issues
BMC AMI Ops offers excellent features including real-time monitoring, performance dashboard, and intelligent alerts, plus the automation capabilities we are using. It is easily accessible with visibility across multiple systems. I rely most heavily on the performance dashboard and real-time monitoring. The real-time monitoring and alerts keep us informed about problems immediately rather than waiting for users to report issues. BMC AMI Ops has impacted my organization very positively, primarily in terms of timing. Our manpower previously was required to investigate issues, which took considerable time just to identify the problem. Now we identify issues very early and solve them immediately. The positive outcomes include mainly reduced downtime and improved efficiency of our manpower. Earlier, when users reported high-priority issues, we had to spend extensive time investigating, resulting in system downtime. Now everything is much easier with BMC AMI Ops. Regarding BMC AMI Ops's AI capabilities, I believe its governance and security are very strong. We are currently handling almost eighty percent of our projects with it, and it is very stable with enterprise-level performance, including strong role-based access and monitoring capability. BMC AMI Ops is very reliable. The monitoring data is accurate, and the alerts are very specific and timely.

Automation has transformed complex workflows and has empowered non‑technical teams to build flows
Regarding improvements for n8n, I would highlight two areas. First, while there is a growing community, the ecosystem of pre-built nodes for niche or proprietary systems still lags behind some commercial competitors. I often have to build custom HTTP request nodes or create my own node packages, which is doable but adds to project timelines. Second, features for team collaboration and lifecycle management are still evolving. Moving workflows from development to staging to production can be a manual export-import process, and native Git integration and more robust user roles for larger client teams would be a game-changer. Regarding needed improvements, I believe much of the existing documentation is not peer-reviewed. There is definitely a big community, but if the documentation or tutorials were approved or at least had a badge from n8n, customers would feel that this meets the standards of n8n editors themselves, which would give more confidence in the flows.
