Very easy to schedule jobs and monitor them, however we run out heap space even with a high allocation

Has improved data handling and customization but requires more intuitive visual design for workflows
It was kind of tough to have the visualizations with HTML, or you have to create your own page. But it was working great with buttons and every page updated pretty fast with the server capability, and it was handling a big amount of data, maybe five years of data. It was performing quite well, taking maybe three minutes to update the whole model. It has been good, but most recently, they changed the commercial methodology to get the license. Our política in the company is to hire or get licenses year by year, but most recently, TIBCO Spotfire asked us to have a three-year license term. That made things a little bit tougher for the commercial relationship. Maybe with all these automation processes that you have, those could be more visually friendly. N8N is a good example where you could connect some platforms, and you don't have to code strictly, but you could visually create an algorithm. That capability of clicking and dragging some boxes of code could actually facilitate how people create their own algorithms. It could be very useful if the coding part of using the platform could be more user-friendly in terms of visual capability.

Pros

"Connectivity to various data sources: The ability to extract data from different data sources gives greater flexibility."
"Server features for scheduler: It is very easy to schedule jobs and monitor them. The interface is easy to use."
"Key features include wealth of pre-defined components; all components are customizable; descriptive logging, especially for error messages."
"We switched to CloverETL because of its flexibility to connect to various data sources and no dependence on native language and ease of use."
"No dependence on native language and ease of use."
"Familiar, intuitive GUI coming from a Java development background, in-depth, descriptive, and well-laid-out documentation, responsive support through forums directly from Clover staff, a wealth of customizable pre-defined components, descriptive logging for error messages, and ease of install with a light footprint make it very effective to use."
"The two features that I have found most valuable are its ability to customize the dashboards when it comes to the evaluation. The second feature is its ability to handle a large amount of data, which is also something very unique about it."
"One of the best data visualization and analytical tools I have worked with and would definitely suggest others to evaluate and go for Spotfire to get the best ROI."
"It allows users to quickly analyze data from a variety of sources and visualize it with powerful, interactive graphs, and charts."
"Compared to Tableau, it is much more powerful in terms of statistics and analytics, but Tableau is more popular, so there is more support for it online."
"In my opinion, TIBCO Spotfire is the best tool that really serves the business analysis needs."
"I think having Python included is a big win because you get the chance to customize your algorithm and your in-house development without having a big dependency on a third party."
"Technical support is exceptional."
"One of the main features is integrated statistical analysis."

Cons

"Needs easier automated failure recovery, more and more intuitive auto-generated or filled-in code for components, and easier or more automated sync between CloverETL Designer and CloverETL Server."
"Resource management: We typically run out of heap space, and even the allocation of high heap space does not seem to be enough."
"Resource management: We typically run out of heap space, and even the allocation of high heap space does not seem to be enough."
"Its documentation could be improved."
"Needs: easier automated failure recovery; more, and more intuitive auto-generated/filled-in code for components; easier/more automated sync between CloverETL Designer and CloverETL Server."
"In the recent version of Spotfire, 7.5 or 7.6, I was able to corrupt my webplayer services deployment with no way to restore it."
"The look and feel is not very customizable out of the box, which is the cherry on the cake when it comes to analazing data."
"The initial setup is complicated and needs experience and knowledge."
"The administration that is a pain is server administration, mainly because transferring Spotfire files/projects from one environment to another (test to prod during an upgrade) involves exporting the Spotfire library to file storage and then importing it into another Spotfire library."
"The design of the UI could be improved."
"I would say that the implementation of the product could be much easier than it is at the moment. It is a complex process at the moment to set up TIBCO Spotfire with your database; not always straightforward."
"One aspect where Spotfire could improve is its global recognition, especially in terms of support."
"It is a very expensive license model."
