Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is easy to use and it has good performance.""I haven't used other mobile device management solutions, but compared to SCCM, we eliminate a lot of on-premises infrastructure and maintenance by using Intune.""Autopilot is the most valuable feature.""I believe that the solution is actually in Gartner's top quadrant at the moment for mobile device management.""It is a comprehensive security solution that not only controls access to enterprise resources but also tracks and prevents unauthorized access, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and preventing potential data loss scenarios.""At the moment, Autopilot is the most valuable feature.""It allows our clients to have the confidence to centrally manage policies for security. It helps them in securing the organization from a technology aspect.""The Asset Management and Auto Pilot are valuable features."

"It is very reliable, and their support is excellent.""The SOTI MobiControl Assist tool is very good for remote controlling devices for troubleshooting. SOTI MobiControl is very helpful.""I have experience with technical support. They are quite good. Also, they very quickly understand the issues and what are the requirements from my side. Response time is also good.""The other one would be just how easy it is to deploy applications.""We use SOTI MobiControl for managing Android device management.""The keywords menu is better than other MDM. They have an Out of Contact policy, which other MDMs don't have.""I've really enjoyed the use of the file sync when I'm administrating version control in my program.""The feature I find most valuable within Soti is the ability to reset or unlock a device. A lot of the devices that we use are in the field. We have locations in Dallas, San Diego, Seattle, Washington, and Phoenix, Arizona and there isn't always someone, within our company, who is managing these devices. Sometimes it's the doctors' offices that we partner with where they use these devices. Having the ability to remotely reset a device or unlock a device has been super-crucial for me."

"We can impose cybersecurity requirements.""The bigger vendors like VMware, Insight, and MobileIron can assign engineers to customers. You can work with them to develop the right competency to use the product.""It has good stability.""No issues with scalability.""We find it to be reliable.""The most valuable feature is policy-driven control of the devices.""The contained browser is a good feature.""App delivery and management platform that's user-friendly, with a good interface. Easy to scale, easy to set up, with good stability."

Cons
"It doesn't economize when you scale up. We have over 14,000 employees, and we have between 7,500 and 8,000 city-owned or personal devices being used to conduct city business. Its price can be improved. It is not a cheap solution.""Intune has some limitations when it comes to application updates for third-party applications. You can schedule an update, but when it's a package setup, you need to supercede and replace it each time.""The technical support could be improved.""More integration with monitoring tools is needed.""Microsoft Intune has a latency response time issue. The latency has room for improvement.""It's the granularity: 'Is your firewall on? Is BitLocker on?' It's not amazing granularity. But I've looked into other products, like Duo, and they're all similar.""It needs certificate provisioning for S/MIME purposes.""There are a few security features that are not available in Microsoft Intune, when compared to other products."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"There is room for improvement in the support.""The main feature that we would like to have with Soti is the ability to push an iOS update without having people come to my office. That is the main reason why we went with Soti. And that feature is not working on my version.""The pricing policy of SOTI is not stable. You buy it today at one price, and the following year, it becomes something like 5% or 7% higher. From my point of view, SOTI is a little bit weak in terms of implementation on the new Windows 10 devices, and they have to work on this. It can't compete with Intune and other solutions when it comes to Windows implementation. It almost doesn't work with iOS. It works well with Android.""I would like them to improve the process of enrolling Android devices. It's much more difficult to enroll Android devices than it is Windows CE devices. There are a lot more steps required.""Improving the reporting section would be beneficial for enhancing the product's overall functionality.""The solution could use better reporting.""The management console could be improved to be a little bit more user-friendly. Some of the stuff is a little bit cumbersome, some of it feels like an engineering solution, but otherwise it's pretty good.""In future releases, I would like to see a better configuration of the dashboard."

