Streamlines reusable data quality rules and has highlighted the need for richer logic and documentation
I worked in Ataccama ONE Platform from version 5 and now we have version 15, which has improved a lot. However, there is still considerable scope for improvement because Ataccama ONE Platform was not that great around 2020 when I started working with it. There can still be more features including writing any logic, improving more keywords for logic building, and enhancing address validation, based on my understanding. User experience is actually good; I do not have any complaints or feedback on that. However, the documentation part can be improved because documentation is key for any organization or tool. If anything is needed for understanding, you have to rely on documentation. Ataccama's documentation has potential for improvement.

Handles large data volumes effectively and offers competitive pricing
There is a lot of improvement required, as we still face some cache issues most of the time, which is a challenge that we expect to see resolved in the future. Additionally, there is some limitation when we are working with a tool, especially regarding In and Out parameters, and I feel that this aspect should be improved going ahead. We face issues with the API side, as Cloud Application Integration cannot handle large volumes; according to the API page, there is a limitation of 500 records or 500 MB. The AI integrated into the Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services solution is called Application Integration, where we still face challenges when dealing with huge volumes, as previously explained.

Has an adaptive approach, a friendly UI, and good integration capabilities
The Profisee user interface has positively impacted our data management. As a data architect and enterprise developer, I have seen that it is convenient for the data storage team to complete their work. The interface is visually clear and easy to understand, streamlining the entire process. Profisee's scalability and integration capabilities with other systems are highly effective, particularly within an Azure-centric environment. Its seamless integration with Azure services like Purview enables comprehensive data lifecycle management, including data lineage and management. Implementing Profisee has potentially made our time to market for new products and services more efficient. Qualifying master data and making it available downstream for data consumption seems smoother now. As a bank, our response to data availability might differ from other industries like advertising. Overall, I see positive impacts from using Profisee. I would recommend Profisee to others, but it depends on various factors such as how well it fits with their business domain, cost considerations, and resource availability. If they have centralized their data in Azure, Profisee is a no-brainer for data management. Overall, I would rate Profisee as an eight out of ten.

"The product’s important feature is data profiling and quality check."
"Ataccama ONE Platform goes to some large corporations, we are using it for very big data, there is a lot of data being processed by Ataccama in our organization, and it is very good in scalability."
"By understanding the existing data from various source systems, we were able to arrive at the requirements for a data quality plan, and create a separate plan to improve the data quality."
"I was able to ascertain that elements of information was or was not of value to the migration process, thus saving money in the migration project."
"The ease of use of the user console is valuable."
"Customer service was excellent, and I would give it a ten out of ten."
"New tools are coming out that will enable you to achieve 90 percent of use cases with the out-of-the-box configuration, but I would like to keep Informatica tight here. Otherwise, you need a Java user edit course and other things to do multiple things that you cannot configure out of the box. They have to go through those use cases to do something if those can also be configured rather than coded."
"We can see all our information on a single screen."
"The most valuable features are the structure masking and platform masking."
"The data quality component is very good."
"The solution is stable."
"Informatica Cloud Data Integration is stable."
"The most valuable features are data quality, data integrate transformations, match-merge, and a few MDM solutions we build into data quality transformation."

"The product is able to utilize the SQL server toolkit and it has tight integration with the SQL server."
"We really like the matching and merging features."

"The process of categorizing data, creating glossaries, and generating metadata is streamlined and less time-consuming."

Cons

"The interfacing to tools such as Collibra was somewhat cumbersome and required more thought."
"I remember one disadvantage, I couldn't load large database to Ataccama DQ Analyzer. One time I had one single database close to 180G which was not able to load to Ataccama DQ Analyzer, and had to use another solution."
"Although DQA can fetch data from most of the commonly used data sources, it has limited modifiers to get data, meaning that the number of technologies from which the data can be acquired is limited."
"They could focus more on marketing the product. The current marketing strategy is not working."
"I believe it would be beneficial if it could enhance its flexibility to connect with a wider range of downstream systems beyond just Excel and Postgres."
"It is complicated to fetch 20-25 reports when we profile the data."
"It was a little tough for my team to learn and start using Ataccama ONE Platform because the documentation at that time was not good."
"Although DQA can fetch data from most of the commonly used data sources, it has limited modifiers to get data, meaning that the number of technologies from which the data can be acquired is limited. For example, DQA does not support fetching data from Twitter or Facebook. Many competitors have this feature."
"I would like to have the solution in one product and technical support needs to be better."
"The integration with older technology and cloud quality needs improvement."
"When it comes to UI look and feel and user experience, Informatica is not as good as other solutions."
"The biggest challenge I see is the IDE's for the cloud and automization are different."
"From my point of view, a quick response time is needed when searching for an item."
"GUI is poor in IDQ"
"The tool should provide a unified user interface to manage the data objects."
"Though EDC has maximum coverage, a few things were not available to scan, but I think EDC is evolving to address this issue."
"The way training is laid out in their Profisee University makes it really, really hard to find what you need fast."
"When we updated to version 7.1, there were some workflow issues."
"Profisee could improve in providing clearer data lineage information."
"A more convenient approach would involve integrating all the pre-existing elements into Profisee itself."
"Some security complexities might add time to the setup."
"When we updated to version 7.1, there were some workflow issues."
"The way training is laid out in their Profisee University, makes it really, really hard to find what you need fast."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is no need to buy a license. You can just download it and use it for free."
"Our licensing model wasn't user-specific; instead, we paid fees for the engine and maintenance. As we didn't have a support contract, maintenance fees were likely nonexistent. Regarding the upgrade, we had an account for the initial two or three years, and considering the features provided by the solution, the pricing was reasonable."
"Despite not being extremely low-cost, the pricing appears reasonable, making it a profitable and viable choice for companies that prioritize data security and adhere to specific policies."
"The product is reasonably priced."
"The price is comparable."
"So, there are plans for licensing. There are subscription-based and usage-based licenses. Also, there are licenses for exceptional analytics, etc. In short, there are different models of licensing for every enterprise."
"You pay for this solution based on IPUs, Informatica Processing Units. This depends on how much data you process and how much memory you consume from the cloud provider, and you pay as you go."
"We switched to Informatica PIM because it was cheaper than the Oracle solution. It is cheaper initially, but they will bundle it later. This is what happens in the industry."
"I'm not sure about the most recent pricing trends, but I don't believe it's significantly different from PowerCenter. I believe it is nearly the same."
"The pricing is quite flexible."
"Informatica MDM's pricetag should come down. They have to cut some costs."
"In terms of the licensing for Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services, we had the option of paying based on the number of users and paying based on the volume of data, and we went with the data volume licensing option. Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services isn't as expensive as CIG. The pricing for it is okay, so I'm rating it a four out of five in terms of pricing. We did use the email verification and address validation services which weren't part of the contract, so we had to pay additional fees for those services."
"The pricing is moderate, falling in the middle range—not excessively low nor overly expensive."
"We didn't come across any additional licensing fees."
