Offers a reliable platform for securing administrative access and reduces cloud maintenance overhead
I have not found many drawbacks in Delinea Authentication Service, but perhaps they could focus more on the development of the platform for all of the products. I mean, rather than having Secret Server and Privilege Manager as silos, they could have a unique platform. In future updates of this solution, I would like to see features that other PAM vendors are adding, such as machine identities, AI, agentic security, and perhaps certificate security for Delinea. Delinea integrates with third-party tools by having some out-of-the-box connectors, but not for all. Adding more connectors could be an evolution for the next product. Responsiveness could be another area of improvement. They are pretty much slow to respond or perhaps I don't get the answers I want.

Supports secure remote authentication and provides comprehensive user activity tracking
The most important feature is the security capability because it provides a substantial amount of security for admin-related activities. Fortinet FortiAuthenticator can be used from anywhere in the world, and the authenticator services function globally. This global accessibility is one of the critical advantages, particularly since admin features are critical and security is a real concern. With Fortinet FortiAuthenticator, secure usage of firewall services and related functions is achieved. A complete log of all users who access the authenticator setup is maintained. Monthly logs are reviewed to check for any unnoticed activities. Each authenticated user's complete activity history is recorded. This logging capability allows for providing access to more admin users while ensuring security is not compromised and all users can be monitored.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The best feature of Delinea Authentication Service, in my opinion, is that Delinea is a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for PAM solutions, particularly with Secret Server, which we used, and also the Privilege Manager."
"I prefer the passing tool that sent an active directory console to a Fortinet FortiAuthenticator, then Fortinet FortiAuthenticator does not pass the locks."
"The feature that I have found most valuable is the fact that you can utilize your tokens across the whole Fortinet fabric once you have the FortiAuthenticator."
"It reduces the need for network administrator intervention by allowing the user to perform their own registration and resolve their own password problems and issues."
"Using this product strengthens enterprise security."
"The product's on-premise version doesn't have recurring costs."
"The implementation has significantly improved access management within our organization."
"The solution's most valuable aspect is that it is easy to install and the user experience is very good."
"It keeps track of users and their IPs no matter where they are in the network. When users roam, we don't have to worry about not mapping them to an IP."

Cons

"Responsiveness could be another area of improvement. They are pretty much slow to respond or perhaps I don't get the answers I want."
"I would like to see more security features in reference to identity login or identity identification."
"The support team is pathetic and does not properly understand the solution."
"There are some protocols, such as SHA and SHA-2, that are not supported."
"I have had stability issues with FortiAuthenticator."
"A better integration with other vendors."
"There is room for improvement in stability and support."
"The customization capability of Fortinet FortiAuthenticator is not very flexible."
"They could expand FortiAuthenticator's capabilities to accommodate a broader range of environments."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"You can pay as you go with them. You purchase a base license and add to it as needed."
"The product has affordable pricing compared to other vendors."
"It is usually cheap. Without a license, you can use some basic features. You can buy a 20-year license and implement the solution once."
"I rate the price of Fortinet FortiAuthenticator a three out of five."
"The customers need to pay for licenses, and some pay on a yearly basis while others pay on a three-yearly or five-yearly basis. Also, it is not an expensive solution."
"The cost of the license could be less expensive. The license is paid on a yearly basis."
"I rate the product price as two or three on a one-to-ten scale, where one is expensive, and ten is cheap."
"The platform provides a user-based pricing model rather than a subscription pricing model."
