The executive dashboard offers centralized visibility for added security
We are currently utilizing all three components of Trend Vision One across our entire infrastructure. Trend Vision One is deployed on our servers, provides anti-spam measures for our email through a cloud solution, and functions as an antivirus solution on end-user devices. All three products are sourced from Trend Micro. Trend Vision One - Cloud Security offers centralized visibility across all protection layers, enabling 24/7 monitoring of our environment and immediate issue resolution. If needed, we can also submit a ticket to Trend Micro for assistance. The executive dashboard helps identify abnormalities by highlighting them, allowing for immediate action. The primary benefit of implementing Trend Vision One has been the noticeable increase in network security. Since its implementation, we have observed a significant reduction in attacks on our network. Trend Vision One consolidates security across our network, enabling rapid response capabilities. Trend Vision One helps decrease our threat detection and response time. The platform suggests system improvements as needed, which we then review and implement. Trend Vision One helps decrease the time spent investigating false positives.

Consolidated data centers and improved backup and disaster recovery performance
The main point for improvement in VMware Cloud on AWS is the technical support. As for additional features, currently, to perform any automation, a subscription to Aria Operations is required, but that feature is being removed from VMware Cloud on AWS. I would prefer if essential automation functionalities were included directly within VMware Cloud on AWS rather than needing an additional subscription. Additionally, on the cost aspect, it would be beneficial to have ready-made reports for chargebacks against departments or projects without extensive analysis of compute, memory, and storage. When it comes to storage, a significant portion is reserved for management purposes, limiting usable storage. Following RAID configuration, we only have about 40% available for actual workload consumption. Consequently, estimating costs associated with storage becomes challenging. In summary, we need better price management, capacity management, and availability reporting in VMware Cloud on AWS. Currently, I rely on third-party tools for notifications, but such features should be readily available within VMware Cloud on AWS to ease the workload for administrators or operation heads.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like the solution's baselines."
"The product helps us understand our environment better."
"The stability is quite good."
"Virtual patching is one of the key features, which is executed with their IPS."
"I use the tool for security solutions. It's a leader in Gartner and Forrester Wave reports. Customers rely on these reports."
"It has the best EDR functionality for cloud and typical endpoints."
"Detection response and cloud conformity are valuable features."
"Vision One is versatile and can be integrated with many SIEMs. You're not limited to only one SIEM, such as Microsoft Sentinel. The API integrations are seamless, and we have all the documentation needed to integrate Vision One via API."
"It's a private solution, mainly. But with VMware on AWS, the best part is the ease of migration from VMware to VMware."
"The initial setup process is straightforward."
"A backup of one core application that previously took seven to eight hours now completes within one to one and a half hours after migrating to VMware Cloud on AWS."

Cons

"I would like to see more third-party integrations being added into Trend Vision One - Cloud Security, as it currently has a good amount of integrations but does not allow ingestion from many third-party solutions."
"I'd like to see mobile licenses included in the main license, similar to Kaspersky's model for future features."
"Trend Vision One - Cloud security aims to protect our assets, but the rapid spread of viruses and vulnerabilities through malicious emails remains a significant concern."
"Trend Vision One - Cloud Security could improve connections with different types of authentication and user groups concerning cloud services."
"The licensing model could be improved. To gain full coverage, you need to spend more to buy subscriptions for each kind of service they offer. It will start to be pricey if you want full coverage."
"While it provides some data protection within its security framework, it doesn't allow users to customize policies or create their own for specific needs."
"Trend Vision One - Cloud Security seems to have a preference for AWS Cloud over Azure and would be improved by focusing equally on both."
"Currently, we must procure and configure the server hardware independently, as we obtain the software separately from Trend Micro."
"There is one thing for improvement. To connect with VMware Cloud on AWS, you need to connect via some sort of IPS. Previously, there were no IPS features available."
"The main point for improvement in VMware Cloud on AWS is the technical support."
"The platform's cost could be reduced."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"While Trend Vision One - Cloud Security was a cost-effective solution for us in 2021, we've noticed a recent price increase that makes it less affordable."
"The pricing for Cloud One is reasonable because my costs scale up and down based on my infrastructure usage."
"With everything I deal with, Trend Micro Cloud One's pricing is somewhere in the middle."
"The is price is 25% cheaper than it was a couple of years ago, which is good."
"It's a slightly expensive product."
"One year ago, Trend transitioned to a credit system for licensing, which has confused users."
"The price could be lower. That is a bit of a consideration."
"I rate the solution's pricing a six out of ten."
"The pricing depends on the version and the number of virtual machines. Based on that, the cost can vary."
"The product is expensive."
