Enterprise wireless has unified teams and has simplified global deployment and security
One thing I appreciate the most about Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points is that something absolutely stands out, especially about Cisco Wireless, which has made a huge impact on me personally, even though I have been a mentor in my company for a long time. The best thing about Cisco, which I experienced over 10 years, is that everybody knows it and everybody knows how to use it. If you look especially at the new series of Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points and their controllers, Cisco unified the GUI of the wireless controller with all their other GUIs that they have. They call it Magnetic UI, which they use nowadays on all their GUIs. Talent acquisition is just so easy because everybody in the IT networking field worked with any product of Cisco in their life, and all Cisco products fit so well together in an ecosystem and also have a very similar UI and are very easy to engage if you worked with anything from Cisco before. In my opinion, you save a lot on talent acquisition and also training people. Compared to other vendors I have worked with, you do not easily find people that have worked with their products or are experts in them. But especially with Cisco, there are so many people that have worked with it in the past, and you always have people that can implement, operate, and manage it. That is, in my case, the coolest thing about it. Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points has helped me to improve the interaction between my network, data center, and application teams. Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points can handle high-density environments with Wi-Fi 6, 6E, and 7. I have sold and operated Cisco Wireless in production areas and outdoor areas for automatic moving. I have a lot of high-ceiling models in use for logistics halls, for production environments with high ceilings and everything. Honestly, that is where they shine. They have some really cool models. The product variety is really great. For each and every use case, you can find a very specific model that does exactly what you want. I have a lot of the high-ceiling models in use which cover high-density areas where the clients are sometimes shielded, sometimes moving, sometimes moving very fast, and all those kinds of things. I am very happy with these environments with Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points.

Centralized management has simplified our home Wi‑Fi setup and supports multiple users reliably
Given my experience with NETGEAR Insight Access Points, my piece of advice for other organizations considering it is that they have to look at the rest of their system because NETGEAR Insight Access Points is quite useless with anything but the Wi-Fi system. I rate this product an 8 out of 10.

Pros

"This solution has improved my ability to manage our network, check the overall health of our network, and secure it."
"The features in Catalyst 9100 Access Points that I have found most valuable include that it's a complete solution; we go with Cisco because you have access points, you have a controller, you have Cisco ISE, and you have Cisco DNA Center."
"I assess the stability and reliability of Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points as very solid, it is tried and true, it has been tested, and we have had no problems whatsoever with that particular platform."
"Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points have positively impacted my organization because they work better and have different capabilities."
"Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points have been very reliable and stable with no issues at all experienced with any of the access points."
"My favorite thing about Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points is that they just work, and they work reliably."
"When it comes to a wireless solution, Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points definitely stand out, mainly in terms of reliability, security, and integration with the broader Cisco ecosystem."
"In terms of return on investment with Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points, there is an initial deployment cost, but a client indicates they have not replaced a single access point in 10 years since installation."
"The product's deployment is straightforward."
"From the WiFi aspect, it's very intuitive and easy to use, and the solution enables me to manage my entire WiFi from anywhere in the world."
"The internet connectivity is good."
"I'm able to do a lot of things, because the GUI is designed very well. I'm able to remotely make certain changes via my phone and apply them right away. It makes life easier when it comes to managing the equipment. The Insight management solution phone app is very good. It enables me to do what I want to do."
"We use NETGEAR's Insight management solution to do off-property controls. It is user-friendly and provides network management, monitoring, and service deployment across multiple remote and local sites. That means I don't have to be physically at a location to do things if I want to make any changes to the network. It saves time and money."
"I now have the ability to remote access my network, which works extremely well and saves me time and travel because I can access it from any place without needing to be physically at the device."
"I find the centralized management of NETGEAR Insight Access Points very beneficial because we are using five access points, and it is quite useful to be able to manage them centrally."
"With the Insight management solution, it is awesome that you don’t need an additional cloud controller, appliance, network manager, or PC/server to configure and manage your access points."

Cons

"The initial configuration of Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points is somewhat complex, especially if someone is not familiar with the Cisco ecosystem."
"Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points are expensive. They are definitely expensive."
"One thing I dislike about Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points is definitely the price."
"What I dislike about Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points is that controlling multiple APs is not centralized."
"The deployment process itself is complex because we need to ensure that software requirements are running."
"I have had some issues with some of the lower-end devices where I needed to do RMAs. For some reason, the devices either had an issue with the power supply or they got bricked after a firmware update."
"However, over time, noise distortions have reduced AP performance to about thirty percent. Before, the throughput would be eighty to ninety percent, but now some APs behave like twenty to thirty percent with services unavailable."
"If I compare Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points with other vendors such as Aruba, one area for improvement is pricing."
"The biggest issue I've had is that it works very well with the WiFi, but it does not offer any assistance at all with the routers. You can't control them or manage them at all. As soon as you want to use anything on the network side—because I have multiple 28-port switches—you can't manage them using this app."
"Ubiquiti is a very good company. NETGEAR should look at that model and expand on its remote capabilities. Ubiquiti seems to have a better product."
"My major problem is right now, the area which I need to cover is around 7,000 to 10,000 square feet...I would like NETGEAR Insight Access Points to extend the area coverage they provide."
"Software-wise, they need to provide the ability to kick users out."
"I have some frustrations with the ease of use. It tends to be sluggish. The graphical interface is pretty, but not useful. They have this tree that shows connected devices, which makes no sense whatsoever because the labeling field of the tree truncates all the items to the point that it's almost useless. You can't even tell what it is. I would prefer a spreadsheet list of the gear as opposed to a graphical representation."
"I put in a NETGEAR BR200 router and it gave me a lot of headaches when trying to create VLANs."
"A con is the backend system which is very, very slow."
"I have some frustrations with the ease of use. It tends to be sluggish."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"We have some basic models they give without a license."
"The pricing seems to be reasonable."
"It wasn't much more than 100 dollars a year. For the devices that we have, the pricing was pretty fair."
"I think that the price of the product is reasonable."
"I can source the stuff pretty quickly wherever I go through the distributor. There is pricing available at NETGEAR if you can spend between $2,000 and $5,000 on a solution. So, there is special pricing that they can help with. The vendor's reps are very responsive. They have a good channel system."
"My company does not need to pay anything related to the solution's licensing costs."
"It is an expensive solution."
"Price-wise, it is a little too high, about $20 higher than what it should be, but it's worth it. It's cheaper than Cisco's access point, but the products are not apples to apples."
