Centralized endpoint security has improved and supports hybrid work and BYOD policies
Regarding what I dislike about Microsoft Intune and its downsides, I would say that more Mac controls are needed because we have limited Mac and Linux control. When comparing controls and policies between Windows, Mac, and Linux, Windows has almost everything you can think of, while Mac and Linux have limited types of control. You cannot implement certain things on Mac and Linux that you can on Windows. The limited controls are a major issue. Additionally, if Microsoft could find a way to embed servers into Microsoft Intune, that would be beneficial. Microsoft Intune is not really designed for servers or Windows servers. It is more tailored towards Windows 11 and Windows 10 operating systems. Windows servers are not fully supported. Enterprise organizations usually have both servers and endpoints, which are users' workstations. For servers, most people look for other solutions such as SCCM, which is Configuration Manager. However, SCCM is what Microsoft Intune is trying to replace. Both SCCM and Microsoft Intune belong to Microsoft. Microsoft is trying to transition organizations into Microsoft Intune, the native cloud solution. However, because this update is still in process, servers are not fully compatible with Microsoft Intune and cannot be managed by it. The current policy that has emerged from issues with clients is what they call co-management, which is relatively new, and I do not know if adoption is significant. Many legacy or older customers who have been using these products for decades still have SCCM. When it is time for them to manage their Windows devices, they use what is called cloud attach. Cloud attach is a term whereby your SCCM is connected to your Microsoft Intune. Most people do not know about it, but I have deployed it for several organizations. Cloud attach and co-management work together so that your device is in SCCM, but some policies are pushed from Microsoft Intune. It is like two different solutions working hand in hand. That is what they call co-management. Microsoft Intune does not bring all of your endpoint and security management tools into one place, which is the goal and how it should be. However, as I mentioned, servers are not included. If we talk about end users, Microsoft Intune does bring all your devices together. In a typical enterprise environment, you have end users with workstations, laptops, company-issued phones, and bring your own devices. You can create policies for all of these. However, for the backend, your servers do not have much coverage. Servers are not really covered by Microsoft Intune in that way.

Long-term partnership improves customer satisfaction and delivers efficient endpoint management
BigFix supports something known as Patch Policies, which allows users to define that whenever critical patches are released, they should get evaluated against machines and automatically deploy them. Their software distribution is very efficient because they use a pull mechanism rather than a push mechanism, allowing each machine to download from the closest repository and install themselves. The same assessment mechanism applies for real-time vulnerability remediation, allowing identification, evaluation, and automatic remediation across machines. Compliance metrics typically measure the patch percentages deployed against the number of endpoints, which could be various device types including virtual machines and mobile devices. Measurements are taken against each device type, looking into compliance percentages for browsers such as Chrome and Edge based on their versions.

Centralized secrets have secured CI/CD pipelines and prevent password traces in terminals
Infisical's best features include the ease I have to store passwords and manage the users who will use those passwords. That helps a lot. User management through Infisical makes my work easier because I am able to manage the access levels to the types of passwords that I have stored in Infisical. This allows me to have higher access levels with higher-level passwords and deeper levels of access. Infisical is extremely simple to use, so it is important to emphasize how easy it is to handle the platform as a whole. It is very straightforward and very easy to deal with in terms of how it is laid out. Infisical has had a positive impact on my organization mainly in the level of security regarding the use of passwords that give direct access to the server. We stopped using passwords directly on personal computers. This ensures a very high level of security for both those in development and those in management. There are possibilities of computers breaking or losing saved passwords. If someone breaks into my personal computer, that person will not have access via prompt to my high-level passwords. This security segregation raises and gives much more credibility to the company as a whole. I have noticed time savings in access management after adopting Infisical as the main benefit. Regarding leaks, we have not had anything proven related to leaks yet.

"I have no issues with the scalability and ability to expand Microsoft Intune."
"It works well if you have a Microsoft environment."
"The product is very useful in terms of Windows Information Protection."
"The ability to push applications on devices is valuable. You do not have to manually install applications one by one. If you like to use ten different applications, you do not have to manually go and download them one by one. Intune can compile a package for you, and then you can just push them from the admin center."
"We saw approximately forty to fifty percent reduction in manual device setup time with Microsoft Intune as onboarding became fully automated."
"Technical support, in general, has been quite helpful."
"Intune saves time, and it is very easy to use. It allows us to manage applications completely."
"It is a great product."
"It covers multiple operating systems and helps with patch management."
"We've been able to fully automate our TWS installs, to the point where a user requests it and we don't do anything."
"This has very much improved our organization by saving time to deploy thousands of endpoints to our customers."
"The architecture for patching and the 100% correct reporting makes BigFix stand apart from other solutions."
"The most valuable feature for me is patching, because it's helped me to make sure I am always compliant."
"Being able to hit all of our endpoints is the most beneficial feature of this solution."
"Servers are patched more consistently than they have been previously."
"Infisical has had a positive impact on my organization because it has helped me manage secrets in a much faster way, and all the people in the mobile or web development departments can integrate with the ecosystem quickly thanks to its SDK."
"Infisical has had a positive impact on my organization mainly in the level of security regarding the use of passwords that give direct access to the server."
"Infisical has positively impacted my organization, and even though I was an intern, I noticed improvements or benefits after using it as that was part of the assignment."
"Infisical has positively impacted my organization by helping us transition from deploying everything manually, where we had to copy-paste all the environment variables into the environment files in the cloud, by dynamically injecting all the tokens and secrets into the workflow, which was very fast and saved a lot of time."
"The main positive impact is that it saves a lot of time because there is no need to worry about security vulnerabilities that can occur."
"Infisical had a positive impact on my organization, even in its proof-of-concept phase, because it integrated more seamlessly into the development environment."
"Infisical has improved security significantly and makes it very easy for all developers to update, delete, and restore environment variables or secrets while keeping them in a very secure manner on our self-hosted infrastructure."

