OLAP ad-hoc analysis is a valuable feature but the pricing needs to be improved.

Daily invoice analytics has become streamlined and complex data modeling is now simplified
We are not using analytics features and possibly predictive analytics and forecasting features in QlikView, although they are available. QlikView is very flexible, but we are currently using only tabular presentation of data because that is what we need. Presenting a large volume of data in QlikView with graphics can be overwhelming for the majority of people who want to see a lot of information in one picture. It would be beneficial to have AI or ML features in QlikView. However, I think they will decommission QlikView, and AI features are already available in Qlik Sense, so you would need to migrate to that platform.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It's allowed us to implement High Performance Work teams who periodically monitor KPIs, as well as improving the infrastructure and overall work methodology."
"Our Qlikview applications help us to get a good idea of our Client Base Performance and assist us in the decision making for Seasonal Specials. On the other hand QlikView helps us to get a grasp on our Suppliers and helps us to negotiate pricing with them."
"Uniformization of KPIs across all departments brings efficacy and effectiveness to coworkers in problem solving."
"Our primary use case is an application that our users use to get the profitability on a monthly basis."
"ROI is much better compared to BO because deployment time and cost are both reduced."
"They used to manage the business data through spreadsheets, now they have an automates process and a stable solution."
"E-T-L, The Extract, Transform, and Loading capabilities of QlikView make it a highly sophisticated self-service business intelligence tool for developers and analysts."
"The most valuable aspect is its extensive library on Microsoft, providing a robust framework for implementation."
"It's incredibly fast and can handle large volumes of data without slowing down our operations."

Cons

"Pricing needs to be brought down."
"This solution would be improved with the inclusion of a feature that would allow us to add a common library of (our) commands used in load scripts and expressions, so with a keyword, we would get a drop down to select the command we are looking for, as opposed to the generic help."
"I have several lower-level users who don’t need full functionality of the tool, but do need to access more than one model. In this regard, the licensing structure is limiting and costly for a user who is not using the analytical aspects of the tool."
"Predictive analysis is an area with room for improvement."
"It would be great if this software had better transforming tools."
"Sometimes when developing QV applications, I encounter almost unexplainable errors that causes QV to crash."
"The only thing I would improve about it is the fact that it refreshes all the time, and when it does that, it just deletes all the options you had, all the filters that you had selected, so you need to select them from the beginning."
"There could be a feature to analyze the sales and accounting data of the client."
"The license cost is very high."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's reasonably priced and falls on the more affordable side."
"Qlik is fairly high in terms of pricing."
"Pricing is a bit too high and I think licenses should be unlimited."
"The setup costs for QlikView are fair as are the yearly maintenance fees. The licensing becomes a bit more expensive and requires some planning for onboarding."
"The platform's pricing is considered quite expensive, particularly given the dollar-based pricing."
