Strategic threat intelligence has improved detection speed and consistently reduces analyst workload
Anomali can be improved in various aspects. Its AI-driven automation can further advance, and AI-powered investigation summaries can improve. User experience could be enhanced through simplification of workflows. Better board-level cyber risk dashboards could provide easier visualization. Additionally, Anomali could work on simplifying the pricing structure. Although it excels in threat intelligence aggregation and operationalization, stronger GenAI capability, improved executive reporting, and a more intuitive workflow for analysts would further increase SOC efficiency and add more business value. Regarding Anomali's AI capabilities, governance and security are quite good. Anomali has incorporated AI and machine learning primarily to improve correlation and prioritization. These capabilities are valuable but could be more mature. The platform could achieve better threat correlation, prioritization, more anomaly detection, and allow AI to accelerate intelligence analysis while further improving quality and relevance. The accuracy and reliability of Anomali's AI output are fairly reasonable and good. The AI engine works well, but this capability could be improved. Better threat correlation with threat actors, certain indicators of compromise, malware, and campaigns is possible. Threat prioritization could increase, and alert noise could be reduced through further de-duplication. While reasonable, this is not the best available, and other products possibly have more AI maturity, such as Recorded Future and CrowdStrike Falcon.

Ensuring long-term reliability while seeking internal email management enhancements
Prisma is a commercial name of the firewall now, but we don't work with the cloud product. Only our company is using it and we do not recommend it to customers. For us, it's transparent because it's a cloud product, so we don't really know the version as it's always updated. We have not had any problem, but it's difficult to report on what's going on because some days they can wash out perhaps 100 mails, and then it's difficult to say how many attacks you have reached. The right email has been washed out and then nobody has complained. We do not use the Threat Visualization feature; as we are in MX, the mail is washed out before it is in the mail inbox of the user, thus avoiding any problem requiring a reservation. In fact, there is no integration with existing security frameworks. The only problem we can have is that as we have no API interface, there is no inspection of internal mail. I rate Trellix Advanced Threat Defense a nine out of ten.

Continuous network insight has improved early threat detection and streamlined investigations
Overall, we have a positive experience with Trellix Network Detection and Response, but like any enterprise security solution, there are areas where it can continue to improve. One area would be user interface and dashboard customization. While the platform provides a lot of valuable information, new users can sometimes face a learning curve when navigating and investigating and creating customized views. More intuitive dashboards would simplify workflows and help analysts access critical information even faster. Another area for improvement is reporting and analytics. The existing reporting capabilities are useful, but more flexibility and customizable reporting options would make it easier to generate executive-level summaries, compliance reports, and operational metrics for different audiences.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Anomali positively impacts our organization, notably improving our vulnerability management program under reducing attack surface management."
"Anomali has positively impacted our organization with many improvements since we started using it, as we receive many block hits from them, and we can say that our coverage has been extended to 90% because we do MITRE mapping."
"Anomali is a very versatile platform, quite effective, and very fast when it comes to downloading and maintaining the information of the indicators of compromise."
"We now have a very robust collection of threat intelligence based on the capabilities that Anomali provides."
"Anomali has positively impacted my organization and my clients by helping them improve threat visibility, accelerate incident response, and make better use of their resources."
"I think it's one of the awesome tools I've worked with to date."
"I have seen a return on investment with Anomali, as it improves analyst investigation time, enhances threat visibility, and supports fast incident responses."
"Anomali has impacted my organization positively because our SOC team, which is actively monitoring all the tools—either SIM, SOAR, or threat intelligence platform—operates in multiple shifts."
"Provides good exfiltration, and is an all-in-one product."
"I recommend this solution because of its ease of use."
"The fact that in 10 years, we have had no problem is the most valuable feature for us; it's really a washing machine, but the only problem we face is that it's difficult to report on this product."
"The most valuable features are the administration console and its detection and response module."
"It is very scalable."
"It is stable and reliable."
"Its greatest strength is the DXL client which can rapidly disseminate attack information to all clients via the McAfee Agent instead of going through the ePO server."
"It was easy to set up initially."
"It protects from signature-based attacks and signature-less attacks. The sandboxing technology, invented by FireEye, is very valuable. Our customers go for FireEye because of the sandboxing feature. When there is a threat or any malicious activity with a signature, it can be blocked by IPS. However, attacks that do not have any signatures and are very new can only be blocked by using the sandboxing feature, which is available only in FireEye. So, FireEye has both engines. It has an IPS engine and a sandbox engine, which is the best part. You can get complete network protection by using FireEye."
"FireEye is so effective at blocking attacks that we were even able to defer an upgrade of our IPS solution, saving a significant amount of money."
"Application categorization is the most valuable feature for us. Application filtering is very interesting because other products don't give you full application filtering capabilities."
"Trellix Network Detection and Response definitely helps make investigations faster and more efficient."
"Its ability to find zero-day threats, malware and anything malicious has greatly improved my customer's organization, especially for protecting the users' browser."
"Trellix Network Detection and Response offers excellent diversity and support for different capabilities because it is built and composed of different services."
"The best features that Trellix Network Detection and Response offers are visibility, threat detection, and immediate response, which allows us to take action almost instantly while keeping proof through proper data capture and maintaining logs for future analysis to prevent attacks and ensure that we have the right policies and controls."
"It allows us to be more hands off in checking on emails and networking traffic, as we can set up a bunch of different alerts and have it alert us, giving us a better view of our network and our email environment."

