Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is the ability to see which problems have been resolved from deployment.""Deployment workflow (WF) can be designed this way, so that it is not necessary to provide all applications (systems) artifacts of which an application consists.""It can support very complex environments and dependencies.""Gives people insight into what's happening during the deployment.""Self-service for developers, because they are able to deploy to development departments on their own, without needing people from operations.""The IT process automation is the most valuable aspect of this solution.""The capability to provide visibility to the stakeholders, to management, is the biggest piece that showcases what the solution is about.""It gives us good feedback on visualizations and on how our processes have progressed."

"It can generate reports showing a burndown chart, burnup chart, and the planned vs actual velocity.""It allows my clients to have one central tool to manage their agile projects.""Agility is highly flexible. It can do much more than what our client is doing with it. They use it in a defined way. Some at that company have a much broader knowledge of agile and SAFe, but they're given applications and a mandated way to work. We had to work within their parameters and provide an accurate transition so the data would be mapped and pushed through.""For visualization capabilities, the automation capabilities make it possible to support the different personas. The features and capabilities are excellent and come with excellent support.""With some of the other tools, you have to buy 20 different plugins to get to the same capability that comes with the basic Agility capability."

Cons
"One of the biggest features I've been asked by my team to put in there is opening more scripting languages to be part of the platform. There is a little bit of a learning curve in learning how to code some of the workflows in Automic at this time. If widely used languages like Perl and Python were integrated, on top of what's already there, the proprietary language, it would make it easier to on-board new resources.""key thing is support for cloud-based deployment. That is lacking.""There needs to be better error handling and error descriptions. It should be more clear what the errors are and what we can do to fix them.""GUI for mobile phones: Availability to approve and start deployment through mobile phones.""If you have a technical problem and need development of the tool, the support team is terrible, because they cannot help with the technical details.""The dashboard should allow you to see the current state of packages in each environment, not only on an individual application basis, but across the entire application platform.""We hope that we can integrate the new CD Directive into our portfolio, so we can bring the deployment and release management closer together.""It would be very beneficial for us to see integrations into cloud environments, especially into the Google Cloud environment because we are heading towards cloud."

"Improve how to create and track releases. Currently, I have to create child projects.""There is room for improvement in getting the analytics portion of the solution more integrated with the rest of it.""The user interface can be improved by adding Save, Edit, Add, Cancel, and Return buttons to the popup windows that are displayed when you click on a child item.""In my work as a contractor, it's always frustrating when a client has multiple software applications that don't talk to each other and they all perform the same function. That presents a huge challenge between their IT groups.""The machine learning features are a new capability but could be improved. This is being worked by Digital.ai currently. Multicolor simulation, specifically, could be improved."

  • "I can save time and money more quickly."
  • "If you have a fixed contract, it has limits to spreading out. If you have a flexible enterprise license contract, then you have a lot of scalability for this tool."
  • "Customers often complain about the price."

  • "You get what you pay for. Don't let your development teams dictate what the portfolio management team should use as the main tool."
