Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

A Robust Solution with Enhanced Automation and Process Improvement Identification Capabilities
I recommend that users invest more time in the initial setup of the process architecture within the tool. It is crucial to spend time designing how the process architecture works as it significantly impacts how the tool behaves. This upfront investment can prevent the need for extensive reworking later on.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Automation Anywhere is easy to use and user-friendly due to its intuitive interface and straightforward implementation architecture, making it accessible even for those without a technical background."
"Other products are more low-code, whereas Automation Anywhere is no-code making it easier to learn and user-friendly."
"We have automated every finance-based operation, from collections to invoice processing, and it has streamlined many manual processes, eliminating errors and inefficiencies while allowing us to introduce metrics so we can generate operational reports and improve our overall business."
"It saves a lot of effort and hours. It is time-efficient and cost-efficient."
"This Testing Anywhere is a good tool for the functional testing and also good for the beginners in Automation who don't have knowledge in scripting."
"We found that Automation Anywhere was the easiest to use, and their offer was much more appealing compared to the other products, so that's why we ended up choosing them."
"Most clients prefer Automation Anywhere because it is easy to implement. You don't need to know rocket science to learn this solution. If you know logic, that is sufficient. Automation Anywhere is more user-friendly."
"Support for Automation Anywhere is wonderful; I had an issue related to Chrome not working with the latest update, and they helped me extensively and even came on call to support me."
"One notable software-related benefit from a user perspective is our improved ability to identify opportunities for automation and process enhancement just by gaining a clearer view of the processes. There are two valuable aspects. First, setting up the process architecture is commendable. Second, not having to maintain different versions of processes is a notable benefit. The solution is stable. The support team is responsive."
"The most valuable feature is the integrated manner in which all the capabilities of the Enterprise Process Center platform work together and make it easier to complete the documentation of processes."

Cons

"IQ Bot is pretty good, but we can only run a maximum 150 documents."
"I'd like to see the stabilization of Co-Pilot and integration with multiple products... In the future, I will require integration with SAP Oracle, Atlassian, and Service Now. The contact center vertical is important..."
"The biggest challenge in attended automation, every time the agent has to log in to the control room and execute bot for most of the agents this is a time-consuming activity plus they are not tech-savvy."
"The Image Recognition functionality should be enhanced to improve the accuracy of checkboxes."
"Citrix is only in the development stage. Automation Anywhere could put some time into improving this more."
"What I don't like about Automation Anywhere is that its troubleshooting tools need to be improved because they usually take a long time to solve problems as they come up."
"Automation Anywhere can be improved by offering more integration with many more applications."
"When working with Excel, unlike other tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere does not have the standard variables for .Net data types."
"However, on the process mining side, there's potential for improvement to gain deeper insights into process functionality. Additionally, there's always room for enhancement in the user interface."
"As with all such platforms, Enterprise Process Center is a complex tool and there are many capabilities and features that take time to learn."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This solution costs approximately $3,500 USD per license."
"We would like to use Citrix going forward. We use Bot Runners to scale up, and it gets to be expensive. Using Citrix, it can mitigate costs."
"Subscription for Automation Anywhere (AA) is paid yearly."
"Despite being less expensive than UiPath, Automation Anywhere remains cost-prohibitive for many small and medium-sized businesses."
"The cost is affordable, which makes an easy barrier to entry for the RPA market."
"The pricing that we received from Automation Anywhere in the beginning was very economical for us. We've seen a lot of benefit from what we spent to what we're receiving. From the beginning, it's been a very low-cost implementation for us."
"Regarding the price, licensing, and maintenance, Automation Anywhere provides its customers with its best and affordable value."
"The cost is high for small-scale businesses but it is fine for medium and large enterprises. Its high licensing cost may affect small-scale businesses. Reducing licensing costs would benefit many users."
"My advice for anybody who is implementing this product is to understand what options you believe you are going to want to implement and rollout in the first three to five years, but spend the most time understanding what the set-up costs and pricing will be in the first two or maybe three."
