OLAP ad-hoc analysis is a valuable feature but the pricing needs to be improved.

The use of data forms simplifies financial data management and input processes
The best feature of Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud is the possibility to use data forms to input data and allow users to have a template with the data form. For users, it is not necessary to go with a free form to take data or input data. My automotive customer transitioned from Essbase on-premise to Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud specifically for the data forms functionality. This is the main feature that Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud offers compared to the Essbase on-premise solution. Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud offers the possibility to use data forms for viewing and inputting data. This is the easiest way to perform these actions without using free forms.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It's allowed us to implement High Performance Work teams who periodically monitor KPIs, as well as improving the infrastructure and overall work methodology."
"Planning is the most stable and solid tool available in the market."
"We previously used Oracle EDS, and when comparing it to this solution, this solution has a much better interface. There are lots of advantages of the new solutions. Having it on the cloud, we are able to forget about keeping them updated or taking care of the database. We have minimal maintenance."
"The most valuable feature of Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud is ad hoc reporting."
"We have labor queues and workforce planning as well as our complete budget and focus for different business areas in the company, and it is adding so much value."
"It gives you an end-to-end solution from integrating data from the source system to reporting. So it's a highly recommended tool."
"It makes it easy for users to get through and see what they have to do next."
"The tool improves the organizational budgeting process in several ways. One significant aspect is the extensionable functionality it offers. To illustrate, consider a scenario where a company has factories in Mexico producing Volkswagen and Kentucky producing Ford."
"The most valuable feature of Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud is ad hoc reporting."

Cons

"Pricing needs to be brought down."
"There is middleware that we need to purchase for our use case that should be provided in Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud. We should not have to purchase the additional solution and the integration should be seamless."
"Some of the things in this product are just too cumbersome and we don't need them and they make it harder to do certain things, or certain things have to have more specific names or descriptions."
"OCI can predict changes in your infrastructure in advance so that customers aren't caught off guard. It would be nice if OCI could predict these changes and notify Administrators without the Administrators asking OCI to do it."
"The tool has its flaws but most of time (99%), it is the implementer's fault that you have a bad or slow model."
"Upgrades and patching are a pain in the butt. There are just too many pieces that have to be implemented in the right sequence."
"Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud could improve by having better integration with some other modules that we would add to this solution."
"It would be nice to have better performance."
"Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud could improve by having better integration with some other modules that we would add to this solution."
