Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

User interface streamlines task automation and improves efficiency
akaBot made a noticeable difference at Wika because it is lightweight and easy to use, and moreover, akaBot has a forum to answer many questions. The ease of use stands out because the design of akaBot is very friendly. The best features that akaBot offers in my experience include the UI automation in the browser or in the Windows application. What I appreciate most about the UI automation in browsers or Windows applications is the auto-generate selector in a browser and Windows application. This feature makes a difference because it reduced most of the time developing the bot.

Increases productivity with automation and robust orchestration capabilities
The community is very powerful, with extensive knowledge bases available. There are ready-made workflows, integration with other products, a nice user interface, and reporting. The tool is flexible, agent-based or agentless. It allows significant automation and has robust orchestration and reporting capabilities. It is easy to configure and use, leading to increased efficiency across our IT processes.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We are able to sell it very easily compared to its competitors. Another piece is the stability part. The third piece is something which is the customer experience: The ease to work with it. The Automation Anywhere, as a partner, is very easy to work with. They are there when you need them, whether you are in the initial journey of automation, you are figuring out what is the right opportunity, or whether you are in the journey of deploying the bot or support. They are there with you at each of those stages."
"From an organizational perspective, it has improved how we work and determine, "Is there a better way to do things?" and, "How can we challenge the status quo?" This builds a continuous improvement mindset throughout our organization."
"Overall, the commands provided have enough range to complete almost any task, with creative out-of-the-box thinking required sometimes for workarounds."
"Our workforce has limited capacity, and by adding this solution we can increase the amount of work coming in without adding to our workforce."
"I have seen a return on investment with Automation Anywhere, as we have achieved a value of 10 million for a single process in one year, helping that team to accelerate more and bring value to the organization."
"We have been able to take an accounting task and clear a very large backlog, therefore being completely up-to-date on the task since implementing a bot on it."
"Being able to implement automation is valuable. We take the business logic and provide a solution to the client. Defining the intelligence pipeline is the most interesting and challenging aspect for me."
"This is a solution that I recommend."
"akaBot made a noticeable difference at Wika because it is lightweight and easy to use, and moreover, akaBot has a forum to answer many questions."
"The cost is affordable, and it fits our requirements."
"Time savings with automation. We've gone from weeks to deploy systems to minutes."
"The community is very powerful, with extensive knowledge bases available."
"It's very stable. If you ask me for the success rate metrics, it's more than 90% for both."
"It has made the implementation of our IT software policies faster."
"We have saved few million dollars with OO."
"The automation, hands down, is the future of our company and the direction we're going in, letting us deploy servers in 15 minutes instead of two weeks and even embed monitoring into that same automated service for a huge benefit."
"As an integrator of Operations Orchestration, we find that the most valuable feature is really the support that HP provides."
"The ability to basically create any type of flow I want to, go and get the root cause, and to control workflow without people having to know everything that needs to be done."

Cons

"If you want to use Chrome then there are three or four additional steps that need to be completed."
"Also, we're seemingly plagued with certain technological issues or bugs."
"Automation Anywhere has to be integrated with machine learning and AI systems to read images and videos, then put the information into another format."
"From an ease of use point of view, on a scale of one to ten with ten being really easy, I would rate the tool a six."
"While we have been developing over time, there have been issues with stability."
"When we try to process structured documents but with some little pen marks, improper partitions, or faded documents, IQ Bot fails to extract data properly out of them."
"Sometimes, the bot struggles to initiate on the cloud, even when everything appears in place. This issue occasionally requires uninstalling and reinstalling a component on my PC, although I cannot recall the specific component involved."
"We are having some challenges when it comes to stability."
"If they can provide more intelligent automation, it would be beneficial."
"I used UiPath before akaBot, and I think UiPath has more features than akaBot."
"If you're running it in a Windows environment, you're tied to the inefficiency and quirkiness of Windows."
"But what I would like are more functionalities around code release."
"Simple things are missing – being unable to easily capture flow inputs in an automated fashion is one (I shouldn’t have to write an SQL query for this)."
"We have had some issues with memory usage, but that's something that we beefed up and made the system more robust."
"However, if we need help with a problem on our own, it's difficult to get the right support."
"In order for our customers to have a deeper integration of Operations Orchestration, it needs to be offered with more cloud options, whether that's public or private or hybrid."
"Faster integration with different applications."
"Customer service is one of those areas that definitely needs to be improved. 3.5 out of 10 Technical Support: Needs improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Currently, it stands as one of the more expensive RPA tools available."
"We save 34,000 hours of time per year and have recouped up to $6000 in lost revenue."
"I would rate the cost of Automation Anywhere as a six out of ten, with ten being the most expensive."
"In terms of monetary savings, we automated a bot in three days that has saved us $30,000 in costs."
"We generally follow the Gain-Sharing Pricing model, which enables the customer to start getting the RPA benefits right from day one of their implementation."
"This is a comprehensive automation offering with a scalable architecture and flexible pricing models."
"On a yearly basis, our licensing costs are about $80,000. There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fees."
"They recently launched a Community Edition, which is okay, but they should have done this a long time ago."
Information not available
"The cost is very high compared to anything else available."
"I do not have experience with the pricing or licensing of the product."
