I believe the areas of Catalyst by Zoho that could be improved in the future include Python support. Currently, it only supports an outdated Python version. Python 3.15 is current, but the only available version is 3.9, limiting the ability to install many libraries and deploy applications effectively. Regarding improvements for data encryption and identity management, when building an application inside Catalyst and later integrating it with other applications, I find that it does not work well with other Zoho applications, even though they share the same organization. They do not have the same origin, and facing CORS errors while embedding them is a significant issue. The need for authenticating iframes back and forth is not ideal, making the experience less favorable. In terms of data storage options in Catalyst by Zoho, I have not used it extensively. I have primarily utilized it for processing tokens and caching, and to that extent, I perceive it as good. However, I believe if we were entirely dependent on it, the performance might not be satisfactory.

Assessing the ease of connecting disparate systems using Microsoft Azure Logic Apps connectors is simple because we have a Standard Operating Process. If we want to use Logic Apps, we just reserve the instances as per our requirement. Even for Blob storage, we use tokenized endpoints that give us access to this storage account, making it secure. At API Gateway, we have policies that help us implement encryption and decryption. Request parameters are mapped automatically, converted to SOAP, XML, or JSON as needed in different formats. We utilize its monitoring capabilities; Event Grids are used for logging events. Additionally, we have implemented a retry mechanism and are using Azure Monitor for end-to-end request tracing.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I find the features and capabilities of Catalyst by Zoho to be valuable, especially regarding its backend and frontend."
"Its notable advantage is its user-friendly UI, which allows easy testing."
"Its integration capabilities are great, allowing connectivity with various applications and services."
"It's easy to use, and it's stable."
"If there's something that isn't possible, you can write some code and call that code from a Logic App."
"The product integration with Active Directory and detailed execution tracking for debugging are the most valuable features."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Azure Logic Apps is the many available connectors that make automation easy. Additionally, the security of the solution is good."
"Connectors are very useful for streamlining data integration tasks."
"I would rate my experience with the initial setup a nine out of ten, with ten being easy to set up."

Cons

"I have used the data encryption and identity management features of Catalyst by Zoho for authentication, but my experience has not been very satisfactory as it lacks robustness."
"Not all connectors are readily available, though. There are two types: managed connectors and app connectors. Some connectors require you to provide a username and password to connect to platforms like SharePoint or Salesforce. Due to security constraints, some users may prefer not to use these connectors. Instead, they might opt for the HTTP connector."
"There could be more AI features included in the product."
"The stability of Microsoft Azure Logic Apps is stable, however, we have had some issues in the past."
"Especially when using a function or a parameter, that could be easier as that's not very well-documented, and it's not very clear from the tool itself how to use it."
"The documentation could be better. I think that's the only thing that was causing a normal level of problems. In terms of the documentation, it came from Cosmos DB and an additional product from Microsoft Azure."
"It would be helpful if the vendor could provide more data connectors."
"I find the current interface useful, but I could see how others would want the UI bits that are used for creating Logic Apps to be simplified."
"The documentation could be better. I think that's the only thing that was causing a normal level of problems."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The tool’s pricing could be better."
"The pricing is not expensive."
"Microsoft Azure Logic Apps is a little bit expensive, and that is why you use it only for certain types of scenarios."
"I would rate the pricing a six out of ten"
"Its price depends on the number of transactions, storage capacity, etc., defining if the subscription will be monthly or weekly."
"The product is not cheap. I would rate the product's pricing a five out of ten."
"It's very cheap, but it comes with pluses and minuses. The positive thing is that it's very cheap, but on the other hand, it's extremely hard to tell how much it will cost. At the start of the project, it's almost impossible to tell how many times you will be calling some kind of Logic App function. You cannot state how much of the internet transfer you will use or how much data your will use."
"In my experience, Microsoft Azure Logic Apps is not a cheap solution."
