Improved the way to exploit and analyze data and offers no interruptions in service when running
The most valuable aspect of the solution is it's non-stop application. It continues to run so there are no interruptions to customers. It's also able to reach many people. The solution has good analysis features to make sure there's good sizing (so that it's not too big or too small) and allows room for growth if a company needs it.

Automated lifecycle management has cut onboarding times and now drives secure, clean access
Although I am a fan of Okta Platform overall, there are areas where it could improve security outcomes and reduce admin friction. My top improvement areas include the system log and analytics upgrade, which are great for point troubleshooting, but trending and root cause analysis across large tenants still require exporting to SIEM. Verbose queries and long-range retention costs can add up. Additionally, while certificate rotations are better than most, the process is still manual for busy portfolios, especially concerning multi-SP SAML certificate rotations and app metadata drift. Two more buckets of potential improvements for Okta Platform involve user experience and security. There is the issue of push fatigue and prompt sprawl, where users receive multiple prompts across different apps and sessions. I arrived at the rating of eight because the core controls are strong and reliable, but a few operational UX and UI gaps prevent it from being rated higher. The reasons for not giving it a nine or ten include ongoing issues concerning safety and change safety, the complexity of group rules and mappings, and the lack of robustness in policy management. Additionally, there remains a need for more manual involvement than necessary, especially for large portfolios and dual certificate rotation, along with proactive SP data metadata validation.

Pros

"The most valuable aspect of the solution is its non-stop application, as it continues to run so there are no interruptions to customers and it's able to reach many people."
"MicroStrategy fits best in an enterprise setup."
"I'd say if any user or any set of users are looking to get more insights from the raw data that they have collected over the course of years, one of the best BI tools in terms of analytics and data management would be MicroStrategy."
"Overall, the solution is an easy product to use."
"The dashboard, documentation, dossiers are all valuable features."
"The mobile identity features are great."
"The self-service and the dossier components as well as the hyper intelligence."
"The solution has good analysis features to make sure there's good sizing (so that it's not too big or too small) and allows room for growth if a company needs it."
"Okta Platform helped me secure access to cloud infrastructure, APIs, containerized workloads, and AI/GenAI services in my architecture, enhancing our security posture significantly."
"Okta's great for their federation capabilities where it lets the IT team enable business with anyone using common federation features across SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and internal applications."
"I find the most useful feature of Okta Platform is that it allows the preconfiguration of multiple applications, eliminating the need for customized application onboarding, which is very helpful for me to configure multiple applications such as AWS, Azure, Zoom, Salesforce, and more than 1000 applications in Okta Platform dashboard."
"I am able to authenticate my users on cloud and SaaS applications such as Workday through Okta workflows."
"Okta Platform authentication is essential because it minimizes the hassle of signing into multiple applications while maintaining security."
"Okta Platform has positively impacted my organization by doing a lot of cleanup, simplifying operations, improving visibility, governance, and security across the board."
"Workforce Identity offers a comprehensive access management solution with multi-factor authentication, total control, and features like app access management, identity governance, and administration tools such as certification and access request management. These are typically found in identity management solutions, but Okta integrates them seamlessly into its user interface."
"We find the solution to be reliable for our customers and it is nice that it is cloud-based and can be accessed from anywhere."

Cons

"The documentation of how to make different connections to different databases needs to be more centralized."
"I don't think I would recommend this solution to others. There are better reporting solutions out there."
"In the dossier section, they have something called documents, which is very good, but they are implementing something called dossiers also. If we compare it with the BI tools like Tableau, the canvas which MicroStrategy provides is not that great. The formatting options are limited is dossiers. In terms of formatting and making the reports more presentable, it's lagging a little bit behind."
"If we compare it with the BI tools like Tableau, the canvas which MicroStrategy provides is not that great."
"Initial setup of the tool was very complex and challenging."
"Visual Insight/Desktop is trailing behind competitors such as Tableau or QlikView, which have more functionality."
"The skills needed now are very niche and quite low level and they need to simplify the development aspect of it."
"Right now, we have to apply many workarounds for the solution to do what we need it to do. There are a lot of bugs."
"We've not had any problems with Okta."
"It only facilitates provisioning and not de-provisioning."
"Okta Platform's pricing model can be expensive for smaller organizations, affecting user feature accessibility."
"It's not compatible with on-premises installations, unless you host it as a SaaS."
"The only aspect in which it can be improved is that the interface could be cleaner. I found this even when I was trying to do my certification exam because the certification is hands-on. You find yourself fumbling around a little bit to find simple things. This happens even when you start to get familiar with the product."
"There are some issues with the interface that can be improved."
"One feature I can mention is that there should be an optional registration option for multiple MFA factors."
"You can't hide the device when you're checking logs."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Price-wise, Okta Workforce Identity is a cheap solution. The overall cost depends on the license since you can negotiate with Okta or any of Okta's partners only if you opt for many licenses."
"The price of Okta Workforce Identity is competitively priced. We pay annually for the use of the solution."
"The pricing for Okta Workforce Identity could still be improved or made cheaper. It costs from 50 to 100 euros a year per user. Okta Workforce Identity has different packages you can choose from, and my previous company had all of them, particularly the full Okta suite."
"It could be a bit too pricey for small companies. Okta Workforce Identity can add a lot of benefits, but smaller companies may not have a lot of applications that need to be managed by Okta Workforce Identity. In larger organizations, there are more departments, applications, and users to manage. Okta Workforce Identity adds a bit more value to those bigger organizations. In addition to standard licensing fees, there are also additional costs for things"
"We pay 23 pence (approximately $0.30 USD) per user, annually, for 150,000 users."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"This is an expensive solution but the security makes it worthwhile."
"The solution's pricing model could be better for SMBs."
