A seamless all-in-one solution
This solution is seamless. From one platform, we can do just about anything. With other solutions, you'll need a separate platform for data ingestion, manipulation, etc. Then you'll need another tool for reporting. Palantir Gotham literally does it all. It generates a report regardless of the format. It can seamlessly generate it after the data has been collected.

Long-term integration has supported real-time data exchange and simplified adapter-based workflows
The challenges I have faced with TIBCO BusinessWorks mostly relate to financial applications that do not come with those adapters, so that requires custom coding. The features currently in TIBCO BusinessWorks are good enough, but going forward, as we are doing a lot of AI-based integrations, I would like to see TIBCO come up with more prompt-driven configurations rather than people having to understand deep technology. AI-driven features in TIBCO BusinessWorks would be beneficial, so that our business tech BA can do the development rather than needing programmers. More artificial intelligence functionality would help so people do not have to code.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This solution is seamless. From one platform, we can do just about anything."
"I like TIBCO BusinessWorks because it has a user-friendly GUI for developing solutions."
"It is a seamless and sophisticated tool."
"The tool's most valuable feature is BusinessConnect. It's an older product but still quite useful, especially for transferring files from one location to another."
"Good TIBCO BusinessWorks features are the admin console and the ability to roll back to the previous version."
"The solution is very scalable, it can handle a lot, and we have encryption plus integration servers running on that platform currently."
"The most valuable part of the solution is the ease-of-use and ease of deployment."
"It is a very robust system."
"One of the most valuable features is data transformation. We have some legacy systems which are in old technology, like SOAP, whereas the new ones are in REST. So we use BusinessWorks to transform data from one format to another, from SOAP to REST."

Cons

"I think there should be less coding involved. Currently, using it involves a tremendous amount of coding."
"Improve Business Studio's stability to further minimize development time."
"Pricing is not one of its strengths. Using Tibco BusinessWorks implies adopting a non-trivial set of products (Hawk, Rendez-vous, EMS in most cases), and previous cost models enabled scalability on installation and deployment."
"TIBCO BusinessWorks could be improved with cloud support."
"The cost has room for improvement."
"In TIBCO BusinessWorks, the problem is that there are multiple plugins that increase the number of product installations."
"The creation of XSDs should be much simpler. They should ensure that what was working in the previous version must also work in the new version of BW six."
"I'd like to see a more user-friendly solution in terms of the development area."
"The communication protocols could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"It is a bit expensive for medium-sized companies. If you are migrating from the current version to the container-supported version, it is quite expensive. The existing licensing will not work because the product platform itself is different."
"My understanding is that the licensing is very costly."
"The product is not cheap."
"Licensing scheme is too rigid"
"TIBCO BusinessWorks is a very expensive solution."
"The cost depends on the components required."
"The payments made for service are the only addition to the standard licensing fees that we pay for the solution."
"Its price policy has changed quite a lot in the last two years. It was extremely expensive previously. Nowadays, you can buy a license for BusinessWorks for €2000. Looking at what you get in return in terms of support, TIBCO community, and stability, it is fairly reasonable. It is not too expensive."
