A powerful and easy-to-use repository that does automatic updates
Articulate 360 got me out from different offering tools that did not offer the same capabilities or usability that Articulate 360 offers. It's really hard to explain it without diving into other tools and just telling how awful they were. Articulate 360 was a revelation for everyone in my field. The solution was very powerful and easy, and I can do so many different things. It just kept going and going, and it snowballed into this thing where it's now the industry standard, and that's really helpful.

Modules and rich feedback have transformed health sciences courses and now improve student success
The best feature Canvas LMS offers is modules. The ability to build a sequential learning path with conditional release, where students complete one item before unlocking the next, is something health sciences faculty love because knowledge builds on itself in their programs. I set up those modules using SpeedGrader, which is another tool that gets used constantly. Being able to grade a submission, view the rubric, leave inline comments, and audio feedback all in one place is a genuine improvement over what we had previously. The LTI integration framework allows us to have Turnitin, Panopto, and Zoom all connected, and they work seamlessly within Canvas rather than feeling bolted on. SpeedGrader specifically has changed how faculty approach feedback. Before, many instructors left minimal feedback because the process was cumbersome. Now, with inline annotation and audio comments, faculty leave much richer feedback because it is actually fast to do. Students have noticed and commented on this in course evaluations. Canvas LMS has positively impacted my organization by increasing student satisfaction with the learning environment noticeably. The LMS-related complaints that used to come up regularly in course evaluations, such as not being able to find things, things not working on phones, and confusing navigation, have basically disappeared. Faculty course build time has also improved. A faculty member who knows Canvas can build a solid course structure in a fraction of the time it took in Blackboard. I can share specific outcomes that show how LMS-related complaints to our help desk dropped by about 40% after the migration. SpeedGrader has meaningfully reduced grading time. Faculty who used to spend whole weekends on grading are getting through it faster.

Pros

"The most valuable features are the speed of development and professionalism of the output that comes from the system. It is also easy to translate to LMS or LXP systems. The storyline tool is also good for more advanced projects. The product has an integrated review valuable tool for getting quick feedback collected in one place while training is being developed."
"The platform's most valuable feature is trackability with an interactive element."
"Overall, I believe it is a very good product."
"Canvas LMS is the best solution because they have enabled scalability and cutting-edge technology transfer through Thomas Bravo, a multi-billion dollar company and will soon have the financial backing and support of KKR at close to $5 Billion."
"The assessment tools in Canvas significantly contribute to educational outcomes by allowing instructors to create and manage assessments effectively."
"We have been using Canvas LMS, and overall, it has served our needs well for managing courses and general settings."
"They have a more extensive support base in terms of infrastructure."
"It's easy to follow. It flows well, and it's easy to use."
"Its easy adaptability to whatever form or methodology you are using to teach is valuable; it tends to be seamless, and it is very much a self-intuitive product."
"The solution is easy to access."

Cons

"Articulate 360 is slow to implement future enhancement requests. We would also like to see more flexibility in the layout of the courses."
"Articulate 360 could have a better video editor and make their audio editor a little more robust."
"There could be more tutorials available on the platform for new users."
"The new quizzes situation has been going on for a long time, and faculty patience is running thin."
"In our working, we are encountering many challenges with Canvas LMS. One of the major area is their business model which is having a very different pricing structure. The structure is made in such a way that the license fee is needed to be paid for the complete year even if the student has been enrolled for a programme of short duration. This structure is not conducive with our needs and hence, in the past few years, been increasing our costs manifold. Along with this, Canva LMS also lacks many functionalities such as notifications and adaptive learning. There is a specific issue with the licensing model that affects us in continuous education. The inability to reuse a license for the same course in different terms hinders our cost efficiency. For instance, if a program runs from January to April, we are required to pay for the license twice within the same academic year. This contrasts with other platforms like Hyper, where reusing a license is possible, allowing us to use the same license multiple times in different terms. Along with the use, we are exploring the integration of artificial intelligence into our processes, and Canvas LMS falls short in this regard. While some platforms allow connections with external AI services, Canvas does not currently offer built-in artificial intelligence capabilities, a feature we find valuable for enhancing the learning experience."
"There are a couple of areas that could be improved. Firstly, the discussion feature is not very interactive and can be slow to respond, making it less intuitive at the moment. This is an aspect that needs substantial improvement. Another point to consider is related to the cost of the LMS system. It's perceived as relatively expensive, which has led to discussions about transitioning away from Canvas, potentially to a more cost-effective alternative. This cost-related aspect is a significant factor to consider when implementing such a system."
"The solution could be upgraded and improved."
"It would be nice to be able to do more real-time comprehensive reporting with Canvas LMS."
"The learning curve is not steep, but it is intermediate."
"I think the main thing for first-time professors is that I probably underestimated how much work I had to put into learning how to use it the first time I used it."
"The product could be integrated with a talent management system."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Articulate 360 is a little bit expensive, but we get a decent value for money."
"The product is expensive."
"The platform can be expensive for smaller organizations with fewer students."
"Canvas LMS is low-priced compared to other vendors."
"Canvas LMS is an affordable solution."
"The pricing of Canvas is satisfactory for my university. We have negotiated a good price, especially considering that we are a large university with twenty-six campuses across the country. Canvas offers a favorable pricing model for academic institutions, and the cost is reasonable. However, in continuous education, the challenge lies not in the price itself but in the business model. The requirement to pay for the entire year when our students may only use the license for a shorter duration creates challenges. The inability to adjust the licensing based on actual usage is a significant drawback for us, making the effective cost higher compared to other platforms like Hyper Learning"
