Provides detailed behavior analysis while needing improvements in signature detection
I use Cuckoo Sandbox primarily for automated malware behavior analysis. Specifically, it helps me extract indicators of compromise (IOC) to add to different platforms in the security environment of my company Cuckoo can show me every behavior in a machine. For example, it shows all files…

Helps secure the infrastructure and control users with admin rights
There are many features that are currently missing. A customization option is required for certain policies. For instance, if we need to stop PowerShell scripting, we have to create a different policy for that. Being able to create a sub-level policy within a top-level policy would be good. Currently, no user-based policy option is available inside the EPM console. We can only create computer-based policies. The database is available, but there is a drawback in not being able to create local groups on the EPM console. We only have to depend on Active Directory. This limits infrastructure security as we depend on the Active Directory team to manage user groups. If they remove any users, we lose control. If we could create groups locally and block them or set specific policies, we would have more control. Local endpoint management is missing from the EPM site. Moreover, there is an issue with policies not running as expected when we make enhancements. We have to find multiple ways to whitelist applications or enhance policies.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Cuckoo Sandbox is very stable and reliable."
"The scalability is an eight out of ten."
"Cuckoo Sandbox is very stable and reliable."
"The dynamic analysis feature in Cuckoo Sandbox is excellent compared to others."
"It has drastically reduced the attack surface for local administrative rights and the chance of escalation of privilege. We've removed, at this point, close to 98 percent of the local administrative accounts on workstations. If there were an incident, it would stop at that point and we'd be able to know."
"The most valuable feature of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is its ability to reset passwords every time that it is needed or periodically."
"The most valuable feature of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is its high performance, it's the best identity security platform. The security is good. It's easy to showcase the feature and capabilities and compare it with other competitors. It competes well with other solutions. Additionally, it is a complete solution."
"The tool is an endpoint management system. It monitors everything a standard user does and helps elevate privileges when necessary for advanced users. It keeps an auditable trail of all activities. Practically, it stops and blocks potentially hazardous user behavior, whether intentional or unintentional. Certain companies must use endpoint management software because of national or international rules or ISO norms."
"The solution is scalable."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its performance."
"The product is stable."
"The password rotation and the session recording are the most valuable features."

Cons

"It lacks correlation with other types of information, such as explaining why a particular file was modified or identifying the specific process responsible."
"The only issue is with the installation, which requires some adjustments."
"Cuckoo Sandbox could improve its signature detection because it currently only shows simple file modifications and connections to different botnets."
"I want the command to be quicker."
"The solution's pricing could be better."
"Technical support is slow to respond when we run into issues."
"The product needs a streamlined user interface; improvements to the user interface can enhance user experience and make the solution more intuitive to navigate."
"My recommendation for improvement is to add functionality for when users request access to an application. There's a pop-up UI, but it's not very customizable. I suggest creating a UI where we can write scripts or use SDKs to enhance it. This could automatically create tickets in a system like ServiceNow when users request an application. If a manager approves, we could automatically push policies to those users."
"CyberArk is a pretty heavy solution."
"It cannot be on-prem. It is only cloud-based. Sometimes, that's a restriction in terms of usage."
"CyberArk meets clients' need very spot-on. It covers everything customers ask for. As for improvements, honestly, the feedback's been really positive. I haven't heard any specific areas that need work."
"CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager could be improved by simplifying the administration process, specifically when setting up policies and applications."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We have to pay five to ten thousand dollars for this solution."
"Although I do not deal directly with the pricing, CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is costly compared to other solutions. However, it offers beneficial features."
"The tool's pricing is reasonable for customers."
"The cost for CyberArk is very high."
"The price of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is expensive. The solution is priced based on the number of accounts onboarded and the number of concurrent sessions. Everyone else is included in the price, such as support."
"Pricing depends on how many devices you use. Right now, on-premise, it costs us a little, but it's worth it. It seems like the cloud solution is much more expensive. We got this solution one year ago, and it's like we bought the solution, and now they are not going to support it on-premise anymore. We are in the implementation phase, and we missed this, and we already paid for the licenses. This is wasted time from my perspective, and CyberArk should be more customer-friendly."
"The solution requires an annual license to use it. There can be some extra costs in some cases."
"The product's license is easy to procure."
"The price of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is expensive."
