Has migrated user mailboxes and collaboration data with minimal challenges
I'm currently working with On Demand Migration solution from Quest. I am providing feedback regarding my experience with On Demand Migration. I have used automated scheduling in On Demand Migration. I can run immediate migration or schedule it as per my convenience, but I have used the run immediately option because I needed it on an urgent basis. The effectiveness of On Demand Migration detailed reporting in managing migration progress is quite good, as there is a report option where I can see what migration got successfully completed, which failed, and even the problem ID and event ID, allowing me to troubleshoot easily on the demand portal. I have not explored the data filtering options. I have not explored data filtering for filtering the data. In terms of data security, we are using independent DLP for data protection in our organization. I have not explored features such as AI functionality or additional security aspects, as I have explored only On Demand Migration for mailbox, Teams chat, Teams channel, and OneDrive. For O365 to O365, it's a very good and easy tool, so I can recommend anyone using O365 to O365 tenant migration to go with On Demand Migration. My overall rating for this product is 9 out of 10.

Has good pricing options and is easy to manage and deploy
It's pretty easy to manage, and quite easy to deploy. It's easy to understand to work, and customers also tell us that there are a lot of options even too many sometimes for them. Sometimes the product is even too big for them at the beginning. The product also has a good payload with pricing. That's why the customers choose this solution. The price and the quality and options have a good ratio.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It's very easy to use. What I like is that if there is an error, for each task, I can find out what actually went wrong."
"The data is pretty secure."
"The solution is really stable when it comes to mailbox migration and all of the following work very well: the mail content, the OneDrive for Business content, and migrating all Azure AD objects."
"The most valuable features of Quest On Demand Migration have been the M365 migration and Active Directory (AD) migration components."
"Quest allows you to customize your migration. For example, you can opt only to migrate Microsoft Teams and the related data or you can migrate all of Office 365. You can also choose to migrate accounts and mailboxes. Sometimes, we don't want to migrate SharePoint data, or we only want to migrate specific users."
"We can easily and simply work out the cost for any migration work that is required with the licensing model."
"We can see the issues that may come up during migration. We can handle multiple workloads using this since it connects with Microsoft 365."
"You can batch up large groups. You can tell it to move everything for 200 people, and then it just goes. Once you get things set and configured, it is pretty easy. I can hand it off to people more junior to me who are less trained on the product, and they can be successful."
"It's pretty easy to manage, and quite easy to deploy."
"The solution can be used to audit the whole on-premises environment, including Active Directory, file servers, and other Microsoft services."

Cons

"In terms of Microsoft Teams, the only disappointment for us has been how the chats are migrated. They just don't look exactly the same as they would if you were logging on as normal. Obviously, when it comes to the user experience, you want the look and feel of everything to be replicated identically, and chats is the only part of it that doesn't look identical. However, it's not a 'car crash.' It's a slight deviation from what people would expect."
"Their support interface is not so great because you need to go through several links before you can raise the ticket. Sometimes the interface freezes up, and there is some downtime. They give us some notice. It says at the top of the interface that there will be scheduled maintenance in a given region or there is currently an outage. You can see upcoming downtime in the portal and plan accordingly."
"It would be more useful if I could scope the dashboard. I would like to be able to scope the users that I want to see to a much smaller list. When I am looking into a tenant with 35,000 accounts, and I am only moving 2,000 of them, I wish that the guys had been smarter about the discovery, and I could have only discovered those accounts, but there is not too much to complain about."
"One of the things that can be included is automation. For the matching and the migration process, they could put in some automation. I'm only allowed about 25 users at a time. If it's a large tenant, it takes quite a while to put them in the batches. If there is enough automation into that, that'd be perfect."
"It's definitely the Microsoft Teams functionality that has a lot of aspects where improvements are needed. Microsoft 365 Groups are tightly connected to Teams and there are a lot of improvements needed there as well."
"The granting of consent for doing the different tasks is confusing."
"One significant issue that often elicited complaints during domain migration was the need to set the primary UPN for objects once they were migrated to the target."
"They could provide on-premises to online exchange components for the platform. It would be highly valuable."
"The GUI could be improved because this GUI was invented ten years ago, and now we have a modern user interface. This GUI is a bit older than expected in this market."
"Configuring the solution with online services, like Microsoft Exchange Online, is difficult."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I find the pricing to be cost-efficient for what you receive with the Quest product."
"It is more than fair for what you get."
"We are fine with the tool's pricing."
"The solution is on the more expensive side, when you compare it not only to BitTitan but to other tools in the cloud market. Of course, you receive things like Quest's support organization."
"I thought On Demand Migration would be more expensive. I'm pleased with the cost that was quoted."
"The product had reasonable pricing until the beginning of this year. Now, the price is increased by 20%."
"It is quite cheap. Previously, I used to work for a big company, and they get quite a good deal, and now, I'm working for a small company, and even they get quite a good deal. So, its pricing is quite fair."
"The pricing is in line with other products."
"The pricing of the solution is fine. I rate the pricing a five out of ten."