Cons

"I can mention one point regarding improvements for Anomali, which is more enhanced reporting flexibility."
"An area for improvement is the intelligence sharing within the Anomali community. The tagging system can be inconsistent, as any company can use any tags for their reporting."
"Anomali can be improved by expanding its capability to capture a broader range of threats because it currently has limitations and may not catch everything occurring in the world, especially from the dark web."
"My experience with Anomali's customer support has not gone so well for us."
"Support in the past has been top-notch, but recent trends indicate that it has taken a back seat, as we often don't get answers for days."
"Anomali Enterprise could improve by combining all the other tools' features into one solution."
"One more improvement I would mention is regarding compromised credential monitoring. Anomali should increase their capability to fetch details from various dark web solutions where threat actors post compromised credentials."
"I believe Anomali could be improved by making the user interface more user-friendly."
"The only problem we can have is that as we have no API interface, there is no inspection of internal mail."
"I would like to see future versions of the solution incorporate artificial intelligence technology."
"Lacks remote capabilities not dependent on the internet."
"The support on their side is not readily available. It takes a while."
"Make the ATD appliance a part of the whole product offering and take the whole thing onto the cloud."
"The initial setup was industry standard complex. It takes awhile and has a lot of planning involved. It could be simplified with product redesign."
"Make the ATD system a part of the whole product and take the whole thing onto the cloud. While it is there already, it is not to the same level as the on-premise version."
"Some of our customers have mentioned the lack of a tool that would allow for remote capabilities without being attached to the internet."
"If you want to search the hashes in the environment, you need to put in IOCs one by one, making it a very hectic job."
"The customer service is not that good."
"Management of the appliance could be greatly improved."
"The product's integration capabilities are an area of concern where improvements are required."
"It would be great if we could create granular reports based on the protocols, types of attacks, regions of attack, etc. Also we would like to easily be able to add exceptions to rules in cases of false positives."
"A lot of false positives."
"To improve Trellix Network Detection and Response, I suggest enhancing reporting customization; the reports can be much better, and I should have the ability to customize them much more freely."
"Stability is fine as long as we don't go deeper into the system. Once we go deeper into the SSM, inspection, and decryption, we get some issues."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"When comparing the price of Anomali Enterprise to other solutions it is in the medium to high range. However, I am satisfied with the price."
"Our licensing fees for this solution are approximately one million dollars per year."
"The product is expensive, but it is better than the rest of them in the industry."
"There are some additional services that I understand the vendor provides, but our approach was to package all of the features that we were looking to use into the product."
"Its price is a bit high. A small customer cannot buy it. Its licensing is on a yearly basis."
"Because of what the FireEye product does, it has significantly decreased our mean time in being able to identify and detect malicious threats. The company that I work with is a very mature organization, and we have seen the meantime to analysis decrease by at least tenfold."
"Pricing and licensing are reasonable compared to competitors."
"The pricing is a little high."
"The tool is a bit pricey."
"The pricing is fair, a little expensive, but fair. We've evaluated other products, and they're similarly priced."
"We're partners with Cisco so we get a reasonable price. It's cheaper than Palo Alto in terms of licensing."
