We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Overall, we've been very pleased with the performance.""The artificial intelligence feature is very good.""The solution is pretty generic and easy to use.""The most valuable feature of Juniper Mist is the Virtual Network Assistant, powered by artificial intelligence.""The most valuable feature of Juniper Wireless Access Points (AP Series) is the ability to troubleshoot ports on the network. Additionally, when there is an update on the APs they are able to reboot quickly reducing downtime. Other solutions have a longer downtime when updates are done.""With Mist, every Wednesday they roll out new features.""You can easily monitor, manage, and cover all your IT equipment.""The most valuable feature of the solution is Marvis, the AI-driven network management system."

"The features aren't much different than those in Aruba, but deployment is easier to configure and the pricing is better.""One feature that differentiates Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess Stellar from some other vendors is the fact that on-premise OmniVista licenses are perpetual.""We are very satisfied with the performance.""Express in default configuration mode with first turn-on is easy to set up and deploy from a medium installation standpoint.""There is a definite ROI with this product. This product creates a baseline of technology that will be a means to grow from five to ten years from now. By using this solution, it is an investment on the installation of that baseline.""I have worked with different solutions in the past and switched to Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess Stellar because of its quick installation time. It requires no additional preparation. The product is highly stable. I rate it a nine out of ten. The support of this solution is great. The timeliness of their responses is crucial for me. When I raise an issue, I can count on receiving a prompt reply, eliminating the need for extensive online searches or phone calls.""The solution allows you to see the SNMP packets, the DPI packets, and the SNMP server.""The initial setup is pretty straightforward."

"From the WiFi aspect, it's very intuitive and easy to use. The solution enables me to manage my entire WiFi from anywhere in the world...""The meshing capabilities are the most valuable feature. When I am going in-between buildings, my phone doesn't have to pick up different WiFi. They are all the same. Even in-between the buildings, I stay connected.""The product's deployment is straightforward.""The initial setup of NETGEAR Insight Access Points was straightforward.""Our company sometimes uses the solution's technical support, and we have seen that they sort out our general problems quickly.""I now have the ability to remote access my network. That works extremely well. I can access it from any place. I don't need to be physically at the device. This saves me on time and travel.""The metrics demonstrate that NETGEAR really does a good job of balancing the load between the various access points on the networks and this results in an elimination of downtime.""I'm able to do a lot of things, because the GUI is designed very well. I'm able to remotely make certain changes via my phone and apply them right away. It makes life easier when it comes to managing the equipment. The Insight management solution phone app is very good. It enables me to do what I want to do."

Cons
"Improvement is needed in the user-friendliness of Juniper Mist, particularly in enhancing the interaction with AI features.""If you want to do more specific stuff, it's a bit limited.""I need a bit more time with it before criticizing the features.""It would be helpful to have even stronger security features to help protect against interference from other nearby access points that aren't part of our network.""There is room for improvement in terms of support and installation.""Juniper Wireless Access Points (AP Series) could improve if the MIST platform had a built-in master key. This would be an advantage.""Juniper Wireless AP can improve by continually improving its reporting and integration with other systems.""The price could be better."

More Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points Cons →

"It needs to be faster in order to process and transmit bigger packets.""I would prefer to have the integrated heat map feature provided by the basic controller in the Solution instead of purchasing an external one. Accessing this capability directly within the controller's access point would be convenient.""Better integration with third-party systems is what our customers are expecting in the future.""There are occasional OS bugs.""The current implementation of our Guest Access network in isolation for Express mode is very complicated in comparison with leading market solutions.""Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess Stellar's radio management side could be improved.""It is not possible to integrate Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess Stellar with third-party software like Opera, a property management system (PMS).""If the customers plan to go on the cloud side, they need encryption and daily communications from a security perspective."

More Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess Stellar Cons →

"I have some frustrations with the ease of use. It tends to be sluggish. The graphical interface is pretty, but not useful. They have this tree that shows connected devices, which makes no sense whatsoever because the labeling field of the tree truncates all the items to the point that it's almost useless. You can't even tell what it is. I would prefer a spreadsheet list of the gear as opposed to a graphical representation.""The biggest issue I've had is that it works very well with the WiFi, but it does not offer any assistance at all with the routers. You can't control them or manage them at all. As soon as you want to use anything on the network side—because I have multiple 28-port switches—you can't manage them using this app.""Software-wise, they need to provide the ability to kick users out. If multiple users are abusing the system or the network, I should be able to block them for a time and, when I need to unblock them, I should be able to do so by using their MAC ID. That feature might already be there and I just don't know about it.""While the data throughput does provide us with full insight into data being used, we find that it's not very accurate.""The product's UI needs to be simplified and made more straightforward.""A con is the backend system which is very, very slow.""My major problem is right now, the area which I need to cover is around 7,000 to 10,000 square feet...I would like NETGEAR Insight Access Points to extend the area coverage they provide.""Ubiquiti is a very good company. NETGEAR should look at that model and expand on its remote capabilities. Ubiquiti seems to have a better product."

  • "The price is in the range of other brands like Cisco, maybe a little cheaper but you get the same features, facilities, and security. Licensing is something Alcatel is making changes to. A few years ago you would buy a WLAN solution from Alcatel for half the price of Cisco, but you would spend the same amount on licensing. Today this is different and the licensing is cheaper."
  • "We find the price comparable to other products on the market."
  • "The price of this product is average and it is a one-time, perpetual license."
  • "It's pricey, but better than similar solutions."
  • "Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess Stellar is a mid-range solution with respect to pricing."
  • "At times, it appears that the solution's pricing is slightly higher. This makes it challenging to persuade customers who primarily focus on the price."

  • "Price-wise, it is a little too high, about $20 higher than what it should be, but it's worth it. It's cheaper than Cisco's access point, but the products are not apples to apples."
  • "It wasn't much more than 100 dollars a year. For the devices that we have, the pricing was pretty fair."
  • "The pricing seems to be reasonable."
  • "For what you get, the price of Insight access points is very reasonable."
  • "Their pricing is perfect for smaller businesses who are money and budget conscious. There are a lot of other solutions out there that are two to three times more expensive."
  • "I can source the stuff pretty quickly wherever I go through the distributor. There is pricing available at NETGEAR if you can spend between $2,000 and $5,000 on a solution. So, there is special pricing that they can help with. The vendor's reps are very responsive. They have a good channel system."
  • "It is an expensive solution."
  • "My company does not need to pay anything related to the solution's licensing costs."
