Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The ability to block and erase remote devices is valuable to us, especially when those devices are lost.""I believe that the solution is actually in Gartner's top quadrant at the moment for mobile device management.""By using Microsoft Intune we can control which websites the users can go to and it provides a secure environment for our employees using their laptops that are having access from home. We have installed Intune to control the user's environment minimizing the chances of any hacking.""This product works very well for companies already using the full Microsoft suite.""One of the main features of the solution is it allows the management of many devices in different ways.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune is having all our devices compliant with our policies.""I can reach devices or computers over the internet. I don't need to worry about the network connectivity between the offices. I can manage any device. That is the most important part.""The stability is good."

"Installing the packages remotely and remote control are the most valuable features. There are around 100 pieces or devices, and the only way to send a package to a device is by connecting to the PC and then manually sending the package. By using Avalanche, we can send a package to all devices with one click. It is very stable and easy to use. Their technical support is also very good. We have implemented this solution for our clients, and they are satisfied with this solution. It does what it is meant to do.""The most useful feature of Avalanche is remote control — especially the ability to remotely install packages to many devices all at once. When the client has, for example, 100 devices needing updates, it would take far too long to update each device individually. But with Avalanche, we just connect to all the devices through the PC and send the updates out with one click.""The most valuable features of the Ivanti Avalanche are the remote control and the file transfer.""The terminal remediation feature is valuable.""The solution is easy to work with. I like its stability and flexibility.""It is a very easy-to-manage and granular policy-based solution. Policies that you can create per device per user behavior are the most valuable feature."

"One of the most valuable features of Sophos Mobile is the Wifi password.""The remote management and cloud-based maintenance features of this solution are very useful for our organization.""The security features work well.""In terms of valuable features, we liked the lock feature, the roll-out white feature, and the find feature. I think that Sophos had a GPS locator, so you could figure out where the phone was from a GPS location.""The initial setup process is straightforward and fast.""They always add more features to this product.""The most valuable feature is the mobile device management capability. You can easily manage all of your mobile devices.""The utmost importance lies in mobile security and its performance."

Cons
"Regarding mobile devices, Intune is good, but there are other services that I would say are ahead of Intune from an administration and reporting point of view.""I wanted to check if there is any provision at the Intune level to restrict certain things, such as a website, but unfortunately, that feature is available only in Microsoft Defender. Intune has web filtering capabilities, but they are only useful for protection from malicious websites, whereas we would like to be able to restrict a website. For example, YouTube is a clean website. No one would identify it as a malicious website, but if we want to stop the end-users from going to that website, we have to go for another product, such as Microsoft Defender or another third-party proxy solution. It would be great if this capability is included in Intune.""Deploying an app can be a complex process due to dependencies.""The reporting could be improved, as it's pretty poor compared to other products of this type.""The pricing could be improved.""Microsoft Intune could enhance its patch management for various devices, ensuring regular updates and tracking of device privileges.""It would be nice to have a location tracker for the mobile device management tool. I'm not sure if it exists but hasn't been configured or if it's missing, but we've been unable to utilize the location features.""They should improve its compatibility with other operating systems such as iOS and Linux. It supports Linux but they still need to work on the iOS part."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"The solution can improve by adding a kiosk mode option to the devices.""The tool's stability could be better.""In future releases, I would like to see more automation or bringing in AI into to understand device behavior.""Its price could be improved. It could be cheaper. I would like to see a better approach for Android and an easy way to send packages and manage devices.""There is a lack of flexibility.""Because our clients are all very satisfied with Ivanti from their side, there is little I can say about room for improvement. However, I think that to stay competitive with other solutions offering a similiar solution, Ivanti could look into making their products more affordable."

More Ivanti Avalanche Cons →

"The product does not work well in iOS.""The features of Sophos Mobile could improve. The way the system works together could be better. Additionally, the integration with other Sophos products could improve.""In terms of what could be improved, the initial configuration and setup of the environment could probably be made a little bit easier. There are so many pieces that go into it. Intune is absolutely insane and Sophos is better, but it still is a bit complex to get it all set up correctly.""There may be necessary adjustments that need to be made because we are facing certain restrictions within the work profile.""They continue to work on integration with mobile device management and mobile security. They are improving the protection but I think that the capabilities still need to be enhanced.""We encounter issues while working with iOS.""To manage the Apple devices is not that straightforward there are a lot of features the other third parties solutions are offering which Sophos Mobile is not.""We have experienced issues in updating iOS devices when we set a minimum version requirement policy, and we do not have the option to force automatic installation. This means that the device must be supervised in order for updates to be applied, which we would like to see improved."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

Avalanche is rooted in managing the mobile computers that drive the supply chain. As those devices have evolved, Avalanche has continued to keep pace. So, whether you have legacy Windows CE devices deployed in your warehouse, or are looking to extend mobility to the showroom with today’s latest Android and iOS devices, Avalanche can manage them all.

Sophos Mobile is a Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) and security solution that helps businesses spend less time and effort to manage and secure traditional and mobile endpoints. The only UEM solution that integrates natively with a leading next-gen endpoint security platform, Sophos Mobile supports management of Windows 10, macOS, iOS, and Android devices.
