Room For Improvement

Auth0 requires improvements in reporting, admin flexibility, API support, documentation, pricing, and features like multi-tenancy and IoT integration.
Okta Platform needs improved uptime, user experience, integrations, pricing, documentation, automation, security, and expanded SSO and workflow features.
OneLogin's interface complexity, performance issues, and limited customization require improved UI, API, integration, documentation, and support.
The only area for improvement is that Auth0 Platform cannot handle requests for developing APIs for legacy systems, such as mainframe models, where ForgeRock and IBM Security Verify Access can be utilized.

Setup Cost

Auth0 offers competitive and clear pricing with efficient setup, but enterprise costs, especially for SSO, can be confusing.
Okta Platform pricing is moderate, with costs based on user numbers and features, justified by security and reliability.
OneLogin offers flexible, competitive pricing, making it an affordable, user-friendly choice compared to competitors like Okta.
A downside I remember mentioning is that pricing can be high at scale, though that is not a product issue; it relates more to the nature of large enterprise solutions.
Partner Account Manager at a wholesaler/distributor with 51-200 employees
Considering the amount of features I use, such as multi-factor authentication, it is affordable and comparatively less for the features it is giving compared to other existing platforms.
Associate Software Engineer at a computer software company with 201-500 employees
The cost of the solution itself was cost-effective enough that I didn't even need to compare it with EntraID.
CTO at Lambda-X Ophthalmics
Despite the cost, it's cheaper than the potential financial loss from a security breach.
IT Manager at Clear Channel
It is certainly not cheap, but the features that you get, the functionality that you get, and whatever use cases that you have, it definitely satisfies those.
Sr. Cloud Security Architect at a tech services company with 11-50 employees
The pricing per-user list drops when user counts rise and with multi-year commitments.
Identity and Access Management Specialist at a university with 10,001+ employees
The cost is less compared to Okta and Entra ID.
Senior Analyst - IDAM at Toll Holdings Limited
Overall, the pricing, setup, and licensing structure are transparent and deliver a good return on investment, especially when considering the operational efficiency and security improvements gained from using OneLogin.
Business Analyst at a tech vendor with 10,001+ employees
I consider the pricing of OneLogin to be competitive since it is cheaper than other products I used, such as Okta, which is beneficial for mid-size organizations.
Senior Cloud Engineer at Applied Cloud Computing

Valuable Features

Auth0 enhances security and flexibility, simplifying authentication with scalable solutions, customizable access, and robust compliance, boosting development efficiency.
Okta Platform enhances security and efficiency with SSO, MFA, and seamless integration, offering a user-friendly interface and reliability.
OneLogin enhances security and productivity with SSO, MFA, and easy integration, simplifying user access and reducing password fatigue.
Being able to execute custom code snippets within Auth0 Platform to set different access levels or provide messages to users who lack access to requested pages, along with tracking and notifications, is very beneficial.
Software Engineer at Arrowlytics, LLC
Key differences include time-saving features, everything in one place, many features, support for multi-tenancy, and management APIs for easy integration.
Senior Software Engineer at Concentrix Catalyst
A big point is identity federation, allowing connections across multiple identity providers, enabling users to log in using existing accounts due to databases and enterprise identity systems.
Partner Account Manager at a wholesaler/distributor with 51-200 employees
One of its most valuable features is its easy integration with various applications through its extensive application directory, offering hundreds or thousands of applications ready to configure.
IT Manager at Clear Channel
It offers around eight thousand five hundred out-of-the-box connectors, providing an edge over other tools.
Managing Consultant at a tech vendor with 10,001+ employees
For the end user, it is beneficial as they do not have to remember a password or keep the password on a post-it for different applications; they just authenticate once to access several services and service providers.
Technical Team Lead at a computer software company with 1,001-5,000 employees
Multi-Factor Authentication is generally useful for adding an extra layer of security, which is crucial, especially for the sensitive nature of the data we handle.
Developer Intern at Stealth
With SmartFactor Authentication, I can balance between them. I can give users an easy and smooth user experience as long as the risk indices are low, but I can implement pretty rigid authentication workflows if the risk gets higher.
Presales Manager at 1D Consulting
OneLogin's best features are its MFA capabilities as well as making it easier to access different applications depending on the user.
Consultant at a computer software company with 11-50 employees

Identity workflows have transformed how we secure logins and manage user access daily
There are different elements to the best features Auth0 Platform offers, and I have touched on them, particularly the ability to help applications authenticate and authorize their users and manage their identities. A big point is identity federation, allowing connections across multiple identity providers, enabling users to log in using existing accounts due to databases and enterprise identity systems. A strong security feature is provided, particularly with their MFA, multi-factor authentication, which includes bot detection and brute-force protection, along with breached password detection, which is really good as an added extra. Auth0 Platform has positively impacted our organization, particularly in terms of usability. While we are not selling it directly, I find the platform easy to use for authenticating different users. Our own services team handles the implementation, so I cannot comment on the ease of that process. However, whenever we have had contracts and bids to roll out services, it has been really easy. We have seen improved security due to the implementation of Auth0 Platform. User management, such as creating and deleting users, is all about enhancing the user experience, which is massive. We assist with password resets and account linking. The time to implement is shorter, and we maintain a consistent user experience with a secure login flow, benefiting from a faster implementation due to the universal login, providing a hosted login page customizable by developers.

Automated lifecycle management has cut onboarding times and now drives secure, clean access
Although I am a fan of Okta Platform overall, there are areas where it could improve security outcomes and reduce admin friction. My top improvement areas include the system log and analytics upgrade, which are great for point troubleshooting, but trending and root cause analysis across large tenants still require exporting to SIEM. Verbose queries and long-range retention costs can add up. Additionally, while certificate rotations are better than most, the process is still manual for busy portfolios, especially concerning multi-SP SAML certificate rotations and app metadata drift. Two more buckets of potential improvements for Okta Platform involve user experience and security. There is the issue of push fatigue and prompt sprawl, where users receive multiple prompts across different apps and sessions. I arrived at the rating of eight because the core controls are strong and reliable, but a few operational UX and UI gaps prevent it from being rated higher. The reasons for not giving it a nine or ten include ongoing issues concerning safety and change safety, the complexity of group rules and mappings, and the lack of robustness in policy management. Additionally, there remains a need for more manual involvement than necessary, especially for large portfolios and dual certificate rotation, along with proactive SP data metadata validation.

Unified sign-in has simplified access control and has supported end-to-end identity lifecycle
The authentication process is good, but sometimes the responsiveness to requests for enhancement is very slow. I sometimes face issues with platform stability, flexibility in configuration, and limited API availability. I experience downtimes two to three times per year. OneLogin's support team is sometimes very slow to respond. There is a feature limitation with mapping, as OneLogin does not provide one-to-all mapping. For client deployment, we need to create separate mappings for each request, and we cannot use the same mapping for multiple requests. Other areas that have room for improvement are related to API limitations. If a client requires more APIs, such as 5,000 or 6,000, OneLogin charges more. The API rate limits by default or the standard limit should provide more than 5,000. Additionally, OneLogin could provide more flexibility in configuration. These are the main limitations I have identified with OneLogin.
