Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Automation has streamlined client data extraction and has improved reporting for business decisions
I work as a developer, and my manager is responsible for the research and analytics for the project with the client and business users. I am satisfied with BotFarm. I would rate my experience with BotFarm an eight out of ten. I do not see any room for improvement for BotFarm. I am using AI tools such as Amazon, Microsoft Azure, and ChatGPT. I am not using AI-powered bots in BotFarm. I am a partner with Automation Anywhere.

Has improved analytics and reporting but needs better integration and support
To improve IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for the next release, there should be more integration with external systems, and more integration with IBM's data and AI platforms is needed. There is an AI part in IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for Machine Learning, but IBM has another platform specifically for data and AI, which is integrated right now. More features are hoped for in the future.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Automation Anywhere has a very rich and easy to use interface. This makes it very intuitive. As an organization, we give training to business users to help them automate themselves. It is an easy to go, create your own scripts, and logic. The typical commands which they have in the workbench are very helpful for us."
"There are quite a few very strong features available to users."
"The platform is easy to use, especially for business users."
"No other competitor has this email trigger, so it saves a lot of time if you automate the process. We don't need to fix a time for a task to run. It gives the feature of on demand execution for any task. Whenever a user wants, it can send a mail and get the task done as soon as possible."
"It increased productivity; it raised the productivity percentage of individuals 20 to 35%, and we also saw cost reduction."
"It's very easy to use. It helps streamline manual processes."
"As a tool, IQ Bot is easy to use, powerful, and very competitive compared to others."
"The graphical user interface (GUI) is very useful, since I don't know any coding languages. I have been able to be a developer with Automation Anywhere without knowing the technical background. I am a business user, and not needing the technical knowledge to use the system has been useful for me."
"One of the advantages of Automation Anywhere is that the Bot Insight feature is built-in."
"Overall, we've been happy with the solution."
"The initial setup is pretty straightforward."
"Automation Anywhere provides and facilitates cloud service, which means you can access your license from anywhere, easily executing and developing your bots from anywhere in the world."
"The solution reduces manual data errors and improves data accuracy"
"Productivity increased far more than thirty percent."
"Automation Anywhere provides a very flexible UI."
"The most valuable features of this solution are the Excel automation and support for SharePoint."
"We are aiming, by the end of the year, to record about $10,000,000 in savings just by automating the processes that we have identified so far."
"It's integrated with all the other products within the Salesforce ecosystem."
"The quality is great! It's very strong and has a very strong platform."
"It is a good tool for automation."
"The solution's ease of use is its most valuable aspect."
"The good stuff about IBM is the fact that it's very easy to use, there are very nice and smart AI tools within the licensing that you don't have to pay any access. Moreover, it's more precise and more secure."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to automate mundane tasks. This improves efficiency, reliability, etc. You can form critical operations which can be highly automated."
"IBM Robotic Process Automation has greatly improved the organization by improving the speed of performance, as the speed of the robot is estimated to be 20 times faster than the human being."

Cons

"IQ Bot is bad and needs a lot of tweaking."
"When working with Excel, unlike other tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere does not have the standard variables for .Net data types."
"The initial setup was not that great. The road was very up and down."
"The price has room for improvement."
"We have still not explored Automation Anywhere to its full potential, so I will restrict myself from commenting on improvement areas at this time."
"Automation Anywhere should improve its OCR command, as it's my observation that I have faced data loss or improper data being extracted."
"Version 11 is a bit heavy. At times, it takes a toll on the computing resources."
"With the automation copilot, if I have any internal tool or application and I want to pass on variables, I don't have it. Maybe the team can work on it to make it more efficient to make it work better across all automations."
"When somebody is just learning this product it can be difficult for them to understand, so improvements to the user interface would be helpful."
"It would be ideal if the solution offered more language options, such as Arabic."
"I would like to see more process mining features to give us insight into them before we develop automation."
"Its UI could be made better. It should also be more flexible."
"Scalability is an area of improvement. We can increase the main features for our project but when we reached out to our personnel and asked whether Bot can be expanded, we were told "You cannot scale this Bot."
"One aspect that can be improved is the accessibility of reusable components for developers. It relates to role-based access and accessibility."
"An area for improvement in BotFarm is that the communication between the Control Room and the Bot Client Missions isn't utilized well. There's also the issue with PCI DSS compliance or certain regulations that require a set of configurations that are not fully supported by BotFarm. The product should be certified or designed according to the required regulations in the finance industry to make it better."
"The discovery suite that they just acquired could be included."
"We would like a decreased need for customer support."
"I think it's complex, and not straightforward."
"IBM’s support should improve response time."
"IBM RPA is an unstable solution."
"I would like it to do pretty much everything out-of-the-box without any need for any customization. However, that is not the case right now. We absolutely have to do some amount of customization with the solution in order to use it out-of-the-box as-is."
"Stability could be better."
"Extensibility is the key, especially in terms of the Recorders feature that we have. That should be browser independent. Enhance it because some people have Chrome, some have Internet Explorer, etc. Also, integration with PDFs: Not just the ability to read information from PDFs but the ability to write information from PDFs, make it secure, sign it, etc. Finally, if they can allow a token exchange inside the tool itself, that would help."
"My impression of the support experience is lower than middle. I would rank it as that. They need to improve their support by having more experienced level one support."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"They recently launched a Community Edition, which is okay, but they should have done this a long time ago."
"I'm not sure what the monthly licensing cost is, as that is taken care of by another team, but I would say it's around $100,000."
"The Automation Anywhere license is affordable and not complex."
"We have seen ROI on one of the process, but not on the other processes yet."
"Automation Anywhere falls within a mid-range price point when compared to other RPA tools on the market."
"Yearly, our licensing costs are about $90,000 to $100,000. There will be additional licensing costs when we add more Bot Runners to our infrastructure."
"They sell it by license, but if they could charge by case or by interaction, that might be better. Right now, it's expensive when you want to scale or use them for simple processes."
"This is a comprehensive automation offering with a scalable architecture and flexible pricing models."
"Automation Anywhere is more reasonable than Blue Prism and UiPath in terms of cost."
"The starter price is free."
"The product is slightly expensive"
"I think payment can vary but it's a re-occurring fee that needs to be paid every year."
"I am very happy with the pricing."
"We pay approximately $15,000 USD per year."
"Pricing for this solution can be better."
"There is a license for this solution and it is on an annual basis. I am satisfied with the price."
"IBM RPA is cheaper than other tools."
"The pricing is reasonable for this solution."
"The license is paid annually."
"I rate the pricing ten out of ten. So, the pricing is very good for me."