Cons

"It isn't easy to use. It's very complicated, but as long as you take the time to learn it, you can do just about anything you want with your device."
"My main pain point for Microsoft Intune is the contact part. Not all Android or iOS applications have access to integration, for example, contacts."
"Intune's server management could be better. If it could incorporate more features from System Center into Intune's Configuration Manager, it would be beneficial."
"There is room for improvement, particularly in terms of compatibility, extending beyond the well-known major brands."
"I have faced stability issues with Microsoft Intune plenty of times, but I think it's part of the process."
"The initial setup is a little bit complex."
"The support is not particularly good. Sometimes when you open a case with Microsoft, you end up resolving the issue by yourself."
"The configuration could be better by consolidating options and making it simpler."
"The self-service application seems to need some work to replace the client UI. There are a lot of pop-ups if you use a baseline as the object that you're setting to a workstation. Unless you're using web UI, the message is not customizable in the user notification."
"I have concerns about BigFix's pricing, which I find to be slightly on the higher side."
"The self-service application seems to need some work to replace the client UI."
"They don't have a proper mobile device management capability."
"I self-taught for this online, so the initial setup was a little difficult to pick up at first. I had to create a couple of testing environments and destroy them in order to learn how to use it. There was a lot of trial and error, a lot of reading of the manuals."
"I would like to see different types of reporting and the ability to integrate closer with the cloud."
"Needs to improve Network Access Protection (NAP) technologies to prevent computers with vulnerabilities from gaining access to networks."
"License management isn't quite as easy as it should be to deal with the licensing. You need to take the server down to import the new licenses which I find to be annoying."
"Better documentation is needed."
"When we scan Infisical using the Trivy vulnerability scanning tool, we found issues with Infisical CLI Go binaries that are not updated with the latest version."
"From a features perspective, there is a little lag when running projects and importing particular secret variables."
"One thing that kept frustrating me was that sometimes Infisical was not working from our cloud machine."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If you ask the accountant or the finance department, they'll tell you that it is way too expensive, but when I look at the cost and compare it with the value you actually get, it's more than fair."
"It comes with the E5 plan. We bought the E5 plan from Microsoft."
"The product is relatively pricey, but considering its benefits, I'd say it's fair. The benefits outweigh the expensive licensing fees, especially for large organizations, but medium-sized and smaller businesses may be unable to afford it."
"It is not expensive."
"Intune is moderately expensive. You can get the license bundled with Office 365 E3 or E5 licenses. The E5s are a bit expensive, but you get some cheaper solutions with Intune."
"It's monthly for us, but it's built into the license cost that we pay our IT each month. It's maybe 129 Kroner per head, which translates to £10. There are some additional costs. Our IT had to set up and configure their own server, so there is an extra cost for that, but I'm not sure what that costs."
"The overall pricing of Microsoft Intune is good for companies that have big IT budgets, 3,000 or more users and devices."
"Microsoft offers some licensing where it's included at no extra cost when customers are already using the licenses. In such a case, it's a really good value. If you have to buy the licensing for it, it's probably on par with other solutions. It isn't substantially more or less expensive. The great thing is that it is included in some of Microsoft's licensed packages. So, some customers don't have to spend additional money for it. Typically, most providers that support Intune do charge a management fee of some sort or some fee. Certainly, we're no exception."
"So, the pricing is slightly more expensive than the others. I have to keep buying licenses every time I add a new device."
"The price of the solution is high. There are not any additional fees from the standard license."
"When purchasing, buying with other IBM tools provided us with a very good discount in pricing."
"Compliance, inventory, and licensing are really pricey. They should lower the price. It discourages users from getting onboard."
"It might be about $23 a client."
"The price is very fair."
"The cost is slightly high."
"The price of BigFix is better than the solutions. You are able to pay monthly or annually. There are not any hidden costs with BigFix. There is an additional cost for the SQL database."
