Straightforward solution that provides disaster recovery to customers
Pros and Cons
  • "We haven't needed anyone to maintain or deploy the solution. The traditional Nutanix administrator can administer the solution."
  • "I think that Nutanix should support public clouds instead of the Nutanix data centers."

What is our primary use case?

Nutanix creates data centers to provide disaster recovery to customers. This product will reboot the customer's machines on a specific data center from Nutanix, if needed, in case of disaster.

What needs improvement?

I think that Nutanix should support public clouds instead of the Nutanix data centers. I think they should no longer invest in data centers and make that available for the public cloud. A customer can choose another way from Azure, but I'm not sure if Xi Leap has that functionality or not. I know the idea is to completely decommission that product.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used this solution for one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability a 4 out of 5.

Disaster Recovery as a Service
June 2022
Find out what your peers are saying about Nutanix, VMware, Microsoft and others in Disaster Recovery as a Service. Updated: June 2022.
610,812 professionals have used our research since 2012.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate the scalability a 4 out of 5.

How was the initial setup?

It's straightforward. The setup could be complex because it involves networking and the connection between two data centers. That could be complex depending on the type of connections that the customer wants to have. Nutanix did a good job making that very simple. It's simple, but it could be more complex depending on the networking from the customer side. On a scale of 1 to 5 for complexity, I would give it a 4. You might have to deal with some VPNs and network complexities to connect to data centers. We haven't needed anyone to maintain or deploy the solution. The traditional Nutanix administrator can administer the solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There are monthly and yearly subscriptions. I would give the pricing a 4 out of 5. Besides the license, there are additional costs with the network connection. The customer may want a direct connection between the two data centers and that has an extra cost.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate this solution 8 out of 10.
