Plenty of useful feature and reliable
We use Asigra for backups I have found all the features useful in the solution. I have been using Asigra for approximately two months. The solution is stable. The six people in our IT department are using the solution. The initial setup was a medium difficulty level. Some parts were complex…

Continuous replication has protected critical servers and supports seamless disaster recovery drills
Some features that I personally feel can be improved are more simplified monitoring and reporting. As I previously mentioned, the console shows the replication status. If it had more detailed dashboards or built-in reports for DR readiness, it would make it easier for the teams to track everything in one place. Another improvement would be cost visibility and optimization guidance in optimizing the cost and also giving us visibility of it. Because the staging resources and replication storage are running continuously, it would be very helpful for organizations and users if AWS provided clearer cost insights, recommendations, and remediations to optimize the DR environment. It would also be useful if AWS added more automation options for application-level recovery, such as easier ways to handle IP changes, domain name system (DNS) updates, or application dependencies during failover. Additionally, we can simplify the setup and configuration process. For someone new to the service, understanding the staging settings, launch templates, and networking configurations can take some time. Setup simplicity and more detailed monitoring and alerting features would be beneficial. If we could add that, we can easily track the replication health, lag, and potential issues. Instead of relying on other additional tools for monitoring and alerting features, we can rely on AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery itself.

Pros

"Once you have Asigra, you are set, it’s a rock solid platform that works every time."
"Cloud backup is easier to manage and administer than our previous tape solution."
"Asigra's agent-less capabilities make it a very convenient solution to implement."
"Smooth integration into customer's environment, interactive UI."
"We can provide a reliable service to our customers."
"The Asigra product on the whole is a fantastic solution and I would highly recommend this as it delivers everything our business and our subsequent customers required."
"Asigra's client-less approach is one of the best in the industry."
"Virtual Disaster Recovery in version 13 is a game-changer, especially for VMWare shops."
"It's on the cheaper side and not too expensive for users."
"Technical support has been very good. They usually respond quickly to our requests."
"The solution is dependent on the network bandwidth. For example, if they have a bandwidth of 10Mbps the solution will run a little heavier. If the bandwidth is good the solution runs well."
"The initial setup is pretty straightforward, it's not complex."
"It provides our disaster recovery solution. It works fine in our tests."
"Some of the most valuable features of this product include its ability to manage disaster recovery effectively."
"For regular backup and restore solutions, this product is fine."
"What I like about ECR AWS is that it is a fully managed service, so I don't need to manage the underlying infrastructure or worry about scalability in AWS concerning building, maintenance, security, and high availability."

Cons

"More integration with leading storage solutions."
"The GUI isn't the slickest, because Asigra has opted to focus on features and capability over a shiny interface."
"They should improve the malware scanning capabilities, extending it to protect cloud application data."
"I think Asigra still needs to simplify their GUI."
"Some more work on reporting tools is required to help get better auto-generated information and analysis from the system."
"Asigra's implementation and day-to-day costs are very high; necessary features can significantly increase the cost of implementation."
"There are improvements required with the virtualization solution, I'm sure we will see a significant change in 2017."
"At present, downloading the relevant files and placing them into a directory on the DS-System is a little cumbersome and open to error/malicious use."
"The product could be improved by incorporating more AI-driven automation for deployment and additional security features. These enhancements would make the solution even more user-friendly and secure."
"However, the user interface and monitoring features could be improved to make the overall experience better."
"In its current state, ECL integrates with CloudWatch for basic logging and monitoring, yet improvements could include more detailed logs for specific actions, like when I perform actions such as push or pull."
"Pricing could be improved."
"Because the replication is continuous and block-level, if a production server is hit by ransomware, the encrypted garbage data is often replicated to the DR site in near-real time."
"CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is charging clients $20 to do the DR backups. It is an expensive solution."
"I would say it did not provide enough flexibility for all our backup needs."
"The failback could be improved. It should be more intuitive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of Asigra could improve, it is expensive. We have purchased an annual license."
"Asigra is priced competitively, but requires technical expertise to operate, optimize, and maintain its services."
"They license us on a per machine basis. We have a set number of machines, which we have licensed."
"I feel the product's pricing is a good value. Licensing is pretty straightforward."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing an eight out of ten."
"It has saved us money from having to buy hardware for disaster recovery."
"Where the price adds up, there are CloudEndure licenses, then there is the AWS environment, and finally, there is the AWS storage, so cumulatively, it adds up."
"The pricing is better now that they had come out with the Tier 2 which replicates a little less often. In comparison to what I would have been spending with any other type of solution, the pricing is fair."
"I rate the price of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery a six out of ten."
"We were happy with the pricing that they gave us."
