Comes at a good price and has a good cloud console
We usually sell Aruba Instant where there is no need for more than four or five switches. It is generally recommended for very small companies where we don't need more than three or four switches We are using it only for very small companies. We have had a reduction in time, but it is not that…
Prasad Wijesooriya - PeerSpot reviewer
Well-suited for mobile and portable device usage but issues with stability
The problem is that when the number of users increases, TP-Link automatically drops the speed, and in terms of coverage, it falls short. We are not using any industrial-level equipment or accuracy. We are looking for something at the industrial level, advanced Access Points, not the basic ones from TP-Link. Omada Access Points could be improved in terms of connectivity and speed. That is the main thing. The other thing is security. Currently, most people are sharing their passwords, allowing unauthorized users to access Wi-Fi networks. So, the main areas for improvement are security, accessibility, and speed.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I can implement it at small sites, and I can also implement it at mid-sized locations. It is very flexible. It is really nice and useful for customers who have many small sites."
"The coverage of the solution is great."
"The most valuable features of the solution are in the areas like routing and VLAN."
"The simplicity of the dashboard is one of the most valuable features. It's easy to use, and manage and the security features are robust. We can block unauthorized connections and create secure SSIDs."
"Aruba Instant is a cloud-managed solution that can be managed from the cloud."
"The most valuable feature is that it provides a redundant wireless connection for a client."
"I like the Instant On switches and the AP22"
"The product's initial setup phase was straightforward, considering that the tool offers a ZTP feature."
"The solution has been dependable and has kept up with modern technology."
"Omada Access Points are very good in terms of wired technologies and wired connectivity."
"This product is easy to use."
"The solution's most valuable feature is its price."
"Omada is a good solution that I would recommend, and it is less expensive while providing good results."
"Its sturdiness and cost-effectiveness are the most valuable features."
"Omada is easy to manage, has cloud management features, and is easy to set up."
"When this solution is set up, it is solid. It offers fast deployment."

Cons

"Although built-in troubleshooting tools are available, they are not at all intuitive to use. Aruba Instant lacks decent documentation to use for troubleshooting wireless issues (fortunately there aren’t many)."
"They could provide a centralized system to manage switches incorporated into multiple branches."
"The Central cloud management (optional) is far behind the competition in features, ease of use, and dependability. I have tried Aruba Central a few times over the years and, in my option, it is not where it needs to be for serious consideration in production environments."
"The reach of the solution could be improved. It could be a bit stronger."
"It would be better if Aruba Instant could provide more security for customers."
"Aruba Instant can improve by increasing the gigabit range of the switch or by adding additional management features and tools. It can be helpful."
"I believe there's room for improvement in monitoring, especially when troubleshooting issues. Currently, there's limited intelligence around monitoring. It needs to improve stability and scalability."
"Technical support needs improvement. We use the forum for technical support assistance, but it's not enough. If you're talking with a technician, they're in India. They cannot give you the service that you need. Sometimes have problems with some personal services and technical support is not helpful in this area."
"Omada could add some API integrations that would help with our automated solution. We're trying to integrate, and we're having some issues because some of the calls are not there. The API still needs some development."
"Omada needs improvement in the distance it can cover."
"The price of the solution is an area requiring improvement since I want the solution to be made available at a cheaper price than its current market price."
"Upgrading the hardware capabilities to newer versions like Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 would be a helpful improvement."
"It is less affordable for smaller businesses."
"Omada's ordering platform could be improved, though. Some of their distributors are a pain to work with."
"TP-Link Auranet EAP is not very efficient, they need to improve it."
"Aruba has better scaling capabilities."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The setup cost varies based on each organization's requirements but it is within reason."
"We pay about $300 per access point."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"The customers do not have to pay for licensing."

"Some in the hospitality industry use the solution because it's cheaper and doesn't require licenses."

"I would rate the pricing a five out of ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive."
"Its benefit is that it is cost effective."

"The price is affordable, and we haven't had any additional costs due to having a limited number of users."
"TP-Link provides solutions that are more cost-effective than other well-known brands."
"On a scale of one to ten for pricing, with one being cheap and ten being expensive, I would rate Omada Access Points at a one for its cost-effectiveness."