More SOTI MobiControl Cons →

"The setup was very difficult. It was not as easy as I had expected.""The SaaS environment is not very responsive at times, so the performance can be improved in that regard.""The only downside to the solution is that the dashboard is very confusing.""When it comes to deployment and maintaining security, there should be an integrated console where you have a singular view of all of the products from the same OEM.""The location service could improve and more integration with other devices, such as Android enterprise and Apple devices.""There are other solutions that might be better for certain use cases. This is not an all-purpose solution.""There are some bugs that our team needs to work around. It required some API integration required because visitor integration was not there. For example, we are currently working on a tunnel issue, and VMware doesn't have this solution.""The reverse proxy is not intuitive and it takes time to get it right, so this is something that can be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Consider the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite rather than choosing specific sub-components, e.g. only Microsoft Intune."
  • "There is a cost benefit of using Microsoft Intune because of the packaging with other Microsoft products."
  • "Microsoft Intune is a cost effective choice. It is less expensive than other products on the market."
  • "The purchase of the product was handled by someone else."
  • "I have no comment on pricing of the solution."
  • "The product is offered as part of a Microsoft standard bundle. The pricing can be competitive to Airwatch, and Maas360."
  • "For Microsoft 365 E5 clients, cost is not an issue as this product is one of the benefits."
  • "The price of Intune is included with the license for Office 365, so we don't have to pay anything extra for it."
  • More Microsoft Intune Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Pricing is okay, but when you buy your renewal of licenses - at the end of the period or the year - if you have a lot of devices, obviously, it's going to increase. In the end, it's kind of expensive."
  • "I thought pricing was kind of high, but I believe that Soti is probably the best out there for this type of software, so there's not much I can do about that. The licensing is annual, per device."
  • "They've been pretty flexible with us, because we've changed the way we do our licensing a few times. We did a yearly, and then we went back and we did a quarterly, and I think we're back to yearly right now. We've been able to work stuff out and pricing has gone down since the onset. We've got a better rate per device and it's reasonable. The licensing cost from SOTI usually doesn't scare anybody, away once it's explained."
  • "The solution that we were using costs less, but it didn't offer as much as Soti. It's comparable if you look at it over the five-year term."
  • "There are solutions that can be more aggressively priced, but they may not provide all that SOTI does. It's a matrix regarding what feature you use. You need to compare the features you use and what you are willing to pay for them... SOTI's pricing is okay. It's in the middle... They can provide more aggressive pricing once you start to have a lot of licenses."
  • "The pricing is reasonable and the licensing model is very reasonable when compared to some of the competitors in the market. I can speak directly regarding Intune, which is very expensive compared to SOTI."
  • "It makes sense to have scanners on SOTI MobiControl, but it makes less sense to have printers because there are fewer features for them, while the price is the same for both."
  • "SOTI's pricing seems to be competitive."
  • More SOTI MobiControl Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "You should take out a dedicated license agreement of your MDM fleet and invest heavily in innovating in this space."
  • "In terms of pricing, this solution is definitely much more expensive compared to other solutions, like MobileIron or MaaS360 or any other product in the market. This solution is more expensive by 30 or 40 percent."
  • "I have no opinion about the pricing of the product."
  • "The pricing and licensing are affordable. They are not too high."
  • "I think the pricing of the product needs advisement. It would be great to bundle the VM products together. I think the actual box itself should be included in the license. At present, it is not paired with the mobile device."
  • "If you purchase it for one year, it is very expensive. If you get it for three years or up to five years, then you can bargain a better price."
  • "There is a separate cost for technical support and extra premium features. The pricing should be simplified."
  • "The cost is a little bit high."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

SOTI MobiControl, our award-winning mobility management solution provides the ability to securely manage mobile devices and connected peripherals, applications, content, and email. With MobiControl's advanced security and management features, businesses have granular control of how mobile devices are used for business, and how data is accessed to ensure sensitive corporate information is kept in authorized hands only.

    Reviews from Real Users

Below is some feedback from our PeerSpot users who are currently using the solution:

PeerSpot user Patrick B., Cybersecurity Architect at a tech services company, says, "Its UI is extremely easy to use whether you're an advanced user or a novice user. When I first opened it up and had to learn the product, I was easily a novice. By the end of the third month, I was digging into the backend of the system and using it as a highly advanced user to accomplish what I needed to accomplish, and I was able to do it through the UI mostly."

Roshan T., Partner Manager North America at a tech company, mentions how satisfied he is with the product, saying, "You can put all your applications on a mobile device, be it a phone or tablet. It is secure and easy to use. Because it is centrally managed, you don't have to do any configuration on the phone. I just got the phone and connected to the central applications. I just downloaded one thing and everything got rolled out. Email, calendar, and other things were deployed centrally. If you don't have AirWatch, you have to configure your phone manually. For example, you need to deploy and configure your email manually and then synchronize everything. It is much simpler when a mobile device is centrally managed."
